Yes, I read the book and I say that It is one of the funniest local books I have ever read.

His narration is actually very simple. I could liken it to a short recollection or glimpses of his school life. I think this simple, direct narration is the main charm of the book. The first few chapters are very funny and sometimes I wonder if they REALLY did happen to Bob Ong.

But somewhere along the book this simple narration lost its "flavor." For me, parang naging rushed na ang narration. Childhood, then teen-age and then college. All in a whirl. His stories in High School and college were not as poignant as his other stories. It became too simple already and the narration and style too "ordinary" to even keep the interest of the reader. Sayang! Ang galing pa naman ng start ng book.

But all in all, I REALLY enjoyed the book. It's worth buying and I recommend it. Besides, I can really relate to it since I am now also a teacher

it's the first filipino pocketbook that i've bought on my free will. i found the book funny and easy-to-read.
natuwa pa ako doon sa mga games na laro ng mga bata. dati kasi nilalaro ko rin yung mga yun. nakarelate lang ako.
hiniram pa ng guro ko yung libro hehe

have no idea what happened to his site... basta nawala nalang eh... sayang nga...

    Cool

a friend gave a copy of ABNKKBSNPLAKo last december as a birthday/christmas present. i loved it. i could totally relate to his stories, especially his experiences back in grade school. i was laughing out loud during the first few chapters. pero he started becoming serious when he got to his college days...ok lang, but it sort of put a damper on the whole experience of reading the book, especially after building all that "giddy feelings" and nostalgia.

but, like i said, i loved the book. in fact, i was reading it slowly because i didn't want it to end so quickly.

i think everyone should get the chance to read this book. people need to look back at their past in order to see where they're headed (or some $h*t like that...)

    I received A B N K K B S N P L A Ko?! as a Christmas gift from my Mom last year. I'm glad she bought me a copy when she visited me in the US.

Bostsip, I agree with you. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. The start of the book chronicling Bob's grade school experiences engages the reader to read more but his high school and college experiences aren't as well-written and aren't as colorful. It's still a good read in spite of that.

definitely one of my favorite writers. his 1st book abnkkbsnpl ako! is in my opinion, a must read for all students. i liked the way he traced one's academic life - from (kasama ba preschool?) elementary, to high school, to college, to a teaching career - very sentimental and nostalgic pieces.

i found his latest book at national several weeks ago, but i haven't looked through it. to those who have purchased the book, what are your comments/reactions on the work? is it worth buying, or at least borrowing from a friend?

    bob ong da best!

ang galing nitong taong ito.. i've read his books from abnkkbsnpl ako, then bakit baligtad magbasa ng libro ang mga pilipino. the new book is entitled "ang paboritong libro ni hudas".

i like his style of writing. light and fun & in the end may makukuha kang lesson.

i think in his latest book, marvin agustin is the president of the phils., tootsie guevara the vp & donita rose is the pope... mwahaha! kulit no?
