Hope to hear from your comments about the oldest collegiate league in the Philippines being outdone by the glamour league. What are your feelings, reactions (violent or not) and opinions. Feel free to express your views.

i think it's because of a combination of a lot of things... uaap obviosuly has the funding from various sources such as alumni, sponsors, tv... then of course, ncaa never had a legit and glorified rivalry such as the ateneo-la salle rivalry or the domination of a powerhouse such as ust... then now you've also got studio 23 bringing more commercial value to its games. it's hard for ncaa not to get overshadowed by such a big money-making machine such as the uaap.

Actually, Vintage Enterprises gave the NCAA a new lease in coverage and exposure again but the major problem was the riots incited by unruly students in certain schools. Not all schools are war-freaks but I guess the lust for blood spilling in the hardcourt is the price to pay for a league that has been losing to a glamour league like UAAP. Thanks anyway for the reply and I hope to hear more additional info you can spare.

Another factor is the transfer of Ateneo and La Salle to the UAAP. The Ateneo-La Salle rivalry was the main attraction sa NC dati. Well, today main attraction sila but sa UAAP.

I agree with you mighty archer. But does it have to stop there? We must admit, they do bring the money but the NCAA can be better now that CSB is there. Why can't they pull some more strings? The culture of basketball violence must also be stopped. I hope my fellow benildeans would patronize the games too, too much texting, smoking, and partying?! I envy the other schools. By the busloads pa sila kung pumunta whereas benildeans never bothered to walk it, hmmm... Starbucks might help, its near the venue, I hope they get to root for the team and not for coffee.

CSB and SBC out of place in the NCAA
if only the 2 schools gain university status they would have been in the UAAP panay rumble kasi dyan sa NCAA wala tuloy advertisers sa TV no TV coverage no glamour also that rule on banning NCAA players from playing in PBL kaya the better players play for UAAP schools better exposure leading to possible PBA stints in current season at least 60 ex UAAP players in the PBA to only 20+ for ex NCAA then the UAAP coaches are assistant coaches in the PBA and or eventually head coaches in the PBA so again better players go to UAAP schools lastly its because UAAP schools have the MOOLAH to lure the best players |
