Has anyone been to this event? Share naman your experience. Thanks.
hi charlatan, meron pa ba batanes tour dis may?
i'd like to go kaso di ko alam pano
Been there just this summer 2005 plane fare from Manila to Basco is around 4500 one way only. You can opt to try the tuguegarao route or the Laoag route then fly an 8 seater plane going to basco. Price is around 3k. One way. Bus from manila to Laoag is around 700 (deluxe bus) If you try Chemtrad, their plane fare is much expensive by 500 pesos. You can also try Pacific Airways which is much cheaper however the plane is always late.
If you plan to go to Itbayat by plane the price is less than 1k. And it will only take you 15 minutes by plane going to that Island. If you took the Falowa, it is more than 4 hours. I recommend that you take the plane. Both airlines has the same service. And if you took plane there is a free shuttle going to and from the town proper of Itbayat.
If you plan to go to sabtang, falowa ride cost 30 pesos. You can hire a ride to the whole island for less than 2k. Sulit na yan. Make sure you ask your guide to take you at the beach in Sabtang.
If you want cheaper accomodation in Basco, try the Ivatan Lodge. As far as I remember 1 night will cost you 100. But we never stayed there.
If you plan to tour the whole place, go to batanes ecotourism office. They will recommend a tour and ride for you. Make sure to pass by the PIA office. (Philippine Information Agency) Office is located near the Cathedral.
How about Batanes Islands for the summer? You may visit here.
hi, wala bang tour sa batanes ds may or june? hindi ba delikado to go there by june?kasi di ba tag-ulan na.
anong gagawin mo sa batanes? puro ata mga taong bato doon eh.
kung maalwan lamang puntahan ang mga lugar na ito ..
Go to batanes in summer. I don't recommend the rainy season or you might be stranded in the islands.
Batanes is a very beautiful islands. Make sure to bring so many films or memory chips.
I've always wanted to visit Batanes. Ang mahal lang ng pamasahe. It's 4k one-way.
maglilibot lang...mahal nga pasahe, sana magkaron discount sa airlines
This island is included in my "places to visit while I'm still young and supporting only myself".
I'm such a nature junkie and reading through articles and reviews of Batanes really appeals so much so I'm saving up for next summer! Planning to bring a good book, my player, digicam and rent a bike to get around the place. No internet, no signal (except smart daw) .. boss-free for a few days.
it's one of my dream destinations. pagnapapanuod ko sa mga TV documentaries sobrang WOW I wan't to go there... ang ganda napakapristine and undisturbed ng surroundings... gusto ko yung peace and tranquility yung walang magulo at wala kang masyadong iisipin... tapos picture perfect pa yung place
Iyan din ang dream ko, ang marating and ma-experience ang Batanes in its undisturbed and unpolluted state. Sa Batanes talaga naka-focus ang attention ko among the places to see in the Philippines. I have to be in Batanes within the next three years before local and foreign tourists mess the place up... before its too late. I want to see the beauty of Batanes in its pristine state and that's probably the reason places like Boracay (the Boracay now) does not attract me.
^ Iyan din ang worry ko dahil our government officials sell our national territory, pride, and dignity for money. Once nag-umpisa ng dumugin ng mga turista (specially foreigners) nasisira na ang character ng lugar.
Boracay is one good example of a beautiful place destroyed by tourism. It started as a place people want to go to for its natural beauty, now people go there to party, see and be seen by "people." I hope what happened to Boracay does not happen to Batanes. The people of Batanes can still benefit from progress without prostituting and destroying their beautiful place.
Hi wikkiboya, why not go and visit the place before you make your judgment. I'd rather be home for Batanes than to any place in the Philippines.Originally Posted by wikkiboya
Anyway, I do respect your personal opinion but hey the Batanes people are nice people, and that's one of the reasons why I have been there for many times and I want to be there again.
I think nature is protecting Batanes from foreign exploitation. The typhoons are considerably a hindrance to the Batanes people's own development but it's a good way to keep foreigners (who doesn't care about the preservation of it) at bay. So the only chance left for those who wants to visit the beautiful island is on summer, from March to May.
I have experienced more in Batanes, nice people, friendly, and the place is perfect!
October is another good month for bird lovers. You will experience the huge flock of birds (agila) that paraded in the Air fom mid noon until dusk. I think these birds which came from Australia usually pass to Batanes towards the eastern part of the globe to search for a warmer place, i guess. And Batanes islands is one of their resting places before heading farther.
It's fun to be in Batanes but hey, loitering is 100% prohibited. Keep your small plastic garbage in your pockets. The ivatans are deeply environmentalists so keep the place clean at all times.
See you there hopefully next summer.
tnx losav..the place is just lovely and awesome...my mom's from batanes and i have 2 aunts living there... summer is the best time to go to the islands. hope to see you there next summer losav.. how? no idea.. i'm just happy to hear praises from visitor/s who has/have visited our beloved batanes island..
