Online friendships?

my closest friends now are people i met on irc. i personally think that what you read of a person online is really what triggers your interest to be friends with her. but i think pursuing a true friendship (one that goes beyond plain text), is only possible when you've had real contact. i think people get comfortable on irc and on pex because it's easier to talk since nobody can actually see you. the gauge of a true friendship is when you feel comfortable with a person even on a bad hair day and when you're not completely embarassed just because you said something stupid because you're sure that that person will try to understand you no matter what.

i have a circle of friends i met thru the net, di pa kami nagkita lahat in one place & at the same time .... but most of us have met each other personally.... 2 couples from this group ended up getting married

we met at the disco EB together with makenzi, deli, tad and rampage...we chat then at starbucks in 6750 right then hangout for a while....but deli wast there she went somewhere else... just change my nic though

kami naman nag start lang sa Sports Center, kasi we share same interest... basketball... and we cheer for one team also... Ginebra...so nung nag-EB, kasi nanood kami ng live dun na nagstart, hanggang sa natuklasan namin na beyond basketball and beyond PEx na yung friendship namin... as in sobrang deep na... yung thread nga namin sa ST mag-e-episode 9 na eh and sobrang labs ko sila, yung iba parang mga kapatid ko na and yung isa naman bespren ko na kaya im proud na yung friendship namin sa net lang nagstart at ** pa sa PEx...

online friends are considered superficial for me.pero, still friends paren but hindi yung totoong friend in the true sense. kasi u dont know each other tlaga. i mean yes, u get to confide, yes you get to share funny kwentos, or simple enjoy chatting together basically because u partLy enjoy the anonymity that goes with ur relationship.

parang exciting kasi di pa kayo nagkikita kaya parang oks lang kwento mga ibang bagay.

meet, and then if things click, tapos hangout kayo parate, yun, pede mo na consider friends tlaga as in the true sense.

i have a barkada whom we met each other sa chat. as in we hang out minsan, go to dinner, kwentuhan, mall . ganon. saya. =)

I have a friend (I met here in Pex), we never met but she prooves to be real ebough for me. A friendship can happen even if its just in cyber, basta you two remain true to ewach other and honest enough when you converse.

Malalaman mo naman kung hindi nagpapakatotoo ang on-line friend mo when you observe your conversations, maraming inconcistency pag peke ang kausap mo.

I don't call my friend and "on-line friend", I call her a true friend, kahit dito lang sa net ang contact namin, she is better than some of my ral world friend. Friendship does not only happen through physical contact, friendship is also a matter of co-existing even without physical contact.

i think you can become friends with people over the internet without having to actually go see them in person. i have made great friends over the internet because i had shared that even as an adult i found it fun to play games on jollitown's website even if it's for kids . saw my kid playing it and i tried it and by the way wow may bago na palang race tracks yung racing game ni jollibee sa jollitown website! gstong gusto ng son ko yung outer space race track. try nyo mommies. it's fun!

Sa dami ng forum kung saan ako member, madami na din akong naging "online" friends. May mga nakita na din ako sa personal. Pero minsan, click kami sa online, kapag sa personal, hindi pala.

Kaya natutunan ko, na okay lang magkaroon ng online friends, pero huwag kang magtitiwala agad ng mga personal info mo, even your name, hanggat hindi kayo nagkikita ng personal, o magkita man kayo ng personal, sa tingin mo hindi rin kayo magki click, then I think it's just a waste of time.

While for some this is can happen, I have my own apprehension with meeting people online. Of course our initial impression on them will somehow always be wrong once you meet them in person.

I'm always for establishing friendships in traditional way because for me, friendships are personal relationships and you give your 'person' to each other. And besides there's no telling if that person at the receiving end is just projecting a certain image far from the reality of who he really is.
