Are promises really made to be broken?

Do U make Promises? ...tinutupad nyo naman ba? or puro broken din?

Do U want ppl promising u stuffs to do? ..gusto nyo ba yung laging nagpa promise sa inyo?

...ang sarap ksing pakinggan ng "I PROMISE" di ba... pero ang hirap paniwalaan.... mas maganda yung ginagawa nalang... para walang harm... at walang umaasa..

There's nothing more annoying in the world than to have people promise you things that they can't and don't deliver. I know it's probably not their fault because other forces may have gotten in the way. But to me, that just goes to show how they either didn't care enough to try hard enough, or that teir words mean nothing.

I try not to make promises that I know I can't keep, or would be difficult to keep. But you can never know if your promises will pull through or not. So I keep a big perspective on things and try not to be too hopeful, less I break my trust with someone I care a lot for.

If we all lived by the words, "Don't make promises you can't keep", life may be simpler than it is.

Promises are goals and they should be treated seriously

Instead of saying that they are made to be broken, we should rather make them something to be pursued and fulfilled.

A respectable person will always honor his promises to the best of his ability and the one who can make and fulfill promises is an honorable person indeed.

that's one thing am proud to say... when i make a promise i always and i mean always keep them.. kaya nga di ako promise punta eb .. hehehe

kaya when someone makes a promise i tell them if am i going to take their word for it coz i tend to expect...

I will have to agree with sampaguita. There really is nothing more annoying than a person making a promise and then breaking it. But then, as a friend, I will also have to be understanding. If there's a good reason why he/she broke his promise, then there's no harm done. BUT if he/she made the promise with no intention of keeping it.. now THAT is a different story...

Sometimes promises are needed to ease our worries and anxieties. Evem though that particular promise turns out to be a "broken promise", it has served its purpose of easing our worries at the time the promise was committed.
I do believe though that promises must be kept always.
