I more or less kept it within 3k. Am now feeling a clot at the back of my head from all the pent up self control I had to exercise by keeping my heel back

My ODD is showing 980KMs na, pag 1,000KMS na, pwede ko nang hatawin?

^ After the 1k mark, you can drive it "regularly" but I'd still exercise a certain degree of restrain for the next 1k. Push it every now and then if you really feel the need, but try to drive it in a "civilized" manner for the next 1k which should be the "running in" period.

Make sure to change your oil after the 1k mark alright? After the running in period, let er rip as much as you like.

Just a disclaimer though... keeping your car at high revolutions all the time does shorten the engines life in the long run.. this is true of all engines, not just overhauled ones... just a little FYI.
You can't escape death but you can sure make the ******* work for it...

Any problem with your headlights, trunk at kung ano-ano pa...balik mo na lang sa dealer. They should fix it kasi bago pa yung camry mo.

I guess pwede. The only thing I had to watch for in my 1st 1000 km was not to exceed 100 km/h, nakalagay sa manual eh. Sobrang bihira din ako lumampas ng 3000 rpm on my normal driving style so parang normal driving ko lang din yung break-in

    * At 3000 rpm I can already pull away from stop lights decently.

Nasabi na lahat yung pag break in. I just wanted to say that the Camry Sportivo is da Best!

Pino daw.
Kaya break-in pa rin ako hanggang ngayun. Naka 300km pa lang ako.

    Break it hard buddy..

When engine is brandnew or newly overhauled the piston ring is not properly seated on the cylinder wall.. The critical mileage of breaking in is from 20kms to 40 kms... After that mileage oil glazing is taking place on your engine cylinder wall, if that happens your piston ring will never be seated properly for the rest of your engines life. So for you to avoid oil glazing first you must break it hard to seat the piston ring first before oil glazing happen.

There is a proper way of hard break in...
    http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

    Pls take time to read..

I did this process on my motorbikes and they are fine and very good.... Sparkplug burn are excellent and very powerfull engine because there was no blow by on combustion process..

    Sounds good about bore glazing.

But then a broken in underloaded engine could also suffer from bore glazing. Please note that it is not the rpm but the internal pressure inside the cylinders which can affect the piston rings pushing against the cylinder walls. Revving your engine is not the same as breaking it hard. During the break-in period you should be mindful of the rpm also as it is not only the piston rings and the bores which are new but also a whole lot of other parts such as the valve seats and guides, bearings which can seize because of closer tolerances since they are new, etc. Also consider the piston rings scraping against your cylinder walls, at high engine rpm, they would just tend to "float" and therefore would be against the whole idea of breaking in.

Tip in addition to "break it hard": it means load it hard. (as opposed to revving it hard)

Sa family namin, pag sinabing "break-in", binabiyahe ng malayo, mga 4-7 hours drive.

I have a different perspective on this topic.

Drive gently on the first 2500km. No fast acceleration. Max speed 80kph. Don't make the car work. Low RPM's.

Drive so hard and accelerate fast on the next 2500km. Make the car work. Drive on the high way 80kph+. High RPMs.

    Change oil.

Then drive as you normally drive for the rest of your camry's life.
