    hey reena!

u got the post card na? that was fast! mailed it last fri. wonder if my friends from manila got the one i sent them.

re your question on spanish languages, here?Ls what i know. i know about three which was what my folks told me. the one they speak in the south which is andaluz or andalucian (?), the other one is castillan which i think is the most widely spoken (the same language they speak daw in latin american countries) and the other one is catalan, which is the language used in those provinces/cities near the french border (am just guessing) like barcelona. when i was in barcelona i thought the signages were written in french but i learned that it is actually catalan.

when is eimee going to spain?

im in vienna right now. was in venice the other day. im leaving tonight for berlin then amsterdam then paris. then back to spain. details next time. just need to catch a train in a while.

    barcelona
    madrid

    yan sana....hehe....

    (baka sakali )
hmmm... lemme think. ive kept all my maps for posterity. some sort of souvenirs i could look back on in the future.

i didnt have a map of venice though. its the only city ive been to that charged the tourists for maps. i refused to pay 2.50 euros for a map. tourism in venice is an absolute ripoff. the place is awesome but the prices were a turnoff.

i didnt enjoy milan as i did barcelona or rome. i thought vienna is much better. florence is ok and so is madrid, but not great tour spots unless youre into museums, old buildings and all those arsty stuff. i prefer nice (france) and monaco. they got great beaches there.

milan is much like manila. filthy. its a good place for shopping because the prices are a liitle cheaper. but then again u could do it here in vienna.

Exactly. I only stayed in Milan for like 5-6 hours and that was enough for me.

So, are you having a blast?

wow, Pedi..that was indeed fast ....have fun and be safe!

Eimee said she has to leave by Oct. 1st..which is too soon. I hope her visa gets processed soon, from my undestanding, she'll be there under a student visa.

I'm getting myself oriented with architectural design, sculptures and paintings..just art in general ...their history and what makes them different and all that..that way when I go..I could say.. Oh yeah, that's totally Baroque ..oh hey..that's Romanesque...Gothic....blah blah blah...

I'm only reading up on history too, not much. Just enough to know and appreciate ....things..

    if I could
    I'd do anything..
    spontaneaously...

very much mikey. i am in berlin right now. its sunny but its so cold. i would have gone to prague but i learned i would need a separate visa. sayang. next stop would be koln but i wont stay long. i would just go around for a couple of hours then take the IC train to amsterdam from there.

reena, my trip to amsterdam is something i really look forward to. i think i would have the guts to enter a sex shop there. out of curiosity hehe

i just dunno if a student visa would allow her to tour the rest of europe. nine months would have been great to see all the the best european cities. if not, she can tour the whole of spain. barcelona, sevilla, valencia, cordova, marbella and of course, ibiza! i would definitely go there next time. i hope theres a next time though

I have been to several sex shops in Amsterdam. There really is nothing to it. In fact, a lot of tourists go inside the sex shops especially on the Red Light District so don't be embarrassed. And, if you want, you can buy a dildo or a butt plug as a souvenir.
Also, there is a sex museum along the Damrak within walking distance from the central station where you can see ancient sex toys, etc.
Plus, I encourage you to watch a live sex show on the Casa Rosso theater. It's quite an eye-opener. And if you're open-minded enough, try smoking a joint of marijuana on one of the "coffeeshops". It costs about 7.50 euros for a joint.

Have fun in Amsterdam. I am so jealous. I wished I was back in Europe.

hi Pedi ....why do you even have to muster up the guts to go to a sex shop? You're a grown man...no one's gonna care!

how's Berlin? did you go to Munich?

a live sex show? .... can I ask what you saw in this show, Mike? Is it what I think it says? If so, then I hope it's done tastefully and artistically to gve the ..act, justice.

tastefully and artistic... does it matter?
during my trip, i did not go and see this live show when i was in amsterdam dahil ayaw kong madala ng tukso ha-ha-ha.

nakakatuwa ka naman Triglyceride. i'm always reading this thread and there are days that you just seem to be happy and you post songs and anything about your preparation for your euro trip.

heymikey, so how are you doing now? i remember, just after my backpacking, pakiramdam ko parang panaginip lang yung mga nangyari. many things changed. even the way i call places. before the trip, when i talk with friends, i always name the places as florence, milan, venice, etc... but after the trip, the names changed to firenze, milano, venezia, etc.

Triglyceride, you'll definitely enjoy your trip.

heymikey, ill keep that in mind. esp that casa rosso theater. ill be there by noon today.

reena, lest u forget, theres hardly any sex shop in the phil. kung meron man, patago. so its definitely something new to me.

berlin is a very expensive city. i bought a 48 hour city tour card for 14 euros which i only used for half a day. i love the weather. i resented bringing a thick coat while in spain and italy but now i have use for it, malamig din dito sa koln (cologne). ive seen the famous koln dom so ok na ko. off to amsterdam in a while.

Well, it's been more than a month since I came back home and I'm still having dreams about my trip. Just last night, I couldn't sleep because my experiences kept running through my head. Yeah, I know it sounds pathetic.

Anyway, I am planning on moving to London sometime late 2005 or early 2006. I just need to save some money before I leave just in case. When I was going back home, I actually received a sign (lol, no I'm not crazy). On the day I was supposed to leave, we were already sitting on the plane and, all of a sudden, the pilot said that the flight will be cancelled. There was a problem with one of the engines. So, they had to rebook the flight the next day. I was kinda happy since I wasn't ready to go back home. On the next day, the flight again got delayed for about 3 hours. I mean, what are the chances that a flight get cancelled and then get delayed again? I am sure that this is a sign that it wasn't meant for me to leave Europe. I know it sounds crazy but I am taking that as a sign that I was meant to stay there, albeit temporarily. So, I have made up my mind and I will be moving to Europe probably around late next year.

p@cmani@c2, if you like medieval towns, drop by Brugges in Belgium. I believe there is a direct train from Amsterdam. It's quite a nice place.

You know, pardon me. I've totally forgotten about how taboo it is over there. Saying that it is all new to you is refreshing to hear though, because I don't get to hear that everyday, especially from a guy.

Istarbaks - thanks! I definitely will I'm a music nerd but I am also obsessed with this Europ trip..it's a pretty bad combination.

Mike - wow! Best of luck to you one that! In regards to signs, I do that too. When I was looking up Kutna Hora, in the Czech Republic, I still wasn't sure whether or not I could go. When I went to the website, I noticed that the website was last updated on my birthday...I gotta go

Theres a few medievel quarters in Florence, close to the Santa Maria del Fiori. You'll find a lot more in France; Avignon and the Dordogne region.

i find medieval towns interesting. too bad i wont have time to go to brugges. after amsterdam, i went straight to paris though i was still able to squeeze in a couple of hours in antwerpeen (also in belgium). the houses there look like small castles. intersting place, though a little congested. maybe because i went on a sunday. (suddenly i missed home )

im back in barcelona right now waiting for my train to sevilla. i heard sevilla has nice old houses too. ill probably go around the city for a couple of hours then back to malaga for some rest before i fly back to manila.

tomorrow is the last day of my adventure. am tired. broke. but an amazing experience i must say. i wish i could go back here in europe. dublin, glasgow and prague would surely be included in my itinerary.

reena, good luck to you on your trip.
