USD50 for a month? With booze? Well! How were you able to do it? Saang city? Where did you stay / eat?

Just arrived from China. First and most important tip: don't go on budget tours. Sobrang titipirin kayo. Mabuti na yung mahal yung package tour, huwag lang kayong tsaniin ng travel agency when it comes to food, hotel accomodations, transport, etc.

China is lovely and cheap..if you know how to travel cheaply. I spent $500 US for a month stay...including the booze!

$500 for a month? Where did you go and stay?
Are there affordable hostels in Shanghai, Beijing or provinces in between?
How much Chinese do you have to learn before going to survive? Best time to go? tanx for any input/suggestions.

For any international travel, your passport should still be good for another 6 months counting back from the date of expiry so if let's say, your passport's expiry date is Dec 31, 2005, then it is good for travel until end of June 2005.

    hello purpleheadd07

actually i just got my chinese visa this morning we went there last wednesday, filled up an application form (you need 2 2x2 pictures), waited for like 20 mins para matawag yung number namin, submitted the form with the pictures and passport and presto! tapos na. then we went back after 3 working days and paid P920 per application form and... yun lang hehe

requirements lang nila is the 1 page application form, 2 2x2 pictures and your passport. mabilis lang actually yung process pero you should try going there before 9am para mauna ka makakuha ng number.

address of the chinese embassy in makati: 2nd Flr World Centre Building (Megaworld Bldg)along Buendia(front entrance) and HV dela Costa (back entrance)

    good luck and enjoy china!

Shanghai? Go to Huaihai Lu for shopping... better than Nanjing Lu. Just be prepared to do some hard bargaining. ; )

Hi! Is this a tourist visa for China? How long will it be valid? Parang US din ba na may multiple entry type etc?

  19. #39

    bargaining

Do some hard bargaining... just ask for 30% of the quotation. Look around for the same item... never look eager to buy the merchandise.
