How do I get a China visa? We're thinking of going to HK and then taking a train to Beijing, then a train back to HK. After, it's back to Manila. What kind of visa do I get, how much is it and how do I obtain it? Will it be better via a travel agency? Does anyone know a reputable and affordable agency for this? Thanks.
hi! ask ko lang po how much usually yung 2D/3N tour package sa China? thanks!
^ CTS in Central? Halatang hindi pa ako masyadong nakapagtravel!
You might want to get one while you are here in the Philippines. It's really a hassle to get a China Visa while you're travelling considering that your plan is to go to China from HK.
It's no hassle to get a China visa here in the Phils. Just go to the China Embassy in Buendia (fronting Mapua Tech). Tip ko lang is go as early as 8:00AM with your passport (Cut-off is 11:00Am). The guard at the China Embassy will give you a number and it will only take a maximum of 1.5 hrs. before you'll be called. Then present your passport to them. They will asked you to come back after 3-4 days.
After 3-4 days, again you will arrive at the embassy around 8AM (cut-off is 11AM) and get a number. You will again wait for a maximum of 1.5 hrs before your number will be called. Once they call your number, just go to the cashier, pay your visa minimum cost is P1,400 for 6 months entry. Then you are done!
I believe this is the best way to get a China visa.
If you want to pay more without any appearance in the China Embassy. Just go to any Travel agaency here in Manila especially in binondo who can get a visa for you at a price of P2,500 to P3,000.
For me,mas convenient yun ako na lang pupunta. Save ko na lang yun extra money. pareho lang naman kasi eh..pupunta ka ng travel agency, tapos after a few days you'll have to go back and get it. Same lang sa china Embassy....
^ Thank you, that was very helpful and informative!
Question lang, since this trip is bound to be in early December. Are we crazy for planning to go to Beijing after HK at that time of the year? I heard the temperatures are freezing...any advice? We really want to go around and see the Great Wall and December is the only time we have so far. Any feedback?
May travel agency ako na alam. They would charge you 800 pesos for the visa assistance, so 2,200 lahat ang magagastos if you don't want to go to the embassy yourself.
Another advise for you is when buying your train ticket in Hk, make sure you buy the soft sleepr. No need for Deluxe soft sleeper. Also don't take the hard sleeper. Ma squatter kasi yun area na hard sleeper.
^ Haha, thanks! Hopefully the soft sleeper falls within budget...we're really backpacking on a shoestring! With that said, where is the cheapest place/website I can reserve/buy/pre-order a two-way HK-Beijing ticket? What's the cheapest rate for the soft sleeper? Thank you again.
Here is the homepage of KCR in HK
And here is the site of the train fare
You can call them and place the order over the phone. Be warned, the Hong Kong -Beijing through train is very popular, and gets booked up well in advance..! the train from HK to Beijing only operates on odd dates and return on even dates.
You may backread from this thread and find some of the pics I post on how the train looks like from the inside. Pero, the train I took is HK-Shanghai. however, the train from HK - Beijing is a lot better than the train I took, but the design is the same.
some pictures of me when I went on a business trip to shanghai, share ko lang.

Yes! I already got my visa from mychinavisa.com
Pretty in distress, nandyan ka pa ba? Or to anyone who can answer my question.
I will be taking a soft sleeper from Beijing to Xian and from Xian, I will be flying to Chengdu. I wanna cuddle those cute pandas! Now, from Chengdu, I want to take a train (soft sleeper din) to Shanghai. It will take more than 24 hours for this train ride. It seems that they don't have a non-stop train on this route. Pero ok lang dahil mas makikita ko ang countryside.
Question: Can you move around the train? I want to see the country from the train. Pwede ka bang gumala-gala? I donít wanna confine myself to my compartment the whole time. Nakakabato siguro yun!
Also, segregated ba ang males sa females pag 4-berth sleeper ang kinuha mo? Binalak kong kumuha ng deluxe 2-berth sleeper kaya lang natakot ako baka lalaki ang maging kasama ko sa compartment.
Balak ko rin sana mag-take ng train from Bangkok to Singapore, passing through Malaysia. From Singapore, I'll take a non-stop flight to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Anyone ever been on this route? Can you tell me anything about it?
Laarni, you could move around in the train. Sa experience ko sa 4 berth sleeper, open yung cabin,it means makikita kayo nang mga dumadaan sa passage way kaya no need to worry about maski hindi segregated yung sleeper. Pinakamalaking problema mo sa china is they speak very very little or no english at all. Pero great country to travel, food is cheap, pero pag dating mo sa Shanghai the cheapest hotel is 400 yuan.
hi pretty... look what i found on my friend's friendster page. hehe. nice place talaga. she goes on a china tour every year. this was taken last september.
pretty, thats good, dahil nakamura ka,ako kasi kumuha nang hotel sa downtown shanghai, kaya siguro mahal. doon kasi malapit business transaction ko
The hotel you stayed probably a 4-star hotel..kaya sya 400RMB. In China a hotel that cost more than 250-300RMB is considered "expensive" na...
There are a lot of cheap motels in shanghai which are nice and clean. Usually for a 2 bed around 250-300rmb.
