    Hey mart1,

Got your message earlier today. I tried calling the number but no answer. I'd love to play but I'll have to hit the driving range first. It's been months.

    Peace.

    Hi guys,

It's nice to see that there are some people interested in golf here at PEx. I'm hoping to get some new playing partners whenever I drop by in Manila. I have been playing the same courses whenever I visit (Riviera, Highlands, Midlands, & Villamor) and I'm hoping that I can find new playing partners and play other courses next time around (most of my playing partners won't gamble with me. They think I'm a sandbagger. Little do they know that I really stink in this game).
I'm hoping to stay there for good next time I visit, so I would like to get some insights as to which golf courses I should look forward to playing.
BTW. What other public courses are open there in Phil? Villamor was a disgrace the last time I played it in September, and they supposedly fixed it up already. Are there any decent public golf courses there in Phil, besides Camp John Hay? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Why the need for a retriever? Marami bang water holes sa intramuros? Yikes! Please remind me to bring old balls with me pag nagalaro tayo ha? I'm sure I'll find water if there is one - parang magnet ang bola ko whenever there is water in play. hahaha..

yeahhhhh!!! nyt golf is so kewwwwwwwwllllll!!! hehehehehehe
    lets do it agen sooon!!!!

as promised here's some jokes from my collection heheh njoy!!!

A bum, who obviously has seen more than his share of hard times, approaches a well-dressed gentleman on the street. "Hey, Buddy, can you spare two dollars?"

The well-dressed gentleman responds, "You are not going to spend it on liquor are you?"

"No, sir, I don't drink," retorts the bum. "You are not going to throw it away in some crap game, are you?" asks the gentleman.

"No way, I don't gamble," answers the bum. "You wouldn't waste the money at a golf course for greens fees, would you?" asks the man.

"Never," says the bum, "I don't play golf." The man asks the bum if he would like to come home with him for a home cooked meal. The bum accepts eagerly. While they are heading for the man's house, the bum's curiosity gets the better of him. "Isn't your wife going to be angry when she sees a guy like me at your table?" "Probably," says the man, "but it will be worth it. I want her to see what happens to a guy who doesn't drink, gamble or play golf."

    heres another 1
A golfer set up his ball on the first tee, took a mighty swing and hit his ball into a clump of trees. He found his ball and saw an opening between two trees he thought he could hit through. Taking out his 3 wood, he took another mighty swing, the ball hit a tree, bounced back, hit him in the forehead and killed him. As he approached the gates of Heaven, St. Peter saw him coming and asked, "Are you a good golfer?" to which the man replied, "Got here in two, didn't I?"

A woman was taking a lesson from her local pro. In the course of the lesson, the pro moved behind the women to demonstrate the stroke and discovered his belt buckle was hooked to the woman's sweater. Not having any luck untangling themselves, the pro suggested they walk together, front to back to the proshop and get help. She said that she didn't want to be seen this way, so the pro found a way through a dense grove of trees. While they were walking through the grove a dog came out from behind one of the trees and tossed a pail of cold water on them!

    hehehe

    best regards

Hi guys! Hope you don't mind a golf newbie like me. Got a question though, how can I tell when I'm ready to play on a course? I've been hitting my mid and short irons pretty straight, most of the time at the range, but I tend to slice when it comes to my woods. I have friends here asking me to play but I'm a bit hesitant... baka magkalat lang ako don sa course... kahiya.

    Cheers!

i agree with my friend squashmon, u cant beat the real thing. and just to add, there are things u can only learn while your on the golf course; like the etiquettes, rules etc. so make sure your friends give you good schooling the first time out. have fun !

    Hey Stefi888 and squashmon!

Just got back from a long trip e, kaya ngayon lang ako naka reply.

Yep we did it! First golf round by Pexers hehehehhehe.

Night golf was something. Moreover, playing the course for the first time. Intramuros is an interesting course but pretty dangerous (ilan na kaya natamaan ng bola don hahahhaha).

Had it rough the first three holes (was six over). But I had four straight pars after that and two bogeys to end a lousy eight over for the front nine. The back nine was a lot easier but I still scored seven over. Since my index is 13 and the course rated around 120, i played well above my index .... haaaaaaayyyy...next time kakayanin ko na ang course na yan!

I played the next day in the la salle greenhills tourney in Sherwoods (great course). Only dissapointment was the tournament played white tees which took away the long par 4 challenge. Did great in the front nine (4 over lang)! The back nine was another story. Going to the last two holes I was seven over shooting for an 83. Unfortunately I tripled the next and quadrupled the last hole (seven strokes in two holes!!!)! BWISIT!

So I scored a lousy 90. bwisit. Last place nga ako sa class "b" hjahahahahahahaahh (17 out of 17). There were over 100 players pala. If I just pared the last two holes I would have probably placed in class "B" given I had two birdies and a number of pars. My only consolation is that among my batchmates I had the second best score heheheheh. haaaay.. that is golf..that is life...still enjoyed immensely though.

    Kailan sunod na round hehehehe.

    Welcome Eat_kamote!
