after a hot visit to Lucban Pahiyas Festival last year, I will be going back once again, but this time, prior to the festival, me and my friends are going to Cagbalete Island for an overnight stay. May 12 kami pupunta sa Island at sa Lucban naman the next day. (bitin ba ang overnight stay sa island, just wondering?)

this year's feast, which is on May 15, will fall on a Tuesday, though.

I don't think so. It is a week-long (or even longer) event. Nagkataon lang na last year, tumama yung May 15 sa Sunday at ngayong taon, sa Tuesday siya tatama.

meron na kaya display sa weekend ng May 12? Anybody from Lucban here? kainis kasi yung site ng Pahiyas, paid site just to get info... anyway, ill be in Tayabas this May 12 weekend and since andun na ako, Im planning to go straight to Lucban around 13 or 14 siguro then Manila before evening.

as for fellow PEXers, I recommend i-try niyo din puntahan ang Pahiyas festival sa (lumang) bayan ng Tayabas. if matapang kayo, you can get "in" to the action as well. it's not as colorful but it's more memorable I promise you! I think the San Isidro parade starts at around 3pm?

so, what happens is they put up their produce on display just like sa Lucban but mostly, it's not for show because once the San Isidro goes past your hours, the display is supposed to be share to the people(the mob, if you'd ask me :P ). anyway, here are some shots from last year's festivities.

may 15 lang pahiyas sa lucban... pero may 10 onwards eh marami na rin events.
