^ I heard mas worse daw ang DBTC pero I dunno.

Yup, Ako... I kinda regret choosing DB din. Had a lot of good memories there but still.. =)

Meh, to each his own. I personally don't know how current graduates (this includes the graduates of the past 5-6 years ) can gauge the upcoming generation of Bosconians as "good" or "bad", as well as the status of the institution itself, as it is indeed somewhat unfair. (comparing your batch to their batch? really now?)

Being an alumni of this school (yes, I'm targeting the alumni critics), would you not want to actually do something to help the next generation of Bosconians, instead of just typing your displeasures and putting down the next generation? You are posting this in an internet forum, which can be accessed by technically anyone who knows how to use a PC and click "Internet Browser". I wonder what the current enrolled Bosconians are thinking while reading our inputs? You wouldn't want them to just wade in self-pity and actually listen to your perceived flaws of them just for the sake of you saying "I was right"?

We were once (or still are) proclaimed as "the Future of this Country"; they will be proclaimed as such to.

Oh well, just my two cents.

^ I know what you mean.. and I'm currently enrolled in DBTI.

That's just how the way I see it lang, the way I feel.. Opinions may be different if you will ask my batchmates/ classmates. To each his own lang talaga. Peace!

DBTI is still a good school though. Advanced yung mga tinuturo sa Math and Science.

Dehins naman worse, more like uncivilized peeps. Ugaling skwater ika nga. Like I said, students lang talaga. Kaso wala na talaga eh, students today need and Iron Fist to govern them. They need to tighten all the school policies. Walang motivation. It's okay for them to settle for less.

Hi. I am a former student of Don Bosco Makati. I graduated Grade School 2003. I then transferred to Ateneo High School. I just graduated from the Loyola Schools last March 2011.
I am new here in Pinoyexchange. I have read everything in this thread. I really felt bad after reading the comments. I have a lot of good memories in DBTI. Up to now, some of my closest friends are graduates of Don Bosco. I am still connected to a lot of them.

What hurts more than these comments is the fact that I agree with them. I have seen my batchmates flunking some of their classes. Most of them cannot speak English well. I don't think a lot of them are good in Math as well. Most of them did not get to good universities after high school.

When I transferred to Ateneo, I had to adjust to their style of education. I was one of the top students in DB (top sa ranking, varsity player) before but when I came to Ateneo, it took me some time before getting back to the honor's list. That was really the time when I realized the huge discrepancy in the quality of education.

Up until now, I still follow the things taught to me in Don Bosco, especially "Do you duties extraordinarily well." It sucks that my friends kind of "un-learned" these values. So i guess, DBTI is also lacking not just in academics but also in values formation.

Nevertheless, I still really enjoy my friends from this school. They are really fun to hang out with. Daming kalokohan! Malakas nga lang mang-asar kasi medyo stereotyped ako as atenista. And! Masipag naman sila maghanap ng trabaho! Also, sobrang gusto ko *** school ngayon kasi ganda ng facilities. I just really hope that they improve the quality of education, values-formation. I also hope they teach their students to dream big and reach for more! In the end, I ll never forget this school. I miss it! Bosconian pa rin ako!

Hi I'm also a former graduate from DBTI Makati batch 2007. Regarding the topic it is quite true but I think they are doing some interventions regarding the quality of the education. I think the teachers are continuing their education as well as far as I know. The school is good to look at now. It is somewhat on par with the other famous schools in terms of facilities. Well it actually looks like a playground right now since there are a lot of basketball courts haha. Pero I really think they are doing their best when it comes to improving education. I know we kinda suck on some subjects because when I entered UST nursing I was shocked with the the chemistry subject. Our chemistry in Highschool for a year was discussed and finished in an hour during college. I really needed to work the **** out of myself just to cope up.

Regarding naman po sa pagkakapresent niyo. Sana lang medyo inayos niyo yung pagkakasabi. It seems to be VERY DISRESPECTFUL. There is a much better way of saying that the quality of OUR ALMA MATER is already dropping hindi yung pagkakatype niyo na "OLATS na ang mga teacher" that's just being plain disrespectful sir. And sana po wala mag judge about other people kasi it is not nice to see that you, a student of DBTI would speak about the school in this manner at the same time disrespecting some of the people in that High school. Sana lang po marealize niyo rin yun kasi you haven't proven anything also right?

My hubby and I are looking for a better school to transfer our 9 year old son. He is currently studying in a catholic school with Level III accreditation from PAASCU for grade school level. Okay na sana kaso ang problema namin yong character formation ng mga bata very lax ang school niya ngayon in disciplining students. Told us something like positive discipline reinforcement but I believe it doesnt work at all.

Since we live in near Manila-Makati-Manda we have 2 choices lang OBMC and DB. I would like to thank you guys for giving me an in-depth understanding how discipline goes inside your school. We went to DB Manda and asked how they address bullying problems of the kids, she replied "Lahat naman ng school may mga bullies eh!" =( Isip namin to try DB makati but with your comments natakot ako lalo. You save me time researching further.

I too wish mabalik na sa dati and DB, education and character formation at its best. My dad said during the 70s magagaling raw at mababait ang mga students ng DB (Makati). Well-bred ika nga. It was an observation he and my lola shared, madalas kasi tambay daddy ko for basketball session with his Bosconian friends. My lola even tried transferring him there but dad gained to love his alma mater, Baste.

nanira ka pa ng pangalan ng school?

    nasa estudyante yan.

I am also an alumni of DBTI Makati batch 97. I have red all the post from the start .I did not like how the topic "Don Bosco Makati is NO LONGER a good school " coz its very hurtful for us alumni's and those who are still studying at busko. DBTI is having renovations and innovations to improve the school structurally and academically.Sana pati sa Technical din meron. We alumni understand the point of you students still studying there. We love our Alma Matter kaya kami nag rereact ng ganito. Opo dual curiculum po tayo academic and technical. But in the English subjects i think the school needs to improve the knowledge of the students to speak fluent english, broaden their vocabulary skills and improve their writing skills also.para pong kelangan ibalik *** polisiyang ginawa samin nuon na pag nasa school eh we need to speak english, pwera lang pag ang klase eh pilipino at sibika at kultura.kasi me mga nakakausap naman akong mga estudyante pa dyan sa busko pag ako eh nagagawi sa waltermart. marurunong naman sila mag ingles.. kelangan lang talaga ngpractice at exposure para gumaling ang mga bata sa busko.

    From a teacher...

I decided to teach in DB Makati because of the good old impression I had about them while I was still a student in a rival school in makati. New teachers in my Alma Mater who used to teach in DB Makati said it was a good school. I decided to check it out for myself. This is my honest opinion, good teachers are leaving because DB admin is a slave to the parents. Administration worships the parents. Teachers are often scapegoats. It is taboo to admit that a kid is not disciplined well at home so parents pay good money to DB Makati to have the privilege of blaming teachers. As a result, retarded kids who cannot compose a good essay at 6th grade. Call me callous, pero puro kabaklaan at noontime show humor ang umiikot sa school ngayon. I am even surprised to see teachers who find this very amusing. I have to dumb down my lesson plan kasi may rule sa faculty na pag may 10 na bagsak... ulit ang test. Just following orders.

One more thing... If they (teachers and students alike) hear anyone speak in English, they label him coño or they say "nose bleed"... Pathetic. English is a basic skill that everyone should have. My English is not special and it doesn't make me special. Unfortunately, they think it does because they don't have the skills

I'm going to give this school a year or 2 before I decide to go to my Alma Mater

I'm from batch '83 and I am surprised at these comments. Our educational footing gave essence to our personal character as well as our technical prowess. I couldn't say the same for most schools most especially when we started with our careers where our peers seem to excel better than those without the kind of training we had in their chosen field of expertise. For instance, I have worked in the construction industry since 1990 and seem to be comfortable with it though I took a business course in college not a tech course like Architecture or Engineering. Four years of general drafting and tech training with 2 years of Automotive classes made a whole lot of difference in the field and that paved way for my dream business to be fulfilled. As for character building my take on it is it begins at home with the parents and strengthened only by the community where we choose to rear our children. I remember the weekly masses and the daily prayers and the relentless effort of our parish community to build and strengthen our relationship with the Lord most especially at the graduating years of our high school. The result is evidenced by our batch's closeness and commitment to pursue good and to promote help and aid to those who are in need both in Spiritual and Human nurturing. You cannot avert change as time and people evolve but you can choose to be a solid foundation for your children and your community with your choices. I made that choice when I sent myself to DBTI in high school and have never forgotten what they gave me regardless of change or development. We were not spared of those parents of spoiled kids that buy their way into grades while we slave for ours. I am sure they have paid dearly with their reckless deed as now we are parents ourselves and we need to be good examples in showing our kids how to resolve their issues. I wonder what kind of parenting those spoiled rich kids teach their children now.
