yung mga tinitinda sa divisoria, galing sa shenzhen, china. this is just across the border from hk. they have this mall called "Lo Wu" sa tapat ng shangrila shenzhen. dyan ata namimili ang mga byahera.

    Hi PinkSoda!

Mura rin doon pero galing rin sa China mga merchandise / garments nila kaya if I were you and of possible....Shenzen nalang.

HK is a very safe place, china is not....I dont think its wise/practical to shop here now, kc ang baba ng value ng peso... fake branded bags , you can shop in Lo wu, 45 mins by train., transportation is very convenient, u wont get lost...Dont worry, mostly ng mga tindera here can speak english kc puntahan nga ng mga tourist *** place.....dont bother to go to mongkok/jordon/night market......mostly ng tinda nila, u can find in divisoria, cheaper pa............, ***** b4 ok p magshopping ** kc medyo ok p din ang PESO, but right now....., its just a waste of money.....sightseeing k na ***.......

I highly recommend you to shop here for their electronics stuff. esp computer gadgets., mura talaga...and also their mobile phones.............pero kung mga accesories *** and other small stuff. jan n *** s divisoria..

Funny thing here in HK, i bought Levi's in times square, worth around HK$800 (almost 5K), pag uwi ko,,,made in Phils ....***** kaya xpensive kc sumakay p ng plane........

Paying for the hotel..better use ur credit card or USD, dont bring peso, lugi ka pag ** mo exchange...............inform me, i'l buy your peso treat p kita s jollibee.....

    Pinksoda,

I don't know the names of the market in Hongkong but I assure you that it's cheap! Nakakagulat talaga. Pwede mo yun ibenta ng P100! If you want branded items, go to HongKong around the last week of August kasi yan talaga yung major sale nila. Sabi nga nila dati yun Philippe Charriol nag-90% off, nasira daw yung pintuan sa sobrang daming tao! My cousin just went there and may mga sale daw, yun mga Esprit shirt cost around P300 lang daw! By the way, may promo daw ngayon PAL, until March 18, $89 lang daw papuntang Hk!

By the way, if you want cheap clothes yet nice, tipong hundreds dito, go to Bangkok. Sobrang dami doon!

  11. #11
    may point si sweetypie_taray.

Its quite unpractical to buy clothes, especially of the fluctuation of the peso.....

I myself boght a shirt at Tommy for hk$800.... 'nun punta ko sa Manila sa Chinese New Year....the retail price of that exact same shirt was around Php2800.

'd ko lang sa MNL pero electronics goods are much affordable here these days, there a lot of cheap goodies if you roam along Nathan Road, pero if your not that bargain type of person....then go to bigger retail shops like Fortress & Broadway, ok rin prices (promotional or retail price).... guaranteed warranty coverage sa MNL ka pa...basta yun famous brands like Sony or Panasonic ha hehe.

Hotels??? are you talking about 4-5 star hotels? don't worry about language barriers....all staff speak fluent english....there are also quite a number of pinoy staff and entertainers which you would feel much more comfortable.

    Well....ENJOY YOUR STAY!!!!

  12. #12
cheaper talaga sa Shenzen but ...WARNING dnt go in a tour!!! BASTA 20 kami nun puro FIL tapos walang nag enjoy as in nagsisi lahat.
Anyway i agree with sweetypie_taray better go sightseeing in HKG than go shop anywhere. there's a lot to see in HKG: CENTRAL, TSIM TSA TSUI basta ok dyan. go for a DAY TOUR tpos NIGHT TOUR naman. I think 300HKG for ea person.
    enjoy!!!

    Walang biro! Di ba guys?

    Oops...eto pa.
Nagkita kami nung kaibigan kong me bahay sa Shenzen
kahapon. Na slash daw yung mobile phone nya, di nya
    namalayan dahil sa siksikan.

  14. #14
Yay....kaya pala yung mga Boss kong HONGKONG based and dami nilang pinamili dito sa manila...especially shirts.
Namili sila sa Megamall....at talagang mas mura kesa sa kanila.

  15. #15
Yung HK$100 kaze nila baka 1 o dalawang pirasong

    grabe no?

    to pinksoda

PINKSODA, you can buy charms, trinkets, and pocket-sized antiques at Cat Street Bazaar in Sheung Wan; Jade items (carvings, trinkets, pendants, etc,) at Jade Market in Yau Ma Tei. You may also visit the Ladies' Market in Mongkok but they sell mostly clothes there.

People in HK speak CANTONESE but most know how to speak English as well. It's very important to HAGGLE. Try to slash off 50% of the original price if you're going market-shopping. Salespeople usually use their calculators to ask what price you're willing to buy the item for.

Going to SHENZHEN is not a good idea if you're not familiar with the place. You will need VISAS to get in, which are, by the way, not easy to secure if you're not part of a touring group. The Shenzhen tour, however, is a NIGHTMARE.

If I were you, I'll just stick to HK. Plus, you can get great buys from factory outlets of Esprit, Giordano, Bossini, etc. Keep a sharp eye because the factory outlets look like regular stalls!

It's worth going to HK even if your goal isn't shopping. Their transportation system is so sophisticated. Feeling mo nasa Amazing Race ka! Wag ka mag-taxi kasi mahal. If you've got extra space in your bag, bring bottled water and crackers kasi mahal ang tubig ang pagkain dun.

Wear rubber shoes! When you're in HK, your legs will hurt from walking but you won't ever wanna stop! There's just so much to do in so little time!

    to Joey23

JOEY23, lalabas na mas mura if you buy a HK package (air tickets, accommodation, tour). Yun nga lang, it usually comes with a day tour at the minimal. Agree with you that it's nice to explore on you own especially if it's not your first time to visit HK. However, buying tickets and room rental separately might cost you more.

3D/2N package rates range from US$88 (Cebu Pacific) - US$150 (PAL). Cathay Pacific is the most expensive.

we r also planning to go to HK this apr. like pinksoda as in first time pa lang din namin pero purely tour lang. ask ko lang kung ano bang dollar yung money naming dadalin USD or HK$? thanks po. and san mganda mag sight seeing. thank u for ur help.

  20. #20
Lagi kami nagdadala ng US dollars tapos doon nalang nagpapapalit kasi pag HK $ na dala mo at hindi mo naubos tapos papapalit mo ulit sa peso or US$, sus! napaka-baba ng rate lalo sa Pinas pa! chaka mas may value ang US$ to HK$ kesa Peso to HK$ or US$ to HK$ na pinapalit mo dito sa atin.

Shadap is right. Sobrang mahal taxi doon, aabutin ka pa talaga ng thousands of pesos, buti nalang may friend dad ko sa HK na taxi driver so kinokontact namin sila lagi tapos hindi siya nagpapabayad lagi, pero syempre pag uuwi na kami, binibigyan siya ng money ng dad ko pero lower than the original value. kunwari nagastos namin as a whole for the taxi is HK$ 1000. binibigay ng dad ko mga HK$700. Nakatipid parin diba? kahit mahal talaga.
