The following have been added to the Pride Middleweight GP:
    Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
    Dan Henderson

Plus we have 1 match-up already made:
    Wanderlei Silva vs. Hidehiko Yoshida
This is a rematch of the last GP's semifinal where Yoshida surprised everyone by being competitive against Silva and not getting KO'd.

Oh ok, I don't see the neo-nazi tatoo (I can only see the "Native" one), but maybe from a different angle. It would be cool if he came out in a Nazi uniform, boots and all, and started marching nazi-style (without bending his knees) to the ring. Hmm, I wonder if the Jap audience would actually boo him (considering they were also part of the Axis powers).

Holy smokes, Vitor Belfort is in too! Can't wait to see him in the ring again with Sakuraba and Silva!

hahaha. u don't even have a to wear a german uniform, mate. that's why he was a neo-nazi, not NAZI. there's a difference. he's "ex-neo nazi " now. and he admiited his far right tendencies. but he's ok now. his sparring mates are mostly non-whites. here's a good 'angle' of his tattoos.

He is? From what I know, Pride is still trying to get Ortiz and Belfort for the GP(They can't get Couture and Lidell since they'll be fighting). Sakuraba's beaten Belfort I think. But yeah, it would be cool to see Silva try to take revenge against either fighter, who both beat him in the UFC.

Wow, you're right for some reason I didn't notice the Belfort, Randleman, Overeem part

    So that makes it 14:
    Wanderlei Silva
    Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
    Quinton “Rampage” Jackson
    Igor Vovchanchyn
    Kazushi Sakuraba
    Dan Henderson
    Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
    Yuki Kondo
    Hidehiko Yoshida
    Kazuhiro Nakamura
    Alistair Overeem
    Kevin Randleman
    Vitor Belfort
    Winner of BUSHIDO 4-man tournament
    (Dean Lister/Amar Suloev/Akira Shoji/Paulo Filho)

So there are still 2 more fighters to add. Let's hope one of them is Tito Ortiz. Other possible fighters are Murilo "Ninja" Rua and Murilo Bustamante. Or they might add another japanese to get murdered like Kiyoshi Tamura.

I wish they picked Rodrigo instead of Rogerio, his fights are a lot more interesting, and overall he's just more technically skilled. Anderson Silva should also be there. The Michael Jackson impersonation is priceless. How about a Semmy Schilt (sp?) and "Giant" Silva match? I'd love to see that. How about Heath "Texas Crazy Horse" Herring?

    me <------ fanboy.

I think if those guys are willing to cut down or gain weight they could enter but i think it would be hard. Heath i think is in K-1 i dont know about schilt if he is in pride or k-1 aswell.

  15. #55
Rodrigo is a heavyweight while Rogerio is a middleweight. That is why rogerio was inserted in the lineup. If you guys noticed, they only field in a maximum of two people per team (ex. BTT has belfort and Rogerio and Chute Boxe has Shogun and Wandy)
As the physically weak man can make himself strong by careful and patient training, so the man of weak thoughts can make them strong by exercising himself in right thinking.

oops. thanks for the clarification. Rogerios' fine then. But it would be great if they got Heath. Btw, what format do they follow for Total elimination? Since its a MW Tournament how many bouts does a fighter have to fight to become champion?

Murilo Bustamante as good as he is has 3 straight losses. Ninja cant be included because his brother Mauricio is already there. I'd like to see Carlos Newton join. Please.. wag na japanese fighter.

Kelan ba magreretire si Sakuraba?.. I think its about time that he does to preserve his record and reputation. I'd hate to see a Silva vs Sakuraba 4.. ..

di ba c newton e nasa 190 pound range pati si bustamante? d kaya mahirapan sila dito dahil sa size disadvantage? although c saku mukhang nasa ganung range din ang timbang.

Yep.. Actually, lahat naman sila are natural middleweights except for Randleman, Overeem, and Igor. Yung "middleweight division" sa Pride is like the "light heavyweight" division sa UFC. Kaya nga iniinvite nila si Tito Ortiz.

Disadvantage?.. hmm.. i dnt think ganun kalaki yung difference sa weight. Siguro around 10-15 pounds at most which should not be that much of a factor.

Unlike before na openweight yung tournament.

Pahabol.. How about including a Gracie in the tournament?.. For me, a MMA tournament aint complete if a gracie isnt represented. How about that cocky Ryan Gracie?

It's single elimination. The champion would have to win 4 straight. Judging from the Heavyweight tournament. They'd have one event where the 16 would be trimmed to 8. Then another where 8 would become 4. Then both the semi-finals and finals would happen on one night. Brackets aren't set so it would be up to Pride who would fight who in each round. (Just look at how Ogawa made it to the HW GP semis )

Belfort has left BTT, so Ricardo Arona may be included (I didn't notice he wasn't part of the list, I assumed he would be)

Ninja and Shogun said in an interview that they wouldn't mind fighting each other. But same as in Bustamante's case, Ninja's lost a bunch of fights lately.

I think that's also a good possibility given his feud with Nakamura.
