Shogun won. 4th round stoppage. Didn't get to watch the match, though. How was Brandon?

Highlights.

Everyone was right. It was a competitive fight. Shogun had the better boxing and was constantly able to takedown Vera. Brandon relied on elbows strikes and occasional knees. Shogun outclassed Vera in the 1st round but Brandon came back in the following rounds. Both fighters were fatigued but ultimately, Shogun Rua caught Brandon then went for the GNP.

I'm proud of Brandon Vera. Many expected a massacre but he showed heart and kept it competitive.

Special props to him when he spoke fluent tagalog in thanking his fans. (Bisaya accent pa nga ata)

I was cheering my heart out when he had Shogun on a choke in the first round although it looked inconclusive, looked like he'd be knocked out earlier in the fight but he definitely showed heart and he had some good combinations working for him but Shogun was just too powerful in the end

Next up would be Jon Jones Vs Dan Henderson.
- Dan Henderson is one of my all time favorite fighters because of his durability and ability to fight in 3 weight divisions (Middleweight, Light heavyweight and heavyweight). Think of a smaller Couture but with better stand up and knockout power. However, he will have his hands full because of Jones' length and unpredictable striking. Hendo should aim for a takedown or if lucky land a haymaker. So good luck Hendo..

Should Jones get by Hendo, Machida would be next. Dana White was right in choosing Lyoto. Although he was chocked up to the point of being unconscious, Machida has a legit chance of beating Jones as long as he manages to stick and move. After all, he did manage to win the first round of their encounter convincingly.

Unlikely. Sobra-sobra na kasi sa rematch si Frankie Edgar. 2 consecutive fights with BJ Penn followed by 2 consecutive fights with Gray Maynard and now 2 consecutive fights with Ben Henderson. Aba'y give chance to others naman. That rematch clause really sucks..

It was a really good and close match. Tough to call. I had it 2 rounds for Henderson and 2 rounds for Edgar before Round 5. Round 5 is 10-10 to me, so I would say it's a tie and I'm cool with whatever the decision was.
