    webpage designers & web hosting

who do you think are the top webpage designers in the country? and the top web hosting companies?

    include links, please.

Drew Europeo and J Lucas Reyes are two local graphic artists whose work I admire. You can check their folios by clicking on their names. For companies, there are a lot of talented people working at K2 Interactive and AWAVA.

Checked out awava's website. it aint working.

Also these two web design firms also owns another web design firm (K2 owns 25x8, AWAVA owns Juan On The Web). Why is that?

And rumor has it that K2 is closing. any word on this one?

    peace!

Juan On The Web is Awava's answer to the low-cost market where we see a dearth of awful looking sites created by amateurs. The sites on Juan On The Web are basically template-based and include hosting for a low yearly price.

With regards 25by8, I doubt they're owned by K2IA, at the most, I would think there are people that have been part of both companies. However, I can't really confirm this right now, as it appears that 25by8's site is down. (must be a new trend this thing with downed sites)

I've been hearing about K2 closing for quite some time now, but still, they're here. Either way, whether or not both companies own other companies, or whether or not either of them is closing, the fact remains that there are talented artists working in both firms who you could probably contract for some freelance work.

I heard from a friend who used to work at some time ago that people there are jumping ship. I was supposed to take an internship at K2 but that idea went down the drain.

I haven't heard anything about them closing since January, and haven't heard anything about retrenchments except from their competitors, so I'm guessing K2's out of the woods. They're probably gonna continue as one of the nation's larger players for years to come.
