    Philippine mint stamp ablum

    For Philippine mint stamp collectors, The post office is selling 2004-06 album pages with stamp at the central post office philatelic division behind the postshop. It cost a little more but it is complete and mounted. It is never to late to start a hobby.

    Listed are the prices of the available Philippine mint stamp albums:
    2004 - 2450 pesos
    2005 - 2850 pesos
    2006 - 3350 pesos
    2007 - 3800 pesos
    2008 - 3500 pesos

    Just vist your central post office philatelic division behind the postshop. It cost a little more but it is complete which one of the biggest problems of a true stamp collector. And of course, stamps are mounted.

    Again, it is never too late to start a hobby. Hum:

    Why is Philippine stamp collecting a dying hobby

    Has anyone wondered why stamp collecting in the Philippines is a dying hobby specifically collecting of Philippine stamps in general?

    Based on my personal experience, there are two good reasons:
    1. Philatelic stamps are difficult to find; and
    2. Postal employees are just to lazy and refuse to sell these to the point of lying that there are no available philatelic stamps and you should just go to the central post office.

    P.S. Has anyone been to the Greenhills postoffice? It is one of the best designed post offices but they do not have stamps there except the mounted sheetlets and fdcs on the wall.

    Here a shortlist of post offices that sell philatelic items:
    1. Manila Central Post Office (there is a postshop and the central
    philatelic division);
    2. Makati Central Post Office (there is a postshop and you could
    try the 2nd flr stamp disbrusement office);
    3. Quezon City Central Post Office (window 16 but it is limited to
    their available stock);
    4. Quezon City Hall Post Office (window 2 but it toois limited to
    their available stock);
    5. Cubao Post Office (postshop);
    6. Ortigas Post Office (stamps at the post master's ofc);
    7. UST Post Office; and
    8. UP Post Office.

    Please fell free to add your PHILATELIC freindly post offices.

    It is shameful to note that the people who should be promoting STAMP COLLECTING are the ones killing the hobby by refusing to sell Philatelic stamps.

    It is shameful to note that the people who should be promoting STAMP COLLECTING are the ones killing the hobby by refusing to sell Philatelic stamps.
    The main reason is lack of public information ! Currently most of the stamps being issued especially in the mid- 2000 are below the international minimum quantity . According to one study ,The Philippines had one of the least stamp collectors in the ASEAN region !!!!

    Let say : Ateneo de Manila University commemorative 150th issue last year ? Philpost issued barely 10,000 pieces of the stamps ? I cannot imagine the those collectors which were not able to buy those stamps..... Good for stamp dealers and those speculators which were able to buy those commemorative stamps and because of their limited quantity ( their face value had already increased several times)

    Some of the stamps the I have

    Bengzon Error

    Aguinaldo/Revolutionary period stamps

    I thought this was a proof, this is larger than the original stamps and printed on a different kind of paper. 2 expert philatelist said this is most likely a cinderella type of stamp but is still a mystery on why it was made.

    I just wondering if there a store that sell other country stamps here in Manila. The one I know in Recto is no more because of construction. If there is, can you guys tell me the address?
