    ATM services

i'm planning to open an ATM account to secure my expenses and to have cash ready whenever i need it.

one of my friends recommended Metrobank coz it has the most number of machines. another one recommended RCBC coz it rarely goes offline. still another recommended Equitable.

i'm planning to open a BPI coz i always see it in malls. thus i think it's the most convenient.

what bank can you recommend that offers the best overall service? thanks!

I have one BPI, one Megalink (UCPB), and one Bancnet (Citibank). I have had the BPI the longest (18 years) and still use it the most often (maybe 9.5 out of 10 transactions). If usability is the end product of uptime, location, ubiquity, and other measures of ATM effectiveness, the answer for me is quite obvious.

Wow, KuyaDanny was one of the first BPI Express Teller cardholders!

Pioneer kumbaga yan si KuyaDanny, Zimdude! Heheheh.

    Equitable PCI is okay also.

BPI is the most convenient. Although Metrobank has a lot of machines (so they speak), just look at the queue in their machines. I may not have the patience to wait in line for a long time.

AIG. No service charge when you withdraw in Megalink and Bancnet ATMs.

AIG-you mean the credit card? Is AIG the only credit card that offers this? Nice one.

BPI..absolutely! there are so many atm machines in malls, some mrt stations, some 7-11 stores and there's so many branches of BPI (meron din sa loob ng malls through its EBC's - open kahit saturdays and sundays) and BPI Family Bank.

Metrobank - konti lang ang atm machines..tapos pag pay day ang haba ng pila!

BPI has Express Payment System (EPS)

    PCI-Equitable has Visa Electron

I only have loose change in my pocket when going out. Cashless lahat halos ng transactions ko.

Oops, my bad ? Sorry, I meant to say Philam Bank (parent company is AIG). Philam Bank ATM withdrawals to Megalink, Bancnet, and Expressnet (I think) have no service charge. Again, my apologies for the confusion.

i suggest you get the BPI accaount. i guess it offers the most convenient ways of accessing your account. besides having many atm machines all around metro manila, it also has phonebanking and online services. these services are most useful when you want to transfer funds from one account to another without the hassle of going to the banks... especially during holidays. i can be updated of my account with a touch of the phone...

other banks offer similar services as well. but i find bpi's services most convenient.

the only problem i see with having a bpi atm account is that, the atm machines are often offline during the 15th and 31st day of every month.

caution though, if you have an bpi atm account, don't ever make your transactions with cirrus atm machine (banks include HSBC and Metrobank i think). they will charge you DOLLARS even for just a balance inquiry.

AKo sanay ako sa BP kse ito nga pinaka convenient dahil kahit saan meron. Pero ang payroll namin kse is being changed from BPI to Philam Bank kse sa Philam ako...akala namin ma hahassle kme pero ang perks nga nun is walang inter bank charges so kahit saan pwd na kme mag withdraw.

i suggest having both bpi (accessibility wise since maliit *** naman ang maintaining balance) and bancnet kasi bills payment are very convenient sa bancnet (i use my allied payroll acount to pay my globe and standard credit card bills, etc)
