RLboy, all you need is confidence. kung gusto mo maging supermodel, ibang usapan naman yun. u need to be at least 5'11 with well built body and of course, confident pa ren... hindi nawawala yun...

I definitely know that one should have confidence, but what does it take to be a commercial / print ad model?

Like how do one have to start? Does one need to go through countless auditions, VTR's and the like?

RLboy, you can go to modelshop.. they do VTR's. it's free naman.. if you wannah do print/commercial, you have to have nice smile. nice teeth, nice skin, nice hair. kahit di ka masyadong maganda features.

sometimes depends sa project. di ba me commercials na super simple lang yung itsura nung mga models? so, depende talaga.

RLboy, first, u need to go to a talent agency. any talent agency or agent that u think u can trust. then u will need to give them your pictures. 1 whole body, 1 close-up and 1 half body. the size should be 3R. then they will ask u to have your vtr done in their office. then they'll call u na lang if there's a vtr or casting. there will be times that they need models that don't have the nicest teeth... it will alway depend on the role that will best suit your look. pero to have more commercials, kailangan nice set of teeth (no braces) if you have retainers, take them off if u have VTR. ang skin naman should be nice enough coz there are things like huge zits that make-up can't cover-up. there are models who have blemishes pero they still get alot of modeling jobs. mas kaya kasing itago ng make-up ang blemishes... ^_^

bushi_princess and Ferrari25, the height really doesn't matter sa print and TVC. what's important is u have the look they wanted and the confidence. meron din naman mga panget sa TVC's di ba? kung sa runway naman, meron nga akong nakilalang guy sa isang go-see minsan na 5'5 lang pero nagkakaron sya minsan ng runway projects. depende nga lang where yung show and kung designer ba sya o branded lang. kung sa mall lang ang show and hindi sya haute couture, kukunin nila ang maliit kung magaling magdala at magproject.
kaya galingan nyo na lang! ^_^ punta lang kayo sa kahit anong talent agency and bring 3R pictures. they should be whole body, half body, and close-up pix. they will ask u to fill-up a bio-data there tapos mag-VTR ka na for the talent agency. read previous msgs to know what talent agencies are there. meron din ibang talent agencies na hindi nakalagay dun but i don't know their addresses nor contacts. i just heard of them... ^_^

avenger, u may be referring to talent agencies.... browse through past replies here. they posted alot of agencies... ^_^

glamour, i never heard of that. try mo sa iba na mas kilala.. like yung modelshop.. basta yung mga naka-list sa past replies. kung international ramp modeling lang din, kailangan mas matangkad pa sa 5'7. pero pwede sa international print and TVC. kahit san agency ka pumunta, minsan meron ren talaga silang int'l job offers for u.

well, pretty or not, minsan nadadala yan sa make-up. hindi lang sa make-up, kundi pati confidence mo. dami nga ako lagi nakikita sa mga VTR and go-sees na nde naman talaga maganda pero confident sila kaya mas napipili sila kesa sa akin! hehehehe
