    hi! bat wala ng nagpopost?

ako may question.. is it advisable to keep taking medication to make u menstruate? Coz there are risks like cancer involved right?

  4. #84
hmm... good question gilmoregal. i take provera din to jumpstart my period. pero sabi ng RE ko, mas masama naman daw kung di ka magkaroon ng period ng matagal. kailangang i-shed yung lining. what's your say on this, doc? tnx.

  5. #85
how long have u been taking provera?

  6. #86
Your taking these hormone pills, which have progesterone, actually protect you from uterine cancer. Without the pills, you have too much estrogen in your body that's not counterbalanced by progesterone. This constant bombardment of estrogen may cause an increased risk of uterine (and some say breast and ovarian) cancer.

This is genetic, isn't it? as many of my relatives on my mother's side have the same problems.

Also, is it true that stress affects my condition?

i have few estrogen as well as proigesterone. Should i worry about having uterine cancer? ira what's ur opinion regarding t continuous taking of estrogen+progesterone medicine just to make me menstruate?

  9. #89
It's still unknown whether PCOS is genetic or not, although recent studies imply it's a multi-gene disorder. Stress may affect the condition I guess in some circuituous way, but not directly.

As I've mentioned, if you have PCOS, progesterone in the pills protects you from uterine cancer. The hormones aren't given primarily to make you menstruate. They're given to balance your hormone levels. The menstrual flow is a side effect of a more normal hormone level

    Mulit-gene disorder, Doc Ira?

    whoa.. what's that?

  11. #91
It means it involves several genes. It's not just like the simple one-gene dominant-allele nondominant allele things people studied in basic high school biology.

Hi doc ira! does profasi really help? last week i went to see my ob-gyne for my follicle monitoring and good news im ovulating na. My sonologist saw a 2.3cm follicle tapos he said that i should be back after 2 days kaya lang nde ako nakapunta. Tapos the next day my ob called and she said that i shoud go back to the clinic para ma-injectionan ng profasi. Unfortunately, nde ako nakapunta. Doc, does this mean that im going to start all over again?

You'll have to wait until your next ovulation.

Recently I was diagnosed with PCOS, I am trying so hard to get pregnant and I was having my period 2 times a month. I decided to see my Ob gyne and there she told me about my condition now. Since I want to get pregnant, she put me on clomid. i have taken this fertility pills for 5 days and done some trans-V to see if there is a follicle on my ovaries. luckily there was one on my left or right ovary, i am not sure anymore. she then suggested that we should do it more often. we used to do it once a week lang kasi. it's scary and it's really frustrating for most part ng process na to. But I am confident na with my ob and God's help, i can make it through.. =)

    Hello doc Ira,

I have also polycystic ovaries. actually dinaanan ko lahat ng stuff sa thread na to. I was having my menstration twice a month or every 18 days, so I decided to see my ob gyne. yung nga polycystic ovaries nga siya. so she put me on clomid and luckily nag ovulate ako the first try. I was taking 50g. it's been 26 days now and di pa din ako dinadatnan, I am really praying hard na sana I am pregnant na ****. I took the pregrnancy test nung 20th day ko and it was negative(do you think it's accurate?). When do you think should I take another one to see the real score?
