Hmmm...mahirap mag-aral sa science high school kasi they expect us to do many things in a little amount of time, and they expect you to do it all well. In my junior year I had school days starting at 7 am and ending at 7 pm! Daig pa ang may 9-5 job.

It was difficult, but the difficulty bonded us batchmates in a way that I think a normal school won't. Can't describe it, pero iba talaga eh. We do the best we can, but when our best was not enough, we got by with our collective kalokohan, and since most of us have brains (humility aside), our mischief was always inspired.

MaSci graduate here ...

maganda ang academic standards ng science high schools (well, nung panahon ko MaSci, PhiSci, at QueSci lang ang kilala). tama nga *** sinabi na sobra ang pressure mo to get into UP during your senior year. Kokonti lang talaga ang hindi pumapasa sa UPCAT.

When I was in college, mas bilib ang mga tao sa MaScians. ewan ko ba pero nawe-weirduhan sila sa mga ibang PhiSci (m not generalizing though). MaScians daw ay cool at the same time angat talaga talino- hehehe (hindi naman ako masyadong nagbubuhat ng bangko, ryt?).

Funny thing, a friend's sister took both the MaSci and PhiSci entrance exams. Di siya nakapasa sa MaSci but she passed PhiSci. Hmm, *** does that mean? Mas mahirap daw ang entrance exam ng Masci, sabi niya. Natutuwa naman ako ehehehe. PhiSci nowadays ata automatically takes the top 2 or 3 of every elementary school (esp provincial schools), kaya there's also a chance na bumaba nang konti quality of students when they enter the high school -- babawi na lang siguro sa high quality ng pagtuturo at student performance during high school mismo. Kaso, i recently heard baka ganun na rin daw ang mangyayari (o baka nangyayari na) sa MaSci. Hopefully, it's not true. Buhay ng MaSci pa naman ay pinapalibutan ng competition (whether they admit it or not) kaya dapat talagang pahirapan ang entrance exams para the best of the best talaga.

Sarap ng buhay MaSci (at ganun din ***** sa ibang science high schools), ang mga gamit mong libro eh yung makakapal na pang-college level (Mortimer, etc) hindi tulad ng ibang HS na SEDP books (na sobrang simplefied) kaya pagdating sa college hindi na malaking adjustment sa study habits.

One last thing, ang maganda sa MaSci pagdating mo ng college, inu-UNO lang ang mga math and science subjects (calculus, etc) na hindi ka pinagpapawisan.. hehehe

he he Sir derez is the son of Mam Derez who already passed away due to breast cancer. Sir D, like his mom, also teaches chem. Nakakatuwa ta;aga silang dalawa. Yup, mam labay is still there...

Mahirap na masayang mag-aral sa science high schools. Minsan, napaparatangan pang jologs. But come to think of it, while other exclusive schools focus on athletic competitions and cheerdance competitions, science high school students are sweating it out on international competitions, representing the country and sometimes bringing home the bacon!

OO! ahehehe... ang lapit sa sm eh! jowk.(bawal pumasok hanggat ala pang 5, daan *** tower records kung gs2 nio talaga pumasok...ehehe) Mahirap? hnde. well depende kung gs2 mo pahirapan sarili mo... mataas ang passing grade pero hnde naman mahirap mag-cope. Pero na lang ***** kung gs2 mo maging honor...(85 sa major, 83 sa minor: tapos kung gs2 mo maging honor pag graduate, research dpat 90 up, at dpat walang bagsak sa kahit anung subject 1st to 4th yir)

At saka pag nasanay ka na, wala na lang siya... para ka na *** din pumasok sa kahit na anong normal high skul...

excuse me, pero hindi naman ganun kababaw ang pisay... hanggang ngayon, nagpapaexam pa rin ang pisay sa lahat. hindi porke't nasa top 3 ka ng grade school, automatic pasok ka na sa pisay...

btw, 95% passing rate ng pisay 2005, well make that 100% since nagappeal sila... 24 oblation scholars, 3 merit scholars sa ateneo... sabi nga nila e yung old school pisay, napagkakamalang automatic na admitted sa up at hindi na pinaguUPCAT... yun pala, laging 100% dati...

masci here.. batch 04.. ako ata ang pinakabatang masci dito.. hehe.. anyway.. nung 1st yr ko lang naabutan si mam banta.. masasabi kong strikta ** pero maganda ang handling niya sa skul.. as in sobrang ganda.. namaintain niya ang high standards ng masci.. pero nung nawala na ** at napalitan na ng mga principal na.. ewan ko ba.. hehe.. ayun unti-unti nang nagdedegrade ang masci.. i hate to admit but that is the truth.. as a matter of fact.. ang batch 05 ang huling nakaranas ng 2 entrance exam.. ang batch 06 downwards 1 na lang.. yung iba palakasan pa sa city hall.. nyahaha.. tcaka yung automatic admission ng i think top 2 or 3 ng public elementary schools sa manila.. hindi ko alam kung natuloy yung puro manilenyo na lang ang mag-aaral sa masci.. di na ata.. hehe.. hawak na kc ng city hall ang masci kaya kung anu-anung korupsyon ang nangyari.. but despite of these.. masci can still competes on other science high schools.. especially pisay and quesci.. and a large percentage still passes UPCAT.. although i didnt pass.. nyahaha.. now that im in college.. frankly speaking di ako nahihirapan.. dahil sa training sa masci na para ka talagang nasa college.. sa libro mo pa lang eh.. haha.. tcaka yung time ngayon sa masci di na hanggang 7pm.. the earliest is 4pm and the latest is 6pm..

and i almost forgot.. the faculty of masci is degrading too.. coz tangap na lang sila ng tangap w/o screening them thoroughly (tama ba spelling.. hehe..) yung ibang teacher.. hindi sa mayabang.. mga wrong grammar.. hehe.. tcka mukang di **** nila forte yung tnuturo nila.. wala lang.. tcka yung mga crap na policies ng masci.. hehe.. but despite of these.. i still love masci.. and i hope in the future may pagmamayabang ako sa resume ko.. hehe.. tcaka may mapupuntahang alumni homecoming.. wala lang.. ciao!

Though I am no Mascian nor "Pisayan," I have friends who have studied in those schools. Grabe, they're so galing. Ako, I've tried entering to those two schools. Phi Scie, failed ako sa second screening. Ma Scie, second screening failed din ako. Nyahaha.
