at most probably di nyo pa kilala yang skul namin, 2005 foundation eh... were just the the third batch of graduate, mahirap talaga mag aral sa regional science high school, lalo na ang SIP na kailangang i defend, at kung bumagsak ay possible na ndi maka graduate.... i will be defending my SIP by next week..

yeah, super duper mhirap talaga ang SIP, kalbaryo ng mga 4th year studs..di makka-graduate pag di pumasa sa defense..hehehe!

in our school, third year plang may SIP na kami..imagine two times kami sumalang sa oral defense - 3rd and 4th yr...mygeeed...!

graduated 2004..CRSHS Batch 5!

1st - lavoisier (others; einstein and copernicus..nung mag 4th yr kami, another section was added sa 1st yr which was flemming)
2nd - pasteur (others; aristotle and socrates)
3rd - archimedes (others; newton and galileo)
4th - boyle (others; bohr and darwin)

and in one section, we were like 20+ students only..ganon kakonti ang population ng science high..hehehe..

considered ba ang General Comprehensive HS na may ESEP curriculum as Science HS? ESEP kasi kami at accdng to wiki, there are 3 types of Science HS daw in the Philippines at kasama kami dun, kaya makikisama na din ako. Haha
Samin mataas din ang standards lalo na ang mortality rate sa pagretain sa curriculum namin. Nung 1st yr ako, yung entrance test was administered by DOST at may cut-off score na sinunod kaya we entered the school only with only 29 students in our section. Ngayong 3rd yr naman namin, we were only 24 in our section and the entire 3rd yr population in our curriculum. Reason for removal is the passing rate in Geometry and Filipino in our 2nd yr. haha. and this yr, may isa o dalawa na naman na maaalis dahil bagsak sa adv.stat.
sabi nga daw, baka 10 na lang kaming grumaduate nxt yr.
yun lang. in short, mahirap magsurvive dahil sa combined pressure from super many extra-curricular activities at advanced subjects at yung mga minors na feeling major. Mas mahirap pa ngang makakuha ng mataas na grade sa minor subject dahil sa sobrang dami ng requirements pati na rin sa tests compared sa major na kahit di ka nagaaral papasa ka basta matalino ka talaga, eh sa minor, mapwepwersahan kang magaral.
-yung IP/Research din ang one thing na nagbobother masyado sa mga science hs students especially sa amin kasi masyadong matrabaho at lahat kami tamad at yung iba naman parang wala lang dahil para sa akin hndi sila naturally curious tulad ko. hahah.

yung mga ka batch ko nung elementary na nakapasok sa mga Science High School ang yaybang na nila nung nag High School na kami, hindi na sila namamansin. Tapos nung nagcollege ako sa UST nakita ko yung isa sa mga kaklase ko na nag science high school gulat na gulat ang tanung ba naman sakin "nakapasa ka dito sa UST" hahahahahahaha natawa na lang ako noon kasi siguro inisip niya ka level ko lang pala utak niya. Kasi nung elementary kami consistent Top 10 siya sa batch namin while ako naman average student lang ang average ko lang nung 4rth yr. High School ako is 80.40 pero nakapasa pa rin sa UST. hahahahahaha

-May bagong building na po, Science building katabi ng Maceda. Lalaki na po kasi ang population because of K-12
-Nagtribute po kami kahapon for Ma'am Okafor, Ma'am Vidal and Ma'am Manalo. Ma'am Feli has retired. Sir Derez was promoted. Sir Orines na po ang principal! Marami na pong bagong teachers, pero contrary to popular belief, naiiscreen pa rin po sila at magagaling pa rin.
-7 to 7 pa rin ho ang juniors, /laslas
-Wala na hong permanent star sec. Nagbabago every year, from either the last sec in alphabetical order, to the middle sec or kahit 'yung una. Iba-iba na daw to avoid labelling. )
-Ma'am Palisoc, Ma'am Okafor, Ma'am Lava = still here. MAPEH DEPT PRIDE!!
-Nakuha po natin ang Boy Mayor this year, pero nalimit sa 5 schools ang top positions so councilor na lang ang isa kong schoolmate.
-Sad ang Christmas party this year kasi bawal ang food na galing sa labas, exchange gift, etc. Baka po wala ring intrams, pero inaayos pa ng SSG.
-talo pa rin tayo sa budget ahuhuhu

And witness po ako ng MaSci-PhiSci rivalry. Tuwing contest talaga e, ang tense lang talaga. Same with other Sci Highs na nakakalaban namin. =)) Business as usual pa rin po sa MaSci, and 'wag po kayo masyadong malungkot sa quality of education. Ang isang MaScian ay alam kung kelan pepetiks at magseseryoso. Look at the NAT last (or last last? haha) year po :P Mabuhay ang Sci Highs!

maganda rin po ang University of the Philippines Integrated School(UPIS). bakit hindi nyo sya sinama? pero magagandang schools rin yang mga sinabi nyo... Phisci, Masci and yang Quesci... pero talaga, para sakin, napakaganda ng UPIS.. maraming UPCAT passers dyan sa mga schools na yan. ACET na rin.. haha

hallou there. i guess it depends upon the person if he or she will make his/her life difficult, watever school pa man siya.

high standards? duh? i don't think so.... mahirap kasi sa mga science high schools, masyadong na-stereotyped ang mga students to be the best among the rest.

if i were to rank science high schools on what's the best among them, well...

1. Philippine Science High School ( for having the most number of bright students, unquestionably... and bcoz they're handled by DOST.)

2. Manila Science High School ( for giving Phisci a very good competition since time immemorial, and for always beating them actually in quiz shows.)

3. Quezon City Science High School ( for always getting the bright students who most often failed Phisci entrance exam, and for always giving the two schools above good competition.

I am not an alumni but I am planning to send my kids in Quezon Science HS located in Tayabas, Quezon.
