hallou there. i guess it depends upon the person if he or she will make his/her life difficult, watever school pa man siya.

high standards? duh? i don't think so.... mahirap kasi sa mga science high schools, masyadong na-stereotyped ang mga students to be the best among the rest.

if i were to rank science high schools on what's the best among them, well...

1. Philippine Science High School ( for having the most number of bright students, unquestionably... and bcoz they're handled by DOST.)

2. Manila Science High School ( for giving Phisci a very good competition since time immemorial, and for always beating them actually in quiz shows.)

3. Quezon City Science High School ( for always getting the bright students who most often failed Phisci entrance exam, and for always giving the two schools above good competition.

nothing follows.... other science high schools... nevah heard

hi! I'm a MaSci alumnus (class of '98)

to answer the questions, yes, mahirap talaga kasi mas marami ang subjects namin compared to non-science high schools. sa sobrang dami, may schedule kami dati nung 3rd year na hanggang 7 pm!!! on top of that, pahirapan na kung science fair at di maiiwasan na di namin pasukan yung ibang subjects kaya ang nangyari is harap-harapang cutting classes ha ha. nandiyan din yung pressure na dapat pumasa ka sa mga entrance exams ng mga top universities. Nung time namin, hinahanting ng principal yung di pumapasa sa UPCAT. Masaya rin pag may inter year (?) competitions saka pag lumalabas kami (actually sila lang, moral support lang ako he he) para magcompete with other schools. I'm so thankful na dito ako nag-aral (lahat naman yata tayo ganun) kasi ang dami kong natutunan dahil sa mga experiences ko.

masaya sa science hi kasi konti lang kayong estudyante compared to other public schools... mahirap ang program kasi marami kaming subjects, 2 math, 2 science ska research subject... malupet ang schedule kaya sobrang nakakapgod, luckily hindi naman kami umaabot ng gabi (tulad ng sa masci), saka kapitbahay namin ang sm kaya lakwatsa after school... ok din kasi the training helped us to to up and other top universities

as a science highschol student myself, i expect they would not settle for mediocrity and always seek for excellence

i'm from manila science high school...
sa first year mahirap, kasi adjustment period pa yan eh..but when you get along with the system at desensitize ka na sa pag-memorize ng mga numerous formulas and theorems dagdagan pa ng walang katapusang computer mnemonics, you'll get to enjoy it rin naman...lalo na ngayong tapos na ang lahat lahat ng pahirap... masarap din mag-aral sa masci lalo na pag alam mong every friday, half day kayo at pwede ng magliwaliw sa robinson's manila...watch ng movie... window shopping... etc...etc...etc...

ang medyo nakakatakot nga *** juz like introvert said, ang pagpasa ng UPCAT... we are more pressured not by the school but by our peers to pass...imaginin mo naman, every class, isa o dalawa *** ang bumabagsak ng UPCAT, kaya nakakahiyang hindi pagbutihan...loner ka pag nagkataon, invent ka pa ng reasons why you failed...grrr...

tang*na pare, walang kasing sayang mag-aral sa isang sci high schl. oo sige mahirap na kung mahirap, pero kung kapalit naman nun ay mga kaligayahang hatid ng pagsasama-sama niyo with your bathcmates for 4 years lagi sa iisang bubong, walang tulugan sa mga investigatory projects, graduated cylinder, beaker at gitara ang laging katabi matulog, ginagawa ng dorm ang laboratories, grabe ang saya diba?! kalungkot lang sa mga naki-kickout. at pagdating ng college, laki ng edge naten sa ibang studs. hay! ang swerte naten! matatalino na nga, tumalino pa lalo! minsan wala ng ngang pasukan sa sobrang dami ng contests na sinasalihan at pinapanalunan!

i am from quesci, nakakatuwa naman ang high school a, kaso pag pasok ko ng diliman e parang nasayang ang mga subjects ko nung h/s, accounting kasi yung course ko ngayon kaya wala rin akong edge sa ibang regular school lang, , pero proud pa rin ako!

bat naman nasayang ang mga subjects mo, di ba ang accounting, medyo math at analysis din yan, so kahit papano you learned skills on solving problems, dahil sa quesci...bombarment din ng mga math, statistics at research problems...well, that is kung masunuring mag-aaral ka at hindi bulakbol kagaya ko.

i'm from pisay-diliman, batch 2003. i didn't have an easy time during high school, being away from my family and having lots of subjects, but i can say that i had fun as well. i feel lucky that i had advanced topics in certain subjects back then, at least i'm not having a very hard time now in college.
