see, may lambing pag lasalle ang pag-uusapan.
palikpik, you are a LaSallian, pretending to be an airhead atenean, para nga naman ma=stereotype ang dream school ko.
the way you bash UST, la salle na la salle, kasi threatened kayo sa pagiging 3rd placer. walang dating ang UST sa mga totoong ateneans. threat ba sa ateneo ang pipitsuging pamantasan sa bahaing espana? hinde. kaya StOP fooling around, YOU ARE NOT AN ATENEAN.
you blew my cover, you nasty you!
very good job, sherlock!
hahahahaha.....
Taenista yang si palilik!!!
alam ninyo? wala na sa topic yang pinag gagagawa ninyo..
kung ganyan lang ang "4 top schools" di na ako magaaral dyan!
many people say that it's easy to pass the dlsucet...not for me though..i didn't pass their entrance exam...i was hoping for their ECE program...the only schools that i passed were Mapua for ECE and Ateneo for Interdisciplinary Studies...
eto lang naman sa amin ay personal opinion... and besides... bakit naman mag ooffer ng scholarship ang school eh kailangan nga nila ng money... duh!!!!Originally posted by reyna_elena
Xetradax, thats false. Financial background is the least factor na kinoconsider ng admissions office, they just ask for the annual income of our family for them to know if we need financial assistance, kasi kung pwedeng Star scholar ang grade mo, then you're from well-off family naman, they wont give you scholarships.
Bihira na ang obobs sa LaSalle, they usually go to espana ave or loyola heights.
and please lang wag na manglait ng ibang school diba.... pare pareho lang magaganda school na yan... we all have our own strengths and weaknesses... haaay! such immature individuals!!

oo nga eh...sabi nga nila..yung talagang pinakamagagaling ang kinukuha nila for that program...
Oh really? Are you sure? May kakilala po akong Star Scholar who's from Ayala Alabang... and some of them are RKs na! Hindi na kailangan pa ng scholarships actually.Originally posted by reyna_elena

Madali rin makapasok sa Lasalle kung yung mom or dad (mas maganda kung both) mo is a member of DLSAA... or kung may kapatid ka rin dun.. currently studying or member na din ng alumni.
Really??? Then, why is DLSU's passing rate below 50% in the Nov. 2003 ECE board exams?Originally posted by kaze_farang

slots (eligibility for admission) ang sinasabi ko...
PedophileTomato,
malaki ang galit mo kay FGT ah. asar ka ba sa kanya?
ang dami mo ng alternicks. pati ba naman yang away nyo sa uaap thread dadalhin mo dito?
before u judge la salle's performance in the nov 2003 board exams ( i have to agree though that indeed it was deplorable). go to the department and see the performance of its ece grads from the very beginning.
i know how bothered u are. ur school has just realized that it has to diversify and evolve. u just cant have a curriculum full of philosophy subjects. of course kailangan din ng science and technology diba? dapat balanse. perennial problem na yan. tignan mo kailan lang kayo nag-offer ng ece.
For your information, Ateneo's Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics departments are all Centers of Excellence. They have been around for more than 4 decades, and while it's true that ECE is a fairly new undertaking in AdMU, it's an old undertaking in the other Ateneo schools like Ateneo de Zamboanga, Ateneo de Davao, and Ateneo de Naga.Originally posted by genx77

I would prefer Ateneo's slow-but-sure growth strategy coupled with strict quality control over DLSU's reckless growth strategy (i.e., Jollibee clone?) Just look at DLSU's less than 50% passing rate in the Nov. 2003 ECE board exams. Isn't that a cause of concern? Now, compare that to Ateneo's pioneering batch's performance (higher than 70% passing rate, 4 Ateneans in the Top 20 out of a total of 16 who took the exams).
In addition, check out DLSU's performance in the Chemistry board exams. You'll find a historical average passing rate that is only slightly higher than 50% over the last 15 years, compared to Ateneo's higher than 95% average passing rate over the last 15 years.
Bottomline, I'll take a carefully planned growth strategy over a reckless one any day.
ON TOPIC
It's easy to get admitted in DLSU because the school is growing aggressively and therefore needs to admit many students to support its high overhead expense and expansion.
That's one of my petpeeves about DLSU. While there are many bright students, they are outnumbered by too many mediocre students and that does not serve our school well. On top of that, there are many courses that do not have any minimum grade requirements. It's possible to stay in the course even if one were only getting barely passing marks, Sana medyo stricter ang admissions. We need to set higher admission standards. Sayang ang mahal ng tuition kung kulang sa quality control.
The greatest test of ability is finishing the course, not getting into one!! The reputation of a university does not depend on its entrance examination, but the quality of graduates they produce!!!!
it is true that de la salle's expansion has raised several concerns over the quality of its graduates (even among the alumni) .
that is the reason why i concur with ur earlier post that the de la salle brand name is inconsistent and maybe has become dependent on w/c particular campus one belongs to; that, despite the fact that several programs are really incomparable.
u use several alternicks so i really dont know which to post. next time, i suggest that u use only one.
having said that, ppl should realize that lasallians can still be very strong and yet weak in certain areas because of its inconsistency. remember that this problem is not the sole concern of dlsu-m.
the degree of strength and weakness becomes relative because it is dependent on w/c sch u compare it to. of course, the specific program also counts.
in this case, we are comparing la salle's ece performance w/ admu. the similar programs requiring board exams of other ateneo schools are irrelevant.
likewise, we're talking abt its ece performance that span several decades. i welcome admu's outstanding performance. it is really remarkable.
however, one must not deplore the entire dlsu ece program on the basis of its november performance. by doing that one becomes blinded in recognizing la salle's sterling achievements in the past. this is precisely what ive been trying to explain.
this acknowledgement of inconsistency does not hinder la salle to have its share of COEs (i.e. college of science and college of engineering).
apart from chemistry and ece, what other board exam results can we use as basis to compare admu and dlsu-m? help me. mahirap talagang mag-compare kasi wala maliban sa dalawa. plus, u have to consider several results not just one. indeed, if you are correct in ur claim that admu is better than dlsu-m when it comes to chemistry then congrats to admu.
however, whether one likes it or not, dlsu's college of engineering is a force to reckon with. in fact, there have been heated debates in the past between engineers from dlsu and mgmt engr grads of admu. i dont see it disappearing, specially now.
inconsitency is definitely not limited to la salle. other schools are suffering such. of course, i will start another debate.
think of mba. i will not mention any school but for starters, ask around.
doctor in business ad naman? up-d at la salle lang ang kayang mag-offer at recognized internationally ha. sorry.
i said it before and i will say it again. up-d is by far the only institution in this part of the world that can lay claim to superiority in almost all areas at MEASURABLE pa. di na kailangan ng PR. la salle too cannot match up-d.

It's not DLSUEE, not DLSUCET. Besides, try to take the De La Salle test and if ever you get in, good for you. Experience asks one's questions and that is how I was taught in De La Salle. And to my fellow Lasallians, we all know that it feels good to get in DLSU.
ANIMO.
