    OT:

am a student and had a campus tour studying in different schools.

pre-school - parochial school (cant remember the name)
kinder - colegio de sta rosa
    prep/gradeschool - letran (exclusive)
    Highschool - mapua(coed)
    College - ust

Imho, kahit mahirap lang kami, ngayon ko napansin maganda combination ng schools ko.

Exclusive school elementary ko, maka-diyos yung school kaya na -instill yung mga values sa akin at gumaleng aku mag english.

Mapua - coed. I had my teen years here, since coed siya, di aku lumaking ***** when it comes to interacting with girls. Mahigpit ang rules ng school so di ka mapapariwara. Another thing, it is a technical and pre-engineering school kaya talagang magaling students sa electronics, weldingan, computer, pukpukan, at drawing. I got my interest in architecture because of this school. Pag -alis mu ditu, ang galing mu sa math, science and sa pagkakarpintero, plus the fact na laberboy ka pa!

Ust - chose this dahil center of excellence ang ust sa architecture.

TUITION: How much are you paying?

    Hi all,

Need your help, I would like to get an idea of how much tuition is in other schools. My son is now in Kinder2 at La Salle Greenhills and it will now cost P98,000!!!
We plan to appeal to the school on freezing the annual 8-10% increase...

Kindly post here how much you are paying and what private school your child is attending, or plans to attend...regardless of whether boys or girls schools, or even co-ed.
The info will help us so that we can say that La Salle is too expensive compared to other private schools..

I am also looking around for a girls school for my daughter.....

    Thanks!!

Naku di pa nga nag eexam sumasakit na ulo ko. My 3 children goes to Southville International School here in BF Las Pinas. For incoming grade 3, tuition fees next year is around 110,000 to 120,000pesos. I don't mind paying that much for as long as I am assured of a quality education, which I believed Iam getting in this school naman. The question is, does the kind of school your children goes to matter? Some people say that pareho pareho lang naman where you send your children, nasa bata naman kung magaling o hindi. Please enlightened me on this aspect. Thanks

is the 98k tuition only or inclusive of fees?

in northfield (a PAREF school like Southridge) they charge 65k for tuition for prep.

in ateneo they charge 69k for tuition for prep although they have an increase slated for approval this july.

    hope this helps.

    All in fees

    Hi,

The 98k for LSGH includes tuition and all other misc. charges....I guess international schools are really more expensive...

as for Paref and Ateneo, is the 69k all-in as well? if it is, that is much more affordable, i always thought that Paref was more expensive...

    thanks

  7. #67
for ateneo including misc fees i paid about 75k++

paref southridge is about 90k++ northfield being a smaller school i guess has a lower tuition....

Elementary and High school in Manila is Good.

but college, save your money and send your kids abroad.

I studied elem and high school in an exclusive school in Manila and its all good then I decided to take some bachelor's degree in AC and in CSB. They ain't worth the money my pay-rents paid for.

Now, I'm in UCLA. First year, taking-up Asian American Studies. I pay $23-33,000/ year. It doesn't include my Board and Lodging etc. But its all worth it. This summer, instead of going back to the Philippines for a vacation, I'll be an Intern at Toyota Motors and I'll still be earnin some dough and I'm still in my first year plus I get to go to Japan this December.

    Talk about fine livin.

^Depends on which college you go to in Pinas. Some of them do give value for money just as some cost an arm and a leg and give you a desk, an airconditioned classroom and little else.

$33,000 a year is astronomical in Pinoy terms. If I paid a school here P1.7M a year for 4 years, they'd name a wing after me.

I'm not yet aware of other universities/colleges that teach Mandarin, except for Chiang Kai Shek College (Masangkay).. Kung high school/grade school naman, most chinese schools here have incorporated Mandarin already as the main language of instruction for Chinese subjects. Hindi na Fookien gaya ng dati..

Would you say ok ang education sa CSA? I mean compared to how princessfiona described how satisfied siya sa Ateneo de Manila? I have a 4 year old son kase and I'm contemplating on what elementary school to enroll him to. I'm thinking La Salle Greenhills or Ateneo or CSA or Southridge. Any comments on any of these schools?

Any recommended schools in Manila, preferably private and co-ed, that offers elementary education? I'm scouting for a grade school for my 6-year-old daughter kaso di ko magawa dahil nasa Singapore pa kami. So, online pa lang ako nakakapag research. Pa-advise naman po, syempre pati na rin tuition kung me idea. Thanks!
