but yeah i have to admit amongst my friends ako lang ganito ang case. sila braces before the retainers.
The problem with retainers is it's very difficult to control the movement of teeth in all three planes of space ( horizontal, vertical and lateral direction).

For your upper, it's fortunate your happy with the result. It doesn't always end up that way though.

A retainer is meant to hold teeth, not move them.

It is your choice in the end, I'm just giving you options and suggestions so you can make an informed decision.

    Best of luck to you.

my ortho is my dentist simula nung bata pa ko, kaya lang im planning to change ortho dahil ang hirap mkpag-appoint sa kanya becoz he's too busy coz aside from being a dentist, nag-nursing na din cxa. and at the same time, i felt n d mxdong naalagaan na ang ngipin ko especially right now na i have braces on. for example sa ngipin ko sa taas ng-align cxa pero me sira n lumabas. tinanong ko sa kanya kung maayos pa sabi nia hindi n kc ayun dw *** sirang ngipin n nkalubog dati nung di pa cxa pantay, aayusin nlang dw un kapag tinanggal n *** braces ko sa taas.. eh minsan nkkailang kc *** sira nia sa gitna talaga ng ngpin ko sa taas. meron ba kayong mare-recommend na ok na dentist somewhere in san pedro, laguna? and at the same time question ko lang, how many times ba dapat ang cleaning kapag nka-braces kc sakin up to now ndi pa kami ngclea2ning eh, ma-1 year n braces ko by july.

choloy - you should undergo oral prophylaxis as often as needed, signs in which your attending would see upon adjustment of your braces, the severity of dirt accumulating on a patient wearing braces differs form one another, however home care such as proper toothbrushing, flossing are highly recommended

With braces, your teeth should be cleaned 4 times in 1 year.

Ang bayad sa cleaning ay hiwalay sa bayad sa braces. You pay extra for the cleaning.

For the cavity, you can request for the wire and the bracket to be removed first para mapastahan ang ipin mo. After mapastahan, ikakabit na lang ulit yung bracket at yung wire.

Use dental floss and brush often para di mag-kasira pag may braces. It's very hard to keep your teeth clean when you have braces, if you do not floss you'll really be prone to developing cavities.

Try Dr. Mary Melanie V. Aquino or Dr. Grace O. Baybay
    Good luck.

Yes, I guess it would be ok to have your cleaning done somewhere else.

Transferring to another orthdontist can either be simple or complicated.

It's simple when your new orthodontist is familiar with the bracket system you are currently using and does not have to put new attachments. Your initial payment will be P3,000 then P2,000 per month.

It's complicated when your new orthodontist does not like the bracket system you currently have and would request to have it removed. You will receive a brand new set of braces. You will pay P2,000 for the removal of your old braces. You will then pay a new schedule of fees (anywhere from P80,000 to P140,000) for your brand new braces.

Before transferring, visit your prospective new orthodontist first, bring your old records (x-rays, pictures and model casts) from your previous orthodontist so that you'll be given an idea as to how much you'll spend. You might be asked to have new records taken.

mukhang complicated pala cxa noh? eh pano yun, wala nmng pictures taken sakin dati nung dentist ko eh. ako pa nga ngpi-picture sa sarili kong ngipin using my cellphone to see if theres improvement every month.

nung sa model casts nmn, naaalala ko mukhang na-misplaced n ata ng ortho ko *** akin..kc i remembered when he asked me kung binigay dw ba nia sakin *** cast ko so i assume ganun din *** sa xray ko pwede din ba precopy un? heheh punta ako dun sa pinagpa-xrayan ko last year?? pwde kaya un doc

    huhuhuhuhuhuhuhu, nakakaiyak nmn ito....

Unless your records are computerized/digitized, I doubt you'll be able to retrieve your old records, assuming they got lost.

    Walang litrato? Ba't ganuon?

Should you decide to transfer to a new orthodontist, the orthodontist will ask that you have new records taken.

Your question is actually off-topic and has nothing to do with Orthodontics/Braces but I'll answer it

" I want sana yung magpalinis ngipin(via yung may blue lights)" -
The blue light you are referring to is used either to harden tooth-colored fillings (pasta) or is used to activate light-sensitive bleaching agents (which will whiten your teeth).

We don't use the blue light for oral prophylaxis (pagpapalinis, pagtatanggal ng dumi) , that's a totally different procedure.

"yung sa titanium na implant mga 3 kasi sira na talaga ayaw ko naman may awang baka gumalaw ibang teeth ko,if ever matuloy me sa operation kasi I workout po sa gym meaning titigil ko po yung workout for the mean time? di ba sabi nila bawal daw magbuhat mabigat"

Do you mean you have 3 titanium implants which are defective (sira) or do you mean you have 3 badly broken down teeth which will be replaced with implants?

Yes, since implant placement is a surgical procedure, it is advise you avoid strenuous physical activity (such as lifting heavy weights) for 2 to 3 weeks or longer. When you lift heavy weights, you will tend to clench your teeth and this might cause dislodgement (pagkakatanggal) of the implants.

    huhuhuhu nkakaiyak talaga...

pero doc, ask ko lang poh kc ngayon talagang nghhnap nko ng prospect to be my next ortho now while im doing that im planning na magpalinis muna para di nmn mshock *** bagong ortho ko pag ngkita kami , now my question is kapag ngcleaning po ba ako sa iba ***** (kc gagamitin ko *** maxicare ko) tatanggalin po ba *** wire sa ngipin ko? kc *** ngpin ko sa taas bukod dun sa archwire eh me mga wire pa n mga nkapilipit. *** sa baba nmn as usual lang me rubber tapos *** arch wire..

Your teeth will be cleaned as is.

The surgery is anywhere from P150,000 to P300,000. The orthodontics/braces would be from P80,000 to P140,000.

For example, P100,000 braces plus P200,000 surgery equals roughly P300,000.

Just to add, orthognathic surgery is performed by not one, but two specialists, one would be an Orthodontist, another would be an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Your questions are not related to orthodontics but I'll answer your inquiry anyway.

    1. Regarding the prices, the prices offered by the Dental gems clinic seem pretty fair.

    2. Dental gems, si Dr. Abesamis ba yung may-aari nito (I'm not sure)? Baka naman may Abesamis Dental clinic kang makita sa Festival Mall. If so, then it would be ok to have your sibling treated there. Yung clinic ni Dr. Abesamis sa festival mall is staffed by dentists who are UP or UE graduates.

    3. Regarding the condition of your sibling, since I can't physically examine him, I can't give you a completely objective assessment.

    Good luck.
