hi!
ask ko lang po kung taga SMART communications ka?
It is the number 1 employer in the Philippines for 2003 (according to a survey basing it on employee satisfaction). I knew a friend who works there, OK daw ang pay but the work is somehow draining (depends on what department you are in). I think they have the highest months-of-pay/ year in the country, amounting to more than 18 months of pay a year.
Its a booming industry (obviously), telecommunications. So you would expect a stable and secure company that offers lots of room for professional growth.
Yes they do pay around 17-18 months per year, but the work that you put in is also equivalent to that. So imagine that. If you're prepared for that, then go for it.
But you also have to be prepared to accept with whatever business decisions that they make, even if you don't agree with them.
Ask around about the big bosses. I've heard that some people did not even consider offers because of them. To others, getting an 18th month pay isn't worth it.
And even if they're a big company, I get the feeling that they lack people in some departments.
Yun lang po.
hmmm.. are they hiring? how do i apply? i already have some work experience. but mostly in two call centers with regard to computer hardware and policies and procedures.
thanks!
i heard that SMART Communications is one of the best employers in the country. My friend is working there.![]()

They have a resume databank @ www.smart.com.ph
according to a friend, there's a rumor within the company that they might even have a 19th month pay this year![]()
Kamusta naman yung basic pay nila and other benefits?
PurplePumpkin24: Yes, I just meant that the work is hell. When you're paid for a month, that's around 20 days. So if you get paid 18 months a year, it's like you're working an extra (20x5) 100 days when there really are no extra days. So the 100 days x 8 hours, or 800 hours extra, you'll have to spread within the year.
Some people are not cut out for that kind of job, some people are just not willing to do that. Some people want to enjoy other things.
That's what I meant.
Siyempre, Smart Communications is a First Pacific Company. It's run fast-paced HongKong style.
i have a bunch of friends who work for smart. all of them hold high positions pa. and all of them are slowly looking for other jobs. i once asked one of them, a telecenter manager, why she wanted to quit. she said that the job was so routinary that she felt there was no challenge anymore and that although the pay was quite high, the long hours that the company required them to put in were too much. it's true that some of the departments are under-manned. my manager-friend told me that answering phone calls, entertaining e-load customers and answering emails from other departments were part of her everyday job at the office kahit na sana sa isang assistant na lang yun. the good part though, the company lavishes them with trainings left and right. additional points yan for her resume, she said. most of them in waterfront cebu, 2-3 days, all expenses paid tapos they also have pocket money. plus most of the time she gets the latest cellular phone model for free or through a plan...so ayun...share ko lang![]()
