It might be possible but only with medication. Have your boyfriend consult with a gastroenterologist for proper guidance and treatment. He cannot pass the hepatitis B to his child, though if he infects the mother with hepatitis B then the mother can pass the virus to the child.

The transmission of hepatitis B through sexual contact is not 100%, however every contact carries the risk of transmission. Thus anyone in sexual contact with a person that has chronic hepatitis B should have hepatitis B vaccination with documented antibodies (anti-HBs) of at least 10 mIU/mL.

    No.

I suggest you read the CDC Hepatitis B FAQ if you wish to know more about hepatitis B.

According to the CDC, a person who received the hepatitis B vaccine and had a documented response (an anti-HBs > 10 mIU/mL) has long-term protection from hepatitis B and does NOT require booster doses. Even if the anti-HBs titer drops below 10 or even become zero, the immune system's response to a hepatitis B infection is still intact and will provide lifetime protection. Thus it is NOT sufficient to just undergo vaccination, a response to the vaccination (anti-HBs titer) must be documented to make sure the vaccine worked in the first place.

If you have doubts then you can have an antibody titer done, if it's at least 10 mIU/mL then you are protected from hepatitis B. Alternatively, you can just assume that your old vaccination didn't work so you can undergo the full regimen again (3 doses) then check your anti-HBs titer after.

Hello everyone...

Male po ako, 34 yrs old and I had undergone a medical test po 2 weeks ago for employment sa Qatar and the clinic found that i was HBsAg reactive. Yung initial screening po lumabas na S/CO = 0.074/0.064. niretest po ako after a week at ang lumabas ay S/CO = 0.087/0.064. Ang advice po sa akin is to have confirmatory test for my HBsAg sa DOH accredited hospital.

    Here are my questions:
    1. Ano po ang chances na non-reactive po ang HBsAg ko after ng confirmatory tests given na mababa naman po ang mga values na nakuha during the initial screening at sa retest.

    2. Is there a way po ba na bumaba sa cut-off yung HBsAg ko?

I dunno what those figures mean because nobody here uses them. Just have a "real" hepatitis profile done (not just a screening) so that a definitive answer can be arrived at.

    Hepa B Surface Antigen - Reactive - 1998.66 count - cut-off 1.0
    Anti HBS - Non Reactive - 0.22 count - cut-off 10.0
    Anti HBC - Reactive - 13.22 count - cut-off 1.0
    HBE Antigen - Non Reactive - 0.674 count - cut-off 1.0
    Anti HBE - reactive - 0.01 count - cut-off 1.0
    Anti HAV (IgG) - Non reactive - 0.33 count - cut-off 1.000

The doctor advise to take a medicine Baraclude pero me kamahalan po meron po bang gamot na pwedeng i-take na pereho nyan na mas mababang presyo?

Salamat po in advance sa reply at tulong nyo. God bless you.

Your hepatitis profile is consistent with a chronic hepatitis B infection. There are several treatment options for this condition but unfortunately none of them are cheap. You should tell your doctor if you think you cannot sustain the suggested treatment so that you can discuss other options that are both sustainable (financial-wise) and appropriate.

    hi bago lang ako dito...

ask ko lang if im totally protected to hepa b if i completed the 3 doses and booster dose? because very conscious about this topic due to my boyfriend have hepa b and were planning to get married.

according to my last titer of anti hbsag morethan 1000 pa *** unit nya

  18. #1038
You are protected from hepatitis B as shown by your anti-HBsAg titer. It's a misconception that hepatitis B requires booster doses, what's only necessary is vaccination followed by documentation that the anti-HBsAg is > 10, after that even if the antibody titer drops to zero booster doses are NOT necessary.

    Hello everyone!

Someone who is really dear to me has hep B and were just waiting for the results of the next test.

I want to be prepared should things be unwell. I know naman na its not a death sentence and lifestyle change talaga siya if ever na chronic siya.

I also want my friend to be take a positive approach in this. My other friend who received a kidney transplant said that support groups help a lot.

In this light, can someone suggest a Hep B support group? My friend isn't the kind who would want to go to support groups but someone who really cares wants to get as much info and advice as possible. Kung puwede talaga face to face na usapan or at least live.

    Thanks in advanced

    PS:

Ang method ko ngayon is to take it as positive as possible. although I should admit na kung nahihirapan siya or nagiging malunkot siya about it nahihirapan din ako.
