men in blue advances to the 2nd round!!
*fist bump*
too bad the sens came up short, same with the panthers. the two teams i don't want to win the cup are up against each other.
Better late than never, but congrats to the Rangers for beating my Capitals and moving on to the EC Final. What an amazing series.
As for my Caps, well... coach Dale Hunter just quit, and Alex Semin's agent said he won't be coming back to Washington. Dammit...
I'm deeply disappointed that nobody here noticed on where the LA Kings' Cinderella express is heading right now...
LA Kings will probably win the Cup. Since 2008 The eventual winner of The Stanley Cup has swept, at least, one series. NYR and NJD have not swept a series in any of the rounds they played it so, if this trend continues, LA will take the cup.
As a Canucks fans, unlike The Blackhawsks or Bruins, I am completely fine with The Kings winning the Cup. The team worked hard and, unfortunately, The Canucks played poorly in the first two games and brought it on to themselves taking the early exit.
LA vs. NY Finals will be sexy, but I sure don't want the Rangers to win a 2nd Cup in my lifetime until The Canucks win their 1st. So I'm rooting for the Rangers in the Finals.
I'm more curious on how The Caps will be handling their goaltending situation next season. Holtby has been amazing in The Playoffs and has been a revelation playing so well in pressure games. Question now is with Vokoun a Free Agent Next Season, will the Caps resign Vokoun again as the starter, or will they not and have Holtby the starting goalie, or resign Vokoun and create a 1A and 1B Goaltending tandem with Holtby just like the Canucks and The Blues?
On a side note: I am glad to have a thread like this in PEX. Everywhere I go on the radio, TV, or friends all they are talking about right now is the NBA Playoffs. Which has gotten really annoying since I find the NBA or really that interesting (it's always more about backstage superstar ego's than the actual sport). I lived in The Philippines most of my life (23 years out of my 28) but no matter how much they show NBA, it's always been pretty meh to me. I'd rather watch the NFL as well.
Nice to see Fellow Filipinos enjoy this fine sport and league.
Anyways keep this thread alive![]()

Vokoun already said that he won't be back in Washington next season, but he is rumored to join the new Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team in the KHL.
As far as next season goes, I believe that the Caps are going forward with their young goalies Holtby and Neuvirth. Neuvirth split time with Vokoun on goal during the regular season, but injuries to both goalies provided an opportunity for Holtby to perform in the postseason, and he didn't disappoint.
As for who'll the starter be come October, we'll just have to wait and see.
Vokoun would probably be better off signing in the KHL since I'm sure he will get paid more and have a lighter schedule but I wouldn't be suprised if Goalie desperate team like Tampa or Colombus tries to pick him up.
Oh congratulations to the LA Kings for making it to the Stanley Cup Finals. At least there's one team from the Staples Center winning playoff games. Oh I should post this on Facebook ... so lame and clever :P
guess that won't be happening this year..after the devils sideswiped the rangers en route to the stanley cup.
and i most certainly second to that. this has always been a basketball country, which is ironic knowing the fact that we couldn't stand (and i mean literally stand vertically) a hell chance against the towering caucasians. yeah! thrown in the chinese, too in that equation!
guess there'll always be a lotta disillusioned dumbasses of a fanatics out there still dreaming of that basketball glory. walang basagan ng trip, ika nga.
*scoffs*
hold your head up high, blueshirt faithful. nothing to be ashamed of. we fought tooth & nail. we just don't have the devil of a prayer. still, there'll always be next year. until then..

Freaky Typo in my part ... my intention was to hope the Rangers don't make it to the finals. Thankfully they didn't.
Speaking of Vokoun ... looks like the Leafs are interested in signing him. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL.../19804841.html
Incredible Cinderella playoff run by the LA Kings continues...
10-0 record on road games... 12 consecutive road wins since last year's playoff.
14-2 playoff record... could match the 1987 Wayne Gretzky-led Edmonton Oiler 16-2 playoff record.
two more wins and they will become the first eighth seeded team to win the championship in US professional sports.
and still no love for this team... how sad...![]()
nakakabilib talaga LA Kings, halos hindi pa sila makapasok sa playoffs now 1 game away from the title.
tama ito na pinakamagandang nangyari sa US professional sports.![]()
Apparently not...
Pens acquire Vokoun from Caps for 7th-round draft pick.
congratulations to the Los Angeles Kings for winning the Stanley Cup, the first eighth-seeded team to win a professional US league.
Filipino-Romanian picked 7th in NHL draft
Hope this guy hits it big, Imagine the spike in popularity of the NHL in The Philippines if he does

My prediction for the next season standings
1. Rangers - they were hot last year and they added Nash.
2. Bruins - Thomas is gone but Rask was once an elite #1. Plus Bruins strength is their scoring anyways
3. Hurricanes - Added Staal and Semin. Nice!
4. Penguins - Will probably have the 2nd most points in the East but Rangers will take the Divsion lead
5. Sabers - Wild Card? But My prediction to win the Cup.
6. Flyers - Young team but lost a few pieces but will manage. I see them winning the cup in 2 to 3 years
7. Lightning - Added new pieces on the D. That's what they needed that's what they will get
8. Senators - Cuz there has to be a Canadian team in the Playoffs
9. Capitals - No Dale Hunter no Semin. What will happen to the Caps?
10. Panthers - Despite winning the SE division they had a losing record. Will they be as lucky next season? Will Luongo be the Goaltender for the Panthers?
11. Devils - Ouch on the Parise loss. Will Brouder be in top form? People doubted him last season but let's see if can still get the job done
12. Canadiens - ....
13. Jets - Winnipeg should be happy they have a team again
14. Islanders - Ummm nope
15. Maple Leafs - The collapse last season shows they need to make huge changes
1. Blues - Still has the best goaltending tandem now that Thomas is gone and Luongo is being traded. They were amazing until LA crippled them.
2. Kings - Found their mojo late in the season, will that continue next season?
3. Wild - Let's see what Parise and Suter can do.
4. Red Wings - Never count against the Red Wings even if Lindstrom as retired.
5. Canucks - Kesler injured the team still need to solidify its 2nd line.
6. Blackhawks - Still a great core (whose players I hate) but will be as good as the previous season.
7. Stars - Veteran signing of Jagr and Whitney could give them a boost until a late season slow down but enough to put them in playoff contention
8. Predators - lost Suter but still has Weber. Lost a few other players but Rinne will do the job.
9. Sharks - Has their window closed?
10. Oilers - They should improve it all depends on how they address their D.
11. Avalanche - hmmm ...
12. Coyotes - They lost Whitney are they going to lose Doan?
13. Ducks - I might be ranking them too low since they have an all star line up. Wait and see
14. Flames - The definition of Averageness
15. Blue Jackets - They lost Nash, they traded Carter, whose going to score for them. Also their goaltending!!
