The government should give the accused the chance to explain before it releases the info to the press.
Due process please.

Just another one of those "smoke and mirrors" technique.
But like most other political maneuverings, both "suspects" and the techniques to catch them will be soon disregarded and ignored, whena new bombastic scandal is revealed or a new can of worms is opened.
Here is the set of techniques the opposition uses to destabilize whoever is in power. The ones in power uses the same set of techniques to counter the oppostion. Meanwhile, the innocent people and the economy gets caught in the middle and gets hurt
1. Accusations
if that fails
2. Killings
if that fails
3. Random bombings
if that fails
4. Fabricate more lies then go bak to number 1 in this list.
I don't think we're denying government offficials and employees of due process when the info. from the lifestyle check is released to the public. Lifestyle checks are conducted to make transparent and accountable those public officials who may be living a lifestyle far beyond his financial means. Clearly, then, lifestyle checks are for public consumption.Originally posted by onwils

My poppa held arguably the most "financially lucrative" (if you're corrupt, that is) operational position in the police for four years. During his tenure, he's been through four PNP Chiefs and two Presidents before being replaced by a new administration unfavorable to those indentified with the previous one. He's now in the "freezer" so to speak.
Whatever lifestyle check done on him would reveal squat. He never enriched himself nor grossly abused his power for personal gain. And he's a damn good officer too. You can't say the same for many other people in government.
Taking hatchet jobs out of the equation, public officials who have no filth to hide have nothing to be afraid of.
