musculoskeletal pain does not always mean that you are hyperurecimic (increased blood uric acid levels). i suggest that if you really want to have your uric acid checked, go to your family doctor or any doctor for that matter and ask for a laboratory request. you may include fasting blood sugar, cholesterol and kidney function test. of course this is optional already. there is a drug to decrease uric acid levels but should only be taken after your lab. result confirms that you are indeed hyperuricemic. there are herbal preparations in the market. this however is not yet approved by the BFAD and its therapeutic value has yet to be established.

i'm only 25 years old, do you think at this age possible na mataas na nga uric acid ko?

    thanks a lot bjmanabat.

Gout does not necessarily have high levels of uric acid, and conversely, high levels of uric acid does not necessarily lead to gout. Your clinical presentation is not characteristic of gout, either. Gout only involves one joint. It's very, very painful, it has a very fast course, and the joint involved will be red and tender. You most probably are just experiencing either musculoskeletal pains, or transient decrease in blood flow in the affected area. Exercise regularly after warming up properly, and avoid staying in one position for a long time.

at age 25 its not common to have increased uric acid levels. its not impossible though! i just remember i have a cousin who is complaining about the same symptoms as you are. she was worked up at UST and the final diagnosis was juvenile rheumatoid arhtritis. of course your case may be different so if its bothering you for quite some time now i suggest you consult an internal medicine specialist or a rheumatologist if there's one available.
