    Arrow Your Favorite Sports Movie

Just thought of this seeing the trailer of "For Love of the Game." That is one of my favorites coz of the love story angle revolving around sports, like "Jerry Maguire."

My others are "Any Given Sunday," "The Program," "Hoosiers," and "Field of Dreams."

    Kayo ano at bakit?

I absolutely love "Chariots of Fire" and "Rudy" since both are based on true stories.

Chariots won best picture sa Oscar's. The fact that the main character Eric Lidell (not sure bout the last name) chose not to run in his speciality event since it fell on the Sabbath and still won the gold in another event just blew me away. Tapos the teammate who replaced him in his specialty event won the gold rin. Hanep! It shows how ultimately God rewards those who put Him above all. Classic scene yung huli na they were all running on the beach wearing white tapos yung music from Vangelis pinapatugtog.

Rudy Rudiger (not sure if the last name is spelled right) is the ultimate underdog. I saw this football movie on a flight back from the States back in 1994 three times (they kept on replaying it). Naluha ako sa seat ko and it gave me goose bumps. Kahit ilan seconds lang siya naglaro during the last game of Notre Dame, he still did what he set out to do. I could relate because I was always the shortest guy and always got cut when I tried out for varsity before I ultimately made the men's track and field team during my senior year. This a classic sports movie about hope and dreams.

I also like Hoop Dreams and Jerry Maguire. I want to see Bend it like Beckham coz galing raw. I can't wait to see Seabiscuit, which I'm reading right now. Oscar contender raw yung film with Spiderman Toby Maguire playing the role of the jockey. I also heard that they're doing Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch pero instead of Arsenal football/ soccer they will Americanize it an feature the Boston Red Sox with Matt Damon as the lead character.

    In no particular order:

    "Bull Durham"

"For the Love of the Game", what?! 2 Kevin Costner movies?!!

"Shoot That Ball" with Tito, Vic and Joey

    "Escape to Victory"

"North Shore", if surfing is considered a sport...must've seen this movie 5+ times

Oh yeah, I watched a low-budget British film based on Fever Pitch. But it was crap specially the end because the movie ended with Arsenal winning the Double and then people filtered out into the street after watching the game on TV with everyone hugging each other.

Let's hope the American version plays better.

could you even tell that Ray Allen had a different day job? This is clearly one of the best performances by an athlete in a movie.

My favorite sports movie is "Space Jam" because it reminds me of my senior year in high school. Everyone from my class loved it. If "Jerry Maguire" can be categorized as such, then it is also one of my favorite sports flick.
