FYI:
The pool in ULTRA is not that clean...ang daming lumot and obviously lacks the cleaning it should have.
Another boo-boo is sometimes, walang tubig sa shower rooms! You'll be forced to use the water in their drums (not sure pa if its clean/cleaned).
Pero kung ok lang sa inyo ang mga ito...ok lang siguro to swim there since madami din naman talagang nag-si-swim doon.
So if the little inconvenience is fine with you guys, swim na!
Btw, may pool din sa kapitolyo...(luma nga lang din 25m lang)
ice_demon: how much do you charge (per session?) for training? do you also teach in other pools?Originally posted by ice_demon
hi guys, i'm a swimming instructor at ymca w/ 2 years experience trained by coaches of taipei. (mmm... make that 3) please pvt msg me for more info or emailthanks!
Peace!
hi blueshark, you did say "training" right? so i assume marunong ka na? may dalawang klase kasi, training and learning... so if training, sa ymca (binondo area) it will cost you around p1500 (6 sessions, one and half hour each session, random swimming instructor). if you want to learn how to swim, same yun cost sa ymca. nagtuturo din ako sa labas ng ymca (kp tower, binondo galleria, rp... ) but learning lang, no trainings since wala akong mahanap na 25 meters na pool (mostly kung 25 meters e bawal magturo ang mga outsiders)Originally posted by blueshark

outside ymca, i only charge p180 per session (total of 10 sessions 1 and half an hour each). i can provide the pool, no extra cost, but around 12 meters lang siya.

thanks for the reply. Yep, marunong na akong mag-swim ng freestyle and breathstroke, pero i'm not a swimmer talaga. Gusto ko lang matuto to swim the proper/right way. Syempre iba 'pag may nagtuturo. I also want to learn how to do the backstroke and butterfly.
Thanks for the info kaya lang, mukhang malayo ang binondo since I'm nearer to the ortigas area.
ah, yup. it's always better to know the proper way. btw, it's breaststroke.Originally posted by blueshark

no reservations needed in both pools.
Yung sa kapitolyo, it's located inside the provincial kapitol beside the tennis courts and near power-up.
2 or 3 years ago I purchased a poolside membership in Hotel Intercon. Siyempre mahal, P4,500 for 1 month, unlimited use.
Wala bang taga Paranaque dito na type ding mag-swim for fitness and recreation?
Just swam at ULTRA a few days ago (in the morning) after a very long time.
a day before that, I went there to ask at what time they open the pool to the public, the attendant said 5:30 am.
Tsk,tsk, when I got there (buti na lang late - mga 7:30am), the person accepting the fees told me they open only at 8am!
Anyway, I paid the fee (P43 na) and waited for the pool to open then proceeded to the changing/shower rooms...
'alang ya, nde na talaga gumagana ang mga showers! di-tabo ang ligo! you get water only from the drums.
Tapos pag talon ko sa pool, puro dumi at lumot sa floor...ang tindi talaga, parang hindi nililinis totally...
may alam akong super ok na swimming pool, sa century park hotel located sa may taft. may 25 meters 6 lanes heated pool, may diving, sauna, open air siya and you must see their shower room, the best talaga! pagkaalam ko dati e p15,000 membership nun, one year ata, isang payment lang. pero for me it's kinda worth it naman.
ganon ba? hassle naman.'alang ya, nde na talaga gumagana ang mga showers! di-tabo ang ligo! you get water only from the drums.
now that's really the pits! eew!

for DLSU almuni, you can use the pool sa may razon sports center, for free of course.
olympic size siya.
