Went to Tagaytay for the first time just this past weekend, pero daytrip lang.

We took a bus from Edsa/Taft - Erjohn and Almark bus - PhP 90, aircon bus bound for Nasugbu, via Cavite and Tagaytay.

Bus station is at the back of Mcdo/Chowking/Hotel Sogo on Edsa, just beside the MRT Taft Station. May van rin bound for Balayan, Batangas, via Tagaytay - they are at the basement parking of Metropoint Mall (opposite side). But when we were there, there was a long line of people, so we decided to try a bus.

We asked the bus to drop us off at RSM, and binaba kami sa Magallanes (?) Magkakatabi lang dun ang Starbucks/Dencio's/Leslie's/Carlo's Pizza/Antonio's Grill (?) etc.. Hiwalay ang RSM, it was a few meters down the road, we didn't see it nung bumaba kami.

So for lunch we went straight to Leslie's. We wanted to try their huuuuge bulalo, but it was PhP 500/each and unfortunately they weren't willing to accommodate our request for solo servings sana.

All in all, I wasn't too impressed with the food at Leslie's. Large servings though, and yung order namin was actually good for 3, maybe even 4 people. Good service though, lots of wait staff, and over-looking Taal. But food wasn't very memorable. Lunch for 2 came to just under PhP 1300 including 10% service charge.

From Leslie's, we hopped on a tricycle to the Bag of Beans - P70 - and I would say the Bag of Beans is one reason why I know I will be back to Tagaytay. I wasn't too excited about coming here, since I'm not a big fan of coffee and coffee shops, and kakatapos lang namin mag-lunch, hehe. But my gf insisted we go, and I'm glad we did.

Sayang lang, busog na talaga kami when we were here - the cheesecake is the best I have tasted (!). We weren't able to try Alamid Coffee, as they apparently don't serve them anymore, but they sell them at their store upstairs. (Pero ubos na nung andun kami)

Great ambiance, and I will definitely be back here first chance I get. Our bill came to PhP 500. 1 slice cheesecake + apple pie + drinks.

After Bag of Beans, we decided to go the the People's Park in the Sky. 'Di alam ng mga tao dun how to get to the Park from there, so they suggested we hop on a bus or jeep back to Leslie's.

So we took a jeep, back to Leslie's. Standard fare. Tapos nagtanong ulit kami. Sabi ng police, punta daw kami Olivarez terminal, tapos may jeep daw dun bound for People's Park. Nag-tanong rin kami sa tricycle, sabi P200 straight to People's Park na daw, we declined.

So we took a jeep bound for Olivarez Terminal, and pagkababa, na-ambush kami ng mga tricycle, lol. So nag-tryk nalang kami, P100 straight to the gate daw. On the way, may nadaanan kami, yung Picnic Grove yata yun? May naka-advertise na cable car?

P15 lang ang entrance sa People's Park. The place has definitely seen better days, but it supposedly boasts of the best views of Taal. Buti nalang we were there during sunset, golden hour if you have a camera with you.

From People's Park, we took a tryk back to Olivarez, P100 ulit, but again, I gave the driver P120, since malayo naman. Pasalubong from Collette's (sa tabi lang ng Petron (?) near the circle.

Then we took a bus bound for Cubao, via Cavite and daan. P80 yung bus, and we were back in Makati within 2 hours. (May mga van rin sa Olivarez terminal bound for Alabang, pero sabi nila 7PM lang daw ang last trip nila)

We were in Tagaytay for less than 9 hours lang, and excluding pasalubong, we spent around PhP 3K.

Here are some pix, first shot is of Leslie's, tapos apple pie at the Bag of Beans, and the rest are from the People's Park in the Sky.

    Wow! thanks for posting!

We also tried Bulalo near Mendez crossing. Yung hilera ng mga restaurant dun which serves Bulalo, grabe! Ang sarapp din! May special (composed of Baguio pechay at malaki ang servings) at meron ding regular(all meat pero maliit lang ang bowl na good for 1 or two).
sorry i forgot the name e.

I havent tried Bag of Beans. Never been there not even once. Saan ba yang may restaurant na Bag of Beans malapit?

i was at tagaytay last weekend with bf too. we stayed ai mijo's, and for 1,800, pwede na, yun nga lang, disappointing yun sinasabi nilang breakfast in bed na kasali sa binayaran kase egg lang siya and toasted bread.

we also went to bag of beans, ordered tapsilog, tocilog, shepherd's pie, cheesecake, iced tea and mineral water, around P900 yun bill, it's so worth it though kase masarap and big serving talaga.

we also bought mushroom burgers then went to pink sisters

It's across Shakey's and beside Mocha Blends or Sanctuario. You won't miss it because of the signboard. Standard na ata yung 300 for a whole body massage. Happy hunting!

Yay! Punta kami sa Monday sa Tagaytay. We usually take Sta. Rosa exit.

One day trip lang... Alis kami past 5 am dito sa Manila. Kain kami either sa Bag of Beans or Mushroom Burger para sa heavy snacks. Then punta Picnic Grove. Siguro 2 hours din doon. Then hanap ng makakainan na may over-looking... Pahinga sandali after kumain.

Ipapasyal namin kasi Mother in law ko with our two sons.

    -friday 11:00am rode a bus bound to mendez/olivares PhP 90(2) = Php 180
**dumating na *** ng tagaytay around past 12 na,eto din un point na im thinking if san kami mgsstay..if sa kenipo or sa mijo..actually bumaba na *** sa RSM,correct un mga pexers dito lapit nga lang sa mijo(thanks guys/gals!!for giving infos like this and also un mga landmark ndi na *** nahirapan i-locate un ibang establishments kasi nga mgkakatabi lang

-since were both hungry na.. we decided na later na lang mghanap ng place and we went ahead sa mahogany market(un pamasahe sa jeep Php 8.50(2)= Php 17)
    **Lunch: Jayvees Bulalohan good for 2-3 persons na to Php 280 + 2 rice 30+ adobo 70 + etc., etc.,= Php 400+
ayos *** bulalo nila kasi daming laman/litid/taba ;p equal proportions pa lahat ;p

-so after that heavy lunch we decided to go back sa RSM area(sorry im not familiar kung ano name ng hi-way eh)
since mejo malayo un mijo sa binabaan namin ng jeep ng stay kami sa COOL BREEZE RESORT Php 1750.00 overnight with 'continental'breakfast for 2,dito na kami nagstay kasi kahit na gabi, meron pa din mga ilaw sa bawat streets, unlike dun sa mijo,un mijo lang talaga ang meron ilaw so kakatakot lumabas pag walang kasama
**btw,sa CBR-meron na complimentary toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo and 1 roll of tissue
and lahat naman eh 'locally branded' so its okey gamitin

-after a quick nap,and thinking where to go next..weve decided na magpunta sa CALARUEGA(tama ba spelling??)so its already 2:00pm na,rode a jeep papuntang NASUGBU Php 25(2)= Php 50
pagdating sa nasugbu, meron ng mga tryk dun papunta sa church tryk fee Php 50 for 2(1 way),pagdating namin dun mejo busy un mga peeps to prep up un church for a wedding.
    entrance fee Php 30(2) =Php 60
    **must check:koi fishes,hanging bridge and church(of course!)

    -next stop:BAG of BEANS
from nasugbu to bag of beans Php 19.00(2)=Php 38
    tried un blueberry cheesecake,choc'late mousse,2 ice mocha =Php 430+

back to the hotel..since its getting dark and mukhang uulan pa..

after ng dinner,we tried lookin for some clubs or bar to chillout, but to no avail meron kami nakita sa bandang petron G-POINT BAR,its an international bar so mind you..the booze prices is reallly sky rocketing if ur going to compare ur local booze hir in manila
we just stayed there for an hour..after that we went back to the hotel..

    the next day..
breakfast meal courtesy ng CBR-okey un serving ng food, madami ;p
check out time na nmin..spent lunch at MUSHROOMBURGER(along taal vista lodge/hotel) standard fare lang po sa jeep ;p
**LUNCH: Php 200 ,my gf doesnt like un taste ng iced-T,weird daw un lasa,i dunno about her but when i first tasted it..yeah weird un lasa but afterwards nasanay din me

-from mushroom burger sakay *** jeep papuntang olivarez php 10(2) = Php 20
then baba kami terminal, wait ng shuttle papuntang picnic grove..pagdating sa olivarez market,i got confused with the direction so bumababa kami dun, ayun pala malayo pa *** so no choice ngtryk kami papuntang picnic grove Php 35

    -entrance fee:Php 50/head(2) =Php 100

-stroll along the trail way..meron ng cable car and ziplining adventure pero nde na namin sinubukan..for Php 200/one way zipling and cable car fee
pag gusto mo 2-way Php300,libre naman pag bata
masyado foggy un area ng taal lake nung pumunta ***..

-back to olivarez, ndi na *** ngtryk since Php 60 un fare, meron daw jeepney strike, buti nalang meron van papunta olivarez Php 15/head so nakatipid din kami ng 30 pesos

-sakay ng bus bound to cubao Php 107(2) =Php 214

-all in all..it was a great experience going there ;p thanks sa lahat ng pexers! cant wait to go back!

-next time we will try na talaga un carlos pizza and leslies ;p

  13. #953
