    allo!!

couple of comments lang po.. most of these aren't from personal
    experiences though

ow, i'd very much appreciate if any one here can provide contact numbers and/or DIRECTIONS .. hehehe.. mahirap ata maghanap lalo na pag may date

sonia's garden - i've been here only once, 2.5 years ago with some college friends.. it's probably not as bad as flirt_popcorn
described it... perhaps it's just that antonio's farm is much better
.. hehehe... .. it's sad to hear lang na the place haven't changed it's menu.. it's like there won't be much reason to actually go back to the place.. pero, i have to admit, my first visit there was kinda memorable... i like the setting of the place especially for people who loves the outdoors

antonio's farm - ya! i've been wanting to go hear... hmmm, sino kaya pwede mayaya.. hehehe..
got a friend who went out with a couple of friends some months back; ye, sonia's garden nga daw totally pales compared to this place. got this other number pala: 02 8992866. buti flirt_popcorn gave some rather visual descriptions about what to expect there ow, much like sonia's garden, by reservation lang daw; mga 1 month ahead daw ata kailangan.. ganun ba talaga karami taong gusto makapunta dun??

leslie's - i've heared this is also a nice place daw... pero yun lang.. nothing as compelling as that of flirt_popcorn.. hehe.. meron ba nakakaalam exactly what's nice about this place

Residence Inn/Zoo - hehehe.. yun na. it's a zoo lang daw. hehehe

palace in the sky - i can't believe people would even recommend this place. unless something drastic was actually done to rehabilitate the place, it's totally misleading to refer to it as a palace.....

*** ey peeps, DIRECTIONS and more feedback about these places ha!! thanks!

It's the view that compels people to go up there. The place sucks, but nothing beats the view up there.

im planning of going to tagaytay this weekend..

so antonios farm is out of the question? do i really need one month to reserv a table.. well ust be worth it! the place sounds amazing!

palace in the sky is an irony. medyo sira2 na nga yung place pero i must say maganda yung view. sana lang the city govt does something about it. its a good tourist spot sana e.

ive never been to picnic grove.. is it nice there?

im looking for a place to hang out lang.. and what else to do when in tagaytay aside from appreciating the view and having a picnic and eating!?

btw, can you recommend other places kung san pwede kumain? not fine dining, yung cozy atmosphere pero sarap fud

    thanks!

affordable... looks more like a motel if ull ask me...

from the rotonda, go **** the road where days inn is located.
probably around 15 mins from that point...

just go **** and u'll see it at the left side of the road.....

    hope this helps...

been to sonya's garden this weekend (celebrated valentine's day with the hubby). food is kinda overrated. but their dalandan juice and salad dressing were good. iyong turon na dessert nila, medyo matigas na.siguro, masarap talaga iyon pag mainit.

the place is romantic alright. it's really a place for people who loves nature and outdoors.

may bago sila, sonya's bed and breakfast.nice place to stay overnight. we were able to go around the "cottages" and it's really romantic. medyo mahal nga lang.2k8 per person during weekends and holidays, 2k5 naman per person pag weekdays.

but then, if you love the person whom you will be spending the night with, the rates shouldn't matter. hehe.

super mahal naman mag-overnight sa kanila (sonya's garden!)

btw, was also there last weekend to celebrate heart's day with my wuv!!

Re: Antonio's Gourmet Farm rocks! (Goodbye to Sonya's Garden!)

onya's Garden is such a letdown! It's not a compelling reason to drive to Tagaytay. Yeah sure organic is the cool thing now but I have a better suggestion. The hot gastronomic destination now in Tagaytay is Antonio's Gourmet farm. This is the solution to those carnivores who were let down by Sonya's food offering. (Her menu doesn't change by the way. She still serves that confused mango and chicken cream pasta sauce). Antonio's serves grilled meats (like rib-eye steak so divine and soft that you effortlessly take in your mouth), short ribs and wonderful spring lamb. They also have feature seafood dish. The salad is fabulous and unlike Sonya's where it's just all organic greens, Antonio's serves their salad with a delightful and refreshing fruit-based dressing and a dried cheese tart and a piping of herbed cheese on the side. The decadent ones can order caramelized/pan-seared foie gras with the greens.

This place is so sought-after that bookings are so difficult like my July sunday dinner was booked last May pa! The price is a tad more than Sonya's but it's well worth it considering you have bottomless dalandan juice and really moist and hearty foccacia (with basil butter) to go with it. The soup is FABULOUS. As my friend said, it was like sipping butter. It wasn't thick like commercial, add-hot-water-soups. It was more like a liquid essence of the choice vegetable. It's THAT awesome!!!!!
They offer set meals like Sonya's which starts with the salad I was talking about and finishes off with a chocolate/coffee soufflé with grand marnier sauce and tarragon tea. The great part about their set meal is that it builds to a crescendo unlike Sonya's where there's nothing to look forward to after the salad. The pasta sauces are ordinary and the dessert (some caramelized camote) is glamorized carinderia fare.

There are kiddie meals and vegetarian dishes too. Suddenly Sonya's pales in comparison (and it's way too far compared to Antonio's). For the truly indulgent ones, they have a house specialty called Sparfunckel which is boneless suckling pig stuffed with herbs and served with apple sauce and sauerkraut. It's an authentic German recipe.

Here are the contact numbers of Antonio's for reservations. 0920-9004527/0917-8992866/0917-8191022.

You MUST try it. Guys-- this is a great "Will-You-Marry-Me" venue. Really romantic, intimate and peaceful setting plus you'll be so pleasantly stuffed with good food!

I'm NEVER going back to Sonya's again. Sonya's is predictable, boring, unimaginative and OVER-rated. I don't see what the hype is about except for the fabulous flower gardens. Not to mention that it closes so early pa.

pede pu malaman pano magpunta sa Antonio's Gourmet farm from makati.... tsaka magkano nagre-range *** food nila.... thanks!
