    Question Butter Scotch Recipe?

    Hi there!

Anybody knows a real good butter scotch recipe?

I have been craving for these miniature square goodies wrapped in colorful cellophane eversince my roommate gave me a pack as pasalubong from Iloilo. My craving is only satisfied whenever someone I know who's from Iloilo (not too many of them) or who is visiting Iloilo comes to Manila and gives me a pack or two of them.

Any help will surely be appreciated. Thanks!

    Butterscotch Recipe 2

    Butterscotch Squares

This recipe makes a big batch of about 40 butterscotch squares in a jelly roll pan.

    2/3 cup shortening
2 1/4 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
    3 large eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted or stirred before measuring
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 ounce package)

    PREPARATION:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together into another bowl; stir into creamed mixture until blended. Fold in chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
Spread in greased and floured 15x10x3/4-inch jelly roll pan. Bake butterscotch squares at 350 for about 25 to 30 minutes.
Cut into squares while still warm.

This brand is still new for me and I must say they were inspired by two of the best selling products of of the more famous Biscocho Haus since Rgies signature products, I presume, are butterscotch and yema.

Another one of those better packaged pasalubong, they have this very inviting caramel colored pack that reveals individually sealed bars.

Their butterscotch smells good and really looks very inviting plus the fact that it has this "crisp" due to being packed airtight. The flavour of, what else, butter is very "overwhelming" and tends to make it oily throughout but still taste good.

A tried and "tasted" pasalubong treat from the city's best selling pasalubong store, Biscocho Haus. Although its just the bakery's own version of this universal chewy dessert yet it has become its bestseller aside from the product which the store got it's name, biscocho.

    http://bp1.blogger.com/_vEq-wkYLAPU/R7sOoqxaqBI/AAAAAAAAAGg/9mVrKRt5Ufw/s400/butterscotch3.jpg

Available in special, mango and pineapple varieties, it ranks as my most recommended pasalubong treat from Iloilo.
