MAN, that Kentucky-Fried-Rat thing is the grossest thing I have ever heard! Had a bad experience with fastfood chicken once. There was a nail (a metal nail, not the one you grow on your fingers) in my chicken at Kenny Roger's! Thank God I didn't swallow it. I almost threw up my lunch when I took that rusty nail out of my mouth. YECH!!!

have you heard about the knife-holder in the back of someone's car (nangyari daw kay Korina Sanchez)?

ascot and ira , more on the film center stories. reports say that security guards who used to work there used to see a lot of things. bleeding walls, more than 20 pairs of hands protruding from the floor asking ot be pulled out and moans and screams of help. they say that guards there dont last a week. they all ask to be re assigned.

another famous urban legend in the '80s. the crazed killer of new manila. there were stories going around that time about a couple out on a date. the couple where somewhere in the creepy area when they ran out of gas. the boyfriend had to go get gas and left the girlfriend inside the car. half an hour later the girlfriend noticed that there was this man watching her from a dark portion of the road. she then locked all the car doors when she saw the man walking towards her. things got creepier when the the girlfriend realized that the strange man was trying to force the doors open, the girl honked on the horns to get attention and maybe scare the guy away. the man finally gave up and run away. after a few minutes the man was back and started circling the car. the girl was about to honk the horns when the man lifted something with his hand and walked towards the car. to the girls horror she realized that it was her boyfriends decapitated head. she sreamed in fear but nothing prepared her for what came next, the stranger lifted his other hand and the girl saw that he had in his possession....... the car keys of the boyfriend. the next day authority found the girl inside the car crying and laughing, saying things that didnt make any sense, she was driven insane by something , they didnt know.

up to this day, that stranger has never been found.

road kill, hmm, that sounds like the headless boyfriend story that I just related. Maybe they're related like they're different versions of the same story.

At the height of Martial Law and the Mindanao insurgency, madalas daw mag-brownout sa gabi. I heard from somebody that it was during these brownouts that bodies of soldiers who fought in Mindanao were transported in and around Metro Manila. Marcos daw didn't want the press to know about it. Urban legend or history?

  6. #46
I don't know about the soldiers in Mindanao during the Marcos era. There is a similar story in Uganda during the reign of Idi Amin. There were frequent brownouts in many parts of the country and the people there shuddered everytime that happened. The bodies of those murdered by the administration were clogging the river and dam.

There are some rumors that have been plying around and have been the talk of the town. In the event you here such kinds, we call it Urban Legend, or "tsismis" that is not really true, but believed to be one because the stories have been passed from person to person. Example:

    1) The Ghost from 3 men and a baby:
NOT TRUE ! It was just a cardboard of the lead actor that is misplaced by one of the crew. This cardboard was seen in one of the scenes wherein the lead actor was carrying it, And, it was not shot in a house but rather in a studio in Hollywood. Definitely, for MEDIA MILEAGE ONLY !!!!

    2) SPICE GIRLS are GAYS !
NOT TRUE! It was discounted when one of the Spice Girls bore a child. Also, this rumor was spearheaded by a sociology class in UP to see how Gossip makes people believe. Truly, A RUMOR ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES !

If you Know anything more, feel free to speak up. Thanks !!!!

Someone forwarded me this message, can anyone prove or disprove this:

FYI Please be warned of this modus operandi. Take care of
yourselves when going out on your gimmicks.

My friends, let me share with you my officemate's
unforgettable experience."Carlo" (he'll kill me if I reveal his real
name) is a movie lover. Watching movies is his way of rewarding himself
after a long and tiring day. He goes to the movies at least once a
    month.
Since he lives in Project 7, QC, so he goes to SM City as a
practical choice. He was so surprised to encounter such a very
unpleasant experience while watching a movie two months ago.
Carlo waited for weeks for the showing of the latest James Bond movie.
Since all of his friends were occupied that day, he decided to see
the movie alone. Before he bought his ticket, he went to Burger King
to get himself a burger and a coke.Like what he always do, he didn't
put ice on his soda. He entered the movie house at 5:30 pm. While
nibbling on his burger, he placed the cup of coke in the armrest.
After taking a few sips, he suspected something very wrong with his coke.
There is now ice on it. Akala nya nainom nya yung coke ng katabi nya
but there was nobody seated beside him. He lifted the cup to get a closer
    look. Surprise, Surprise!!!!
He found powdery substance floating on the soda. He also realized that
the cup is now "Jollibee" and not Burger King. He immediately run for
the restroom for he knew that he was "na ATIVAN". He spit all fluid that
he has taken in. In no more than 2 minutes, he felt so dizzy. He hurriedly
left the mall. He didn't know how he did it but he was able to find his way
    home.
By the time he reached the doorstep of his house, he was already asleep.
When he woke up, it was already 8pm of the following day. I should have
told you this story two months ago pero tinamad akong magsulat. Now I feel
that I have to because it already happened to 3 people I know. The other
guys were not as lucky as Carlo.

This isn't a local legend, tho its quite funny if your seeking for one

Legend has it that President Calvin Coolidge once entertained some friends from the country in the White House. His friends were concerned that they display proper table manners to win the President's respect, so they observed Coolidge very
carefully and followed his example in detail.

The meal passed smoothly, then coffee was served. Coolidge poured his into his saucer and his guests did likewise. Then Coolidge added sugar and cream, and the visitors did the same. Coolidge then leaned over and gave his coffee to the cat.

The Medical Student Who Becomes Deranged.

A group of medical students decided to play a harmless prank on their easily-frightened classmate. They planned a special study session to be held in the cadaver room with their intended victim. When the girl arrived for the session and found no one in the cadaver room, she thought she was too early and decided to read her notes. The rest of her group mates were actually hiding and they switched the lights off. The girl screamed and screamed to no avail and then she stopped. After a while the pranksters began to wonder what happened. Upon turning the lights on, they were shocked to see their hapless classmate gnawing on a piece of the cadaver.

Remember nung nauso yung 'Satanista' crap?

Isa pa is yun ngang satanista - I used to live near UP diliman in QC, and one time bata pa ko nun, two of my friends decided to take a small walk around buildings of UP diliman, so sumama ako. Around 2Am na yun Then may nakita kaming isang room na parang may hine-hazing, pero I'm pretty sure that is NOT hazing kasi may 'nakabitin' sa krus na itim and maraming dugo yung kamay ng lalake.

One more is this group of aswang thingy naman, some guy in a famous news magazine said that these peeps were travelling from an island to go to manila when some coast guard burned their ferry. It turned out that all people aboard that ferry were all 'aswangs' and now they're seeking some kinda revenge kind' of stuffs.

Mayron pa sa Montalban naman. Yung dam raw dun dapat raw every year may mag-dodonate ng buhay. Taon-taon may napapabalitang may namamatay eh.

They reportedly spill the blood to mix with the cement to apparently make the bridge 'stronger'.

One of the reasons why my uncle used to say "Wag kang dadaan sa C-5, bagong gawa pa yan..." Now I know.....

When I was little, I used to be frigthened by the same urban legend you described regarding kidnapping of children during the construction of new bridges. My friends and I were really very afraid, so afraid in fact that we do not dare venture out beyond 20 metres from our houses. It usually happen pa man din during our summer vacation, so we were not able to exploit our vacation to the fullest.
In our version... the child is decapitated and his head is place with in the foundation of the bridge, it is suppose to strengthen it. The blood is also said to be mixed with the cement.
Of course this is just a legend, and i don't know of anyone who was kidnapped and beheaded. I don't even know anyone who know
    anyone kidnapped or beheaded.
This legend like many legends is entirely based on hear say. I even think that this legend is intentionally perpetuated by parents who in a desperate attempt to keep their children from wandering off during vacation, created a perfect little legend to scare and let free a very imaginative mind of a little child to keep his little body locked with in the house.
But then there must be some truth to this, as in most legends, it is always based on alittle truth. This may have originated as far back as prehispanic period when our ancestors performed "paganistic" ceremonies. It was common in the Mayan civilization to offer the heads to the gods. It is possible that the same practice was popular here.

'Yung bang mga pentagrams and ano-ano pa. Nationawide 'yung scare actually. Wala namang Satanista yatang kumakalat. Nagdie down din 'yung scare.

I don't know if these would be considered UL's but i remember hearing stories about the Santo Nino statue lifting a third finger which symbolizes the coming of WWIII. I've also heard about the apparitions of St. Peter and his rooster holding a key in the skies over Cavite (or something like that).. or the curse of Mt. Makiling.

About the dead-man-in-the-Coke story.. I remember buying a Mountain Dew way back when I was a kid, and finding a spider egg and a bunch of tiny spiders swimming inside the sealed soda bottle.. no kidding.
