Question k7vta3 kt333.. grounded?

specs..

xp1700+
k7vta3 kt333
256 DDRAMs
GF4 MX440
A4 Tech 4d Optical Mouse
D-Link Modem
Maxtor 40G 7200rpm
Sony 52X
Lite-On 32x12x40x
SAXON case w/ 300W PSU

problem..
turning the AVR "on" (CPU still "off") would make the lights of the optical mouse turn on & produce a constant minimum sound on the speaker (mahinang mahina lang naman). what could be the problem?

scenarios..
-my previous set-up was ok.. same spec but with xp1500+ & k7s5a. no lights on optical mouse & no sound on speaker after turning the AVR on.

-i already removed the mobo from the case and tested it only with the proc, ddrams, vidcard, keyboard & mouse (placed on top of the mobo's box) used the saxon's PSU and still same problem.

-checked the PC Health on the k7vta3's bios and the 12v reports out 13.1v.

need your help on this guys..
-if ever the mobo is the problem, at least i can bring it asap and ask for the replacement since it was bought only last oct 5, 2002

-if ever the PSU is the problem, i'll have it checked asap before it ruins eveything..

-is it possible that the AVR is the culprit?

thanks a lot!

papalitan mo na lang yung mobo mo. most shops allow this within a week or two of purchase. consumers shouldn't be forced to eat lemons.

I forgot where I have read this, but try checking if the PCs power cable and the speaker wires have crossed each other or near each other. As far as my memory can serve me, the AC in the PCs power cable can cause signal interference to the speaker wires. Thus causing the sound. Don't know if this is true. Try mo lang, malay mo gumana. Anyway, what's your speakers. I have a friend who's BOKA speakers is producing some humming sound also after he switched his AVR on. But he has different mobo.

This is on an unrelated note, but my PC is grounded when the AVR is *off* already tried the power supply at three different places (home, school, villman katips) and it really gives an irritating shock when the AVR is off

Anyway, is there a way to test if something is grounded without touching it?!? the shocks get to you after a while.

I got the same irritating shocks, even if the AVR is OFF!!!! Dunno whats the reason, perhaps a defect in AVR. Of course, when my PC is on, casing is grounded....

rodex, hindi po yan near death nung binili mo. we have tested it several times before you bought it. not my fault. all the items i have sold have no problems. see all my feedbacks/comments from other sites.

the speaker was the culprit for my probelm.

I had experienced that also. But I theorized that there were still stored electrical currents in the PSU. Just my opinion though.

kung babalik ko sayo 1000, lumalabas na nabili mo yung slightly used na i-cute 1286 300W case at 2.1G seagate hardisk ng 1500.
do you think it is fair?

put yourself in my shoes, sa tingin mo fair na balik ang 1000 pesos for the "sirang monitor" (accorcing to you) someone bought it kasama ng bundle items na I-cute 1286, 2.1G Seagate Hdisk all for 2,500.

fair ba yun? balik mo kaya yung 1000?
