i believe its a cry for help. they hurt so much inside that they just want to end it. ayaw nilang mamatay pero gusto nilang matapos na yung sakit.

I agree.

Yes, I do believe that it also is a cry for help, a yearning for attention. And usually, the symptoms can be seen long before then, if you only look.

    Crying for help.

But if that person attempted suicide for the nth time ... then he/she's CRYING FOR SOME SERIOUS HELP.

actually it is a cry for help. i have tried to do it several times and quite got to the point na naglaslas na talga pero the thing is, nobody still listens. they all think na baliw na ako. gusto ko lang naman makinig sila at tangapin nila na may problema kaso wala e. alam kong mali pero kung minsan, mas gusto ko na yung physical pain kesa sa sakit sa loob.

i have a couple of friends who slash their wrists regularly, and then display the band-aid rather prominently the next day. i can understand feeling the need for release, but there has to be a better way. i think inflicting pain to the self stems from low self-esteem. it may be a cry for help, but they gotta help themselves first.

some naman just want attention. they do drastic measures like attempting to commit suicide para lang mapansin. it is very serious kaya dapat give them attention and talk to them pero talk to them heart-to-heart and regularly kasi pag feeling nila hindi na naman sila napapansin, attempt ulit yan...

ang mga taong may suicidal tendencies ay dapat tinutulungan ...

i have friends having the same tendency ...
buti na lang at napigilan ko sila ...

dapat kasi, kausapin lang sila at kulitin kung ano ba talaga ang problem nila ... and advise them not to do such a thing kasi wala namang patutunguhan ang gagawin niya ...

well, that was from a personal experience!

yeah! prayer is a good way of helping them.

nakakaasar lang talaga yung ibang tao na would consider na baliw ka because of that. i mean, they don't know anything baout the situation e di tumahimik na lang sila. di kasi nila maintindihan e.

Suicidal People: Crying for help or Should be dumped in the Mental?
Medyo naguluhan ako sa thread title. Anyway, these people are unquestionably crying for help. If their case requires commiting them into a reliable halfway house for treatment, then it should be done so. It's just one way of showing that we care. Otherwise, we'd just let them roam the streets until they turn into "taong grasa". It's unfortunate, though, that the national mental institute has insufficient funds to provide for the complete medical requirements of their patients. hindi naman komo't ipinasok sa mental hospital ay hopeless na. (although we can't deny na may mga kaanak na inaabandon na lang ang pasyente rito.) ginagamot naman sila doon, kaso nga lang napapatagal ang paggaling ng mga pasyente sa kakulangan ng pondong pantustos. of course there are private clinics/hospitals for those who could afford.

    Sweetkay:
Psychologists and psychiatrists do find out if people are "psycho", that's their job.
Perhaps you are bipolar, if your mood swings from up to down for apparently no reason.

    I'm bipolar, in fact.

Bipolar people also have high suicide rates, so ingat ka... I suggest you see a mental health professional.

    Talking Suicidal People

Suicidal ba kamo?

    Very tragic indeed.

Crying 4 help... btw, it's a serious mistake na ppl who really want to do it don't talk about it... in fact those who successfully perform the act are known to have given verbal hints on what they're about to do... Sadly, these "hints" are ignored...
