    Talking what is a filipino?

Filipinos are basically a bunch of confused people with their cultures. In all our traits, lifestyle, culture, everything is derived from those who colonized us. The chinese, japanese, american, and more of the filipino traits came from the spaniards---even some tagalog words came from spaniards like silya or otherwise if it was in tagalog we would be calling it "salong puwit".
Anyway, the only thing that differentiates us from foreigners, is that we are hard working. And most of all, we can live and survive in an uncivilized way. Name it the tabo, timba, fishballs, chicken feet, etc. It just so happens that Filipinos are good in utilizing the available resources and if there are not any, we are creative enough to produce it. Even if it's left out by the fast paced technology of other countries. Plus our exotic accent is an added factor, isn't it?!

    Thumbs up

Being a Filipino is more than just knowing how to speak the language...it's more than knowing the National Anthem by heart...

For me, being a Filipino is about confidence in the country's ability to compete with the rest of the world, may it be in sports, music, or technology. It's about learning to love and appreciate the good things that we have.

I have learned to do away with the colonial mentality that rubbed off on me due to the schools I attended and the fact that I came from an upper-middle/middle class background that could afford to buy our fair share of imported goods/imbibe our fair share of imported culture. An evidence of this is my desire to live and die in the Philippines, and not spend my entire life abroad even if it means making more money. That would like be sending a fish out of water.

I believe in the capability, ingenuity, and ability of the Filipino. Sadly, most of us have learned to stop believing.

even some tagalog words came from spaniards like silya or otherwise if it was in tagalog we would be calling it "salong puwit".
Let's not forget English...words like "brief"...otherwise we would be calling it "salongganisa" in Tagalog.

Grade school pa lang ako nung nauso yung joke na yan...just decided to include it for kicks...
