Things I hate about Madonna:

-- Inaway na niya si Michelle Pfeiffer, who happens to be my favorite person in the whole world.
Interestingly, the career paths of these two have crossed twice: Madonna lobbied to be in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" (1989). The role she wanted--that of Susie Diamond, a lounge singer/ ex-hooker--instead went to Michelle, who received an Academy Award nomination for the role. Madonna, however, largely criticized the film after it came out. Sour grapes? Ewan.
The second time was when Michelle Pfeiffer, the original choice to play Evita Peron, dropped out of the film because she was newly married, pregnant and wary of the change in location shoot. Madonna, who went as far as sending a letter of appeal to the producers, now had the role to herself. Madonna, of course, was good in that movie, but I am left wondering how the movie would have fared with Michelle Pfeiffer in the lead.

--Nakakainis nung nag-Shanti, shanti, shanti na sha (ang galeng, alliteration). Among all other changes of image she's pulled, this one seemed to be the most orchestrated. I mean, it's hardly Madonna's style to be at peace with herself, stop using all those weights, eklat, eklat. Siguro naubusan na sha ng media reincarnation.

Pero, bottomline, mahal ko si Madonna dahil:

--She's the definitive gay icon of the 80's up to the early 90's

--Lupet naman the fashion sense niya

--Despite the fact that so much hype has surrounded her music career, her songs are actually good (this, she pointed out on the sleeve of "Something To Remember"). My favorites are "This Used to Be My Playground," "Oh Father," "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" and everything from "Erotica." Nga pala, at shempre, "Vogue."

Heard she was pandered in her performance in "Grabs," a West End play. Frigid raw sha. Sayang naman. And to think that Gwyneth Paltrow (ewww), who's her close friend (double ewww), won raves for her role in Proof (the same role that Lea Salonga blew).

Chismis: di ba yung asaw ni Sting--si Trudie, hindi ako --yung somesorta bridge nila Madonna at Guy Ritchie, and that Madonna was accused of making sulot her husband from his girlfriend of how many years?
