I had this for years. Nakakapagpa treat ako sa derma pero waalng follow up kasi nahihiya ako sa down time as in di ko na talaga kaya yung kahihiyan.
Help please!

^ One shouldn't use Pro-Active unless otherwise advised by a Dermatologist most esp if you do not have a background of your skin type/problem. It could worsen (burn) your skin trouble.
There is this procedure called Dermabrasion which involves scratching the top layers of the skin to smoothen and eliminate scars, moles, blemishes etc. And most dermatological procedures side-effect (even for non-invasive procedures) is redness of the skin involve.
The best you can do is consult a Dermatologist for professional advice. It pays to see a specialist.
Consult a dermatologist to know what skin type you have and what treatments will work best for you.
did anyone use proactiv? effective po ba yun?
sinong dermatologist dito?
how much kaya ang consultation?
tapos how much kung magpapalinis ng face / white head extraction?
normally ba magkano yan?
salamat!

Hi! I'd like to share my experience on Acne.
I generally have a good skin during college (of course one/few breakouts once in a while) until last quarter of the year before graduation, I had a progressive acne flareups, tho most of it were comedonal but what concerns me most are the pustules - they generally consider this as Mild to Moderate type of Acne.
Maybe some will agree if I say that the discoloration/hyperpigmentation accounts to most concerns about Acne. Pimple without marks would just be fine with me if that's the case. (I just wish)
I started asking my friends with the best dermatologists in town. I was pointed to a commercialized Clinic - DERM Clinic. I took an effort to convince my mom and bring me there for consultation. YES - don't hesitate to ask your parents, they are always the best partner during treatments. They will say whether your skin is improving or not, in a way you can validate the effectiveness of the treatments.
So we went to the Clinic and met Dra. Francisco (if my memory still serves me right). She immediately assessed my skin and suggested Acne Peel. A combination of facial massage, an exfoliating mask, application of peeling sol'n and cleaning procedure - 2500. She then prescribed topical meds: Clindamycin lotion and Nu Derm Glycolic Acid cream plus oral Vitamin A. I went home handing them my 7k+.
The first week after my very first cleaning was rough. As I am not oriented to how my skin will react, how long before it heals and expected a minimal to no breakouts.
Apparently, I did not get the desired results, in fact, I got more breakouts.
My clinical instructor while in a duty - yes, I'm a nurse - referred me to a Derma near Morayta. My CI specifically recommends her because she's been in the practice for quite long time and receiving positive feedbacks from her clients.
A day after my birthday, we went to the said clinic at Mary Chiles Hospital Medical Arts Bldg. They immediately accommodated us and took my personal profile. Dra. Angelina Aquende, in her late 50's, started assessing my skin and recommended another cleaning since it's 3 weeks from my first and last treatment at Dermclinic.
I was given a med regimen like: Kojic Soap, Acnevan 2 (a combination of whitening agent, Vit. A & C, and Alum), Oil Minus, Erythromycin Lotion and a cream which is supposed to help with the marks. And she also told me to stop the meds I acquired from DermClinic. Here's what surprised me most: the consultation + cleaning + meds = 800+ pesos only. Because they'll no longer charge you for the the consultation if you'll undergo any treatment.
In 3 weeks, my skin had a significant improvement. One to no breakouts but I still had cleanings every 2/3 weeks. 1 1/2 months later, my face was cleared, "back to normal", my friends even said that it's more clearer than before.
Thanks for reading if anyone did. peace!
