There are so many foreign brands outside of the Philippines which could be a hit when brought to the Philippines. Outlets such as Starbucks, Burger King, and Warner Brothers have made big waves since being introduced the past couple of years. Any guesses as to what will be the next Burger King? -- Or California Pizza Kitchen for that matter?

I really loved Tim Horton's when I was in Canada. It's sort of like a high end donut and coffee shop. The donut market here in the country is dominated by just two brands. A new entrant could make huge waves into the market.

Since we are a nation of chicken eaters, I would guess Boston Market though frankly, I find Max's as good as any. Two other concepts, although on a much larger scale, would be an office superstore like Staples or Office Max or a huge bookstore like Barnes and Noble or Borders. Seems to me that National has a virtual monopoly on books and office supplies and there may be room in this market.

McDonald's USA doesn't have spaghetti in their menu. I was told that the spaghetti in the local chain was a product of inculturation.

Have they ever tried barbecued isaw?

    let's hear it for TIM HORTON'S !!!!!

I would probably bring in Roy Rogers. I love their bread there, which is more like a biscuit now that I think about it. Their chicken there is also really good, and their menu is more diverse than KFC so they can attract a wide array of customer tastes.

HMV is like the European version of Tower Records. What I enjoy about HMV is that they belt out so much music while you're there, you just feel like swaying to the beat. Also, one of the HMVs in Hong Kong has this giant screen where they show all sorts of Music Videos and performances, coupled with a very good sound system, it's a real treat to all the music shoppers.

For years, I've been trying to figure out why The Gap has not yet reached the Philippine market. Is it because Asia's got Giordano already? The Gap is certainly much better and could give Giordano a run for its money.

barnes and noble will be opening an office here end of this year or early next year. seems like they have realized the potential market of books and reading materials here in the philippines. heard their office would be pretty BIG, as in they are planning to hire as many as 600 encoders.

How about Taco Bell? mmm, sarap =)

    Batang Uliran,
I think Boston Market is like Kenny Rogers... they have the same menu. And yep, I think Staples would be a great hit and so would Barnes and Nobles.

    nix,
    may Roy Rogers pa ba?

    Spectator,
Siguro dahil dito ginagawa yung GAP kaya walang binebenta dito... hehehe

How about Old Navy? Bakit wala nun dito? Or yung sa GH Bass, bakit puro shoes lang?

batang uliran: Don't you find Boston Market a little bland for Pinoy tastes? They might tweak their formula a little just like what Kenny Rogers did (I miss the citrusy taste of their chix).

Although it isn't a franchise, how about Disneyland or Six Flags?

    Jacob,

Or Busch Gardens or Typhoon Lagoon (parang Splash Island)? =)

i'd really like to see rainforest cafe here. the rainforest cafe in chicago, is so cool. at certain times of the day there's a light and sound show that simulates a tropical storm. the cafe also has a gift shop and fountain with a animatronic crocodile.

i'd also like to see the International House of Pancakes (IHOP)open a branch here
