Is the weather often relaxing in ADMU?
Hi! Sorry for the seemingly double-meaning question, but its just I noticed that whenever I see pictures of the campus with students, be it candid or professional, it never really shows students are feeling the heat.
I'm asking this because I know for a fact that not all classrooms in ADMU are airconditioned. So is it still true that the main campus has this relaxing temperature that most students, if not all, not sweat at all? o_O Is it because of the location of the said campus? or is it because of the fact that few students study there compared to other universities and colleges? Can the fact that ADMU's wide space and few buildings contribute to the relaxing temperature? (NOTE: relaxing, not cool) I'm from UST and you can easily say that its pretty hot here mianly because of its location and probably because of the small space it has in proportion to the number of buildings. Thanks for answering ![]() |

Well it is "relaxing" (because of the acads you may also say that the atmosphere at the ateneo is not relaxing
) because of the following reasons:1.) Low student population -Minsan maririnig mo pa mga huni ng ibon habang naglalakad kasi tahimik at walang tao. 2.) TREES. LOTS OF TREES. -The trees definitely make the atmosphere more cool and relaxing. |

i think it's better to use "ambience" or "atmosphere" instead of "weather." i mean, is it rainy inside admu? peace
![]() some areas are relaxing, some are not. football field benches = relaxing. caf = not relaxing. (this is relative, of course) and then some classrooms are kinda overcrowded and overhot. :P |

Certain areas are more "relaxing", temperature-wise. So far I only feel discomfort in CTC rooms (except the air-conditioned ones of course) and the main cafeteria. The trees really help, at least for shade in the midst of a hot, sunny noon.
I just want to share. I tried going to UST about 10:30 AM, and I sweat a lot there. Maybe it's the lack of trees or the overcrowding. 30-40 minutes later (via LRT), I went back to Ateneo. It was much cooler, though I sweat just a bit (by virtue of the noontime sun). And one more factor, the fact that we literally stand on a hill contributes a lot to cooler temperatures. Try visiting Ateneo one January morning. It was as if the whole campus is air-conditioned. |

i'd have to say yes. it's cooler because of the trees and the many plants and flower pots that are well landscaped.
and i guess it is a plus factor that we are "up on the hill". it's generally colder especially once the ber months set in. ![]() and mababango din kasi mga tao dito eh. ![]() |

The trees really help a lot. The classrooms in the second floor of SEC A are really cool, that I hope they never put aircons there.
The small student population vis-a-vis the large campus helps also. Pag nasa school ka ng sobrang aga, feel mo ikaw lang ang tao sa buong Ateneo. |

I live inside the campus, and I can definitely say that is a pleasure to stay within the walls of the Ateneo. I mean there isn't a day where I can't feel the breeze, especially in the dorms which nears the top that eponymous hill. The trees play a large part, and the design and placement of the buildings play a part as well. You see, the original buildings (Berchmans, Bellarmine, Kostka, Xavier, Gonzaga) have very similar designs and are all aligned along a similar axis: east-west. The windows of the classrooms face northwards, and the corridors, southwards, therefore the heat of the sun rarely affects the buildings directly.

My favorite hang out in the Ateneo was the Dela Costa open field, between Dela Costa and the SocSci building. There were benches there adjacent to the Rizal Lib. Nice. full of trees, you really couldn't be bothered by the heat since there's lots of trees.
