Looking for an automatic light when it's night time

I live alone and it can get pretty dark outside my dorm at night time. I don't want to leave the light on the whole day naman when I leave in the morning.

Is there such a thing as a light that can detect if it's night time? Or a timed light? I just want it to be on during the night time so that it's not too dark when I go home.

Meron nun. It detects the ambient light and switches on or off the attached bulb. Yun nga lang you have to use an incandescent bulb not the CFL bulb.

I bought mine at Cherry Foodarama at Shaw but you can those at Handyman (Robinson's) or Ace Hardware (SM).

you could also get one with a motion detector at Raon, Quiapo.

Go to any hardware in a mall and get those night lights they use for baby nurseries. Just plug them in a socket. The light turns on when it's dark and off when you turn the main light on. They even have those low power LEDs now.

    ++400p but ...

the only disadvantage of these things, it runs on stand-by power. so watch your electric bill peak a little bit.

actually, there are now companies installing BMS units for houses. Building Managemant Systems which controls lighting, power, facilities, and security of one's home in an Ipad.

but again, everything will be running on standby power.

i guess it's better to have standby power kaysa makalimutan all together na isara yung ilaw.

yun kasi yung mahirap if dormer ka, walang magpapatay ng ilaw for you if nakaalis ka na ng bahay.

salamat po for sharing this link!

been using TRONIX brand for 2yrs... stable po, install and forget.
the device will work efficiently if its sensor is properly exposed.

    check this for details, http://www.innovatronix.com/tronixmanuals/ANL.pdf.

you can find the store in SM Malls and at AYALA MRT (Tronix Digital Photo...)

I just bought one of these sa MC Home Depot, The Fort, at P390.00. 'Will try it out this weekend, kapag okay, I might get another one.

Pinatesting ko sa store sa Watt Reader nila, and testing it with a 9W LED bulb (E27/standard thread). 8.3W lang ang reading sa set, well, baka yung bulb kinulang sa output. Tapos kapag inactive or standby (naka-off yung light bulb), zero (0) W naman yung consumption ng set. It's either efficient itong device na 'to or may topak lang yung Watt Reader sa store. Hehehe.

Btw, this one is a product of Antipolo and manufactured in Antipolo (well, according sa nakasulat sa packaging).
