It is just natural selection manifesting itself. Nature is just de-selecting Pinoys for existence in this world. Only the fittest deserve to survive. As a society, Pinoy society is proving unfit for this world of civilizations. People throw garbage everywhere, they elect corrupt and incompetent people in the Government, they just don't think enough. This is why these things will keep happening to Pinoys. It is natural selection before our very eyes. Pinoys have not evolved so yeah, Pinoys will be extinct except for those smart enough to leave Pinoy society or stay on top by changing their cultures. I really don't feel sorry for Pinoy society for what is happening to them. I am Japanese and Chinese by heritage by the way so there.

Nah, Filipinos are to blame. In Katrina it was faulty levees that caused the flooding. In Philippines it was clogged drainage due to garbage. Besides, of course it happens everywhere, but it happens more frequently in Philippines. In New Orleans it may have happened once but they will create measures for it not to happen again. Di tulad ng Pinoy nangyayari at nangyayari pa rin dahil ang Pinoy hindi nagtatanda. Why don't you want to blame Pinoy society and its culture? Ayaw mo ba sila maging responsable? Mga tulad mo, meyrs17, ang dahilan kaya walang asenso ang Pinoy.

makati_girl, you're plain stupid. you're claiming that you dont care about the philippines yet youre ranting about how apathetic, uneducated, and careless filipinos are. You might be right, you might be wrong. WHO CARES ABOUT YOU?
Can we stop thinking about egotistical selves and our unvalued opinions and just keep it to ourselves for once? You think your words can alleviate poverty within the country? You think you know how to bring back an extinct animal? You think your words can grow back a rain forest? You think you can fix the holes in the ozone layer which causes global warming which ultimately brought about a month-worth of heavy rain pouring in Luzon? Well unless your words can do all that, then you should just stop blabbering your worthless rantings and do your part. ngayon kung sinasabi mong di ka naman apektado sa baha namin, then all the more you should just SHUT THE HECK UP. People, we should just all stop the blaming the corrupt governemtn, the environmental apathetic society, the uneducated majority, etc. I'm not saying they are totally innocent and in no way responsible for any predicament the world is facing. But the heck, we should all realize sometimes that we ourselves should know how to take action of our own responsibilities. Stop blaming yourself, stop blaming your parents, stop blaming the government, stop blaming your boss, your professors, just stop it. And just accept your own responsibility. Just be responsible and take action. and no, makati_girl, everyone has a part and you are not exempted. |

Hurricane = Typhoon only, Hurricane is for North and Central America, as Typhoon is for southeast asia and many more. gets? Meaning you really cant say that hurricane has more intensity than typhoon. Anyway, its irrelevant. there are two sides of the story, one could believe the cause of the flooding is global warming, or just mere clogging. I say its global warming coz' even if drainages are all cleared up, that much of heavy pourring will still flood manila, maybe lesser, but it will still flood. |

Mas Malakas ang Hurricane Katrina kaysa Typhoon Ondoy.
Katrina: http://www.katrina.noaa.gov/ On August 28, 2005, Hurricane Katrina was in the Gulf of Mexico where it powered up to a Category 5 storm on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale packing winds estimated at 175 mph. Typhoon Ondoy http://news.aol.com/article/tropical...ippines/688535 The 16.7 inches (42.4 centimeters) of rain that swamped metropolitan Manila in just 12 hours on Saturday exceeded the 15.4-inch (39.2-centimeter) average for all of September, chief government weather forecaster Nathaniel Cruz said, adding that the rainfall broke the previous record of 13.2 inches (33.4 centimeters) in a 24-hour period in June 1967. Garbage-choked drains and waterways, along with high tide, compounded the problem, officials said. Ketsana, which packed winds of 53 mph (85 kph) with gusts of up to 63 mph (100 kph), hit land early Saturday then roared across the main northern Luzon island toward the South China Sea. ------------------------------ And yes, Garbage clogging the drainage and waterways (including rivers) compounded the problem!!! Ayan kasi tapon ng tapon ng walang pakundangan. Philippine Officials themselves said that according to the News Article. So yeah, blame everything in the world for the Pinoy's plight except Pinoys themselves para hindi na magbago at ganito na lang ng ganito. Last edited by manuelgend : Sep 28, 2009 at 07:49 AM. |

Not a very efficient way of natural selection when less than a hundred people died eh?
Typhoon Morakot (Kiko) killed 600 people in Taiwan when it only killed 50 people in the Philippines. Kahit paano malakas pa rin tayo kay Bro. |

LOL! Parang the blind arguing with the deaf. Yes, merong hurricane, typhoon at cyclone. More or less parepareho ang mga ito, ang hurricane ay sa Atlantic Ocean, ang cyclone ay sa Indian Ocean at ang typhoon ay sa Pacific Ocean. Ano, maliwanag?
Yes, ang weather system ay nag-uumpisa sa tropical depression, where the potential for a more damaging track is identified. Normally, tracking at this time of the year is clockwise WRT the ocean. Which means where Pinas is located, the weather pattern is in a transition going east-to-west, then south-to-north and eventually west-to-east, depending on the position of the earth relative to the sun. Now, the atmospheric conditions affect how much water rains down. When the atmospheric pressure is very low, more rain comes. ![]() Quote:
