Anyone knows how much this costs and what are the different procedures? I wanna get rid of unwanted hair on my underarms and legs permanently. If it's too expensive then I'll just settle for the underarms. I think this is the only better alternative to waxing.

Anyone out there who had undergone the procedure? How much will I shell out? Thanks a lot ;)

or it would cost more.. depending what part of the body.

sa facial care center, pero it would cost you some. they call it laserlight hair removal a gentle, non-invasive treatment suitable for any wanted hair, anywhere on your body. it gives you totally bare-able hair free, satin-smooth skin. laserlight uses a lightsheer diode laser system, which was developed specifically for hair removal for permament hair reduction and is the only method that is FDA-approved for permanent hair reduction.

if you want more info, i could refer to you and maybe ask for discount for their treatments.

this is from their brochure..

it takes about 3 to 4 treatments to remove all your unwanted hair permanently. this is because hair grows in 3 phases; at any one time some hairs are growing or are in their active phase, while other hairs are resting or in their dormant phase. LaserLight can only treat hairs that are actively growing at the time of treatment. eventually, the hairs that were resting during the previous treatment will begin to grow. when you have sufficient growth, come in for you next laserlight session for these hairs which are now ready for threatment.

ill ask how much...

Hey angel_toes !

I read the mag again, there's nothing much in the article regarding permanent removal of unwanted hair but the name of the clinic is there and the contact number, so I did make some inquiry.
The price range for underarms is from Php 4000 up.. depending on the size of the area. The legs, its ranging from Php 10,000+ , depends also in size. The procedure will be 3 to 4 sessions.

Plastic Surgery Associate is located at Clinica Manila, Sm Megamall. Contact no is 638-6931. :)

For all those who are interested.

I went to 2 dermatologists this week for consultations regarding Laser Treatments for my underarm area.

The 1st derma, costs 6-8Thou per session, and it will take me 3 sessions to permanently remove all the hair...treatment will be done at St.Luke's or UP-PGH.

The 2nd derma, costs P20Thou for 4 sessions...treatment will be done at Medical Plaza, Ortigas.

And I was told there are 2 kinds of laser hair removal. The "True Laser" which is more expensive, and the "Intensed Pulse Light" that uses light(i forgot, but I think eto yung sa Facial Care) ...both are for permanent removal of hair, the difference is that the other is mas expensive ang unit nya,and safer(no chance to get burned).

I've decided that I'll get the 2nd derma's services, because she's been our derma for a long time now.

Bea_, tnx for the info. Wonder though if guaranteed that the hair won't grow back? And also during the treatment and shortly after, are there any restrictions? Like, you can't put anything on the area, etc? Tnx ulit! :)

According to the dr., the hair grows in 3-4 different stages, that's why there is a need for 3-4 sessions of laser treatments, after each session, you'll be hair-free, but there are hairs which are dormant, that's why it isn't possible to zap them right away, only the visible hairs can be removed thru laser, that's why you should let the hair grow, and trim it before the actual treatment. It depends on the person, for some, it only takes 2 sessions...
After the treatment, one shouldn't use deos, or any other creams, whiteners, etc...but after a day or two, you'll be back to your normal routine...pwede na ulit maglagay.

wen ka papalaser? tell us naman oh if itsreally effective... hmmm i have a friend nagpalaser sya sa facial care.. kaso *** disadvantage once a month lang per session then u can't do anything to your underarm like if may nag grow you can't remove it.. you have to wait for the next session para sila magtanggal.. parang pinipitik daw eh..

tostitos: probably next month. Yes, you really have to wait, usually a month for the next session to take place.

i've been dying to have this done for months now...thanks for the info!

the problem with me is...i need to have my whole facial area done. i have so many tiny hair on my face ...it makes my face look dirty and tired.

i thought it was painless? eh bakit may parang "pumi-pitik"?

please let us know if you have done it na...esp sa facial care kasi there's where i plan to have it done.

Meron ba nito anywhere sa Makati Med?

:flower:melrose girl-I'll be having my treatment done at the MEDICAL PLAZA Ortigas, according to my doctor...sometime in august.

Facial Care Centre?--how much ang assesment nila sa yo?

have you tried bleaching the hairs on your face? It might help and make the hairs less obvious...try to use it alternately with depilatory creams...sally hansen has those bleaching kits for unwanted hairs...or you can make your own preparation.:flower:

I passed by LET'S FACE IT yesterday, and I got curious that they're offering LASER TREATMENTS now, I asked the receptionist for the charges and she said P2500/session(lang!!), it will take about 3-4 sessions to get rid all the hair on your pits... ang mura sa kanila noh?...but No, I wouldn't dare let them touch any part of my body hehhee I think trainees and practitioners naman ang magpeperform sa yo....just giving you guys some info ;)

melrosegirl:
My 1st session will be this coming sat aug.17.

I know the white blotches that happened to your friend, maybe she followed the exact proportion stated in the instruction sheet? she should reduce the amount of powder--I think the formulation works for caucasian skins--which I think are thicker than asian skins--- the reason white spots appeared was because the skin got irritated, the formulation is too strong for her skin to take.
You will feel if you are irritated, seconds after applying you will feel that the area is itchy...remove it immediately...try again after a few hours when the skin isn't red/itchy anymore, this time with a formulation na mas mild.

Ako the ratio I use is..... cream : powder ; 5:1......the instruction sheet says 1:1 or 2:1 if I remember it right...you'll really be irritated dun.

hey bea! so how was your treatment? was it worth it?

i went to facial care a few days ago, and MY GOD!, they were charging me P80K for a pakage of 6 sessions for the lower half of my face! if you get it by part lang, P40k for the jawline, P40k for the chin area and P30k for the upper lip!

the things is, they told me that if i enroll that day, i get 2 sessions free...kasi some people daw still have a few hair left that they wanted to be removed...so it means, the 6 sessions would still not guarantee total unwanted hair removal.

still thinking about it....kasi naman, it really costs a fortune. Im still going to st. luke's to find a dermatologist who does this and probably set an appointment with the Belo med grp too....just to compare prices.

can you ask your doctor how much it would cost me if i have this done at her clinic? thanks!

Hello!
It's a good thing someone posted at this thread...nabuhay uli!

As for my laser treatment...
It was held last Aug.17. My doctor first cleaned the area using a damp cotton—that I’m not sure if it’s astringent or water, but she said she uses a shisheido brand of spray to clean the area. She asked me to remove all my jewelries or any metal that I have with me, she then asked me to wear this sunglass thing, she took the scanner like equipment that is attached to the machine…I felt a mild sensation—medyo mainit, but it’s not painful nor uncomfortable, what’s distracting is the noise that you will hear coming from the machine…she did it about 4-5 times in different areas of the armpit, since the scanner’s head is small about the size of an electric razor….after doing that, she let me look at the area and there wasn’t any redness nor irritation naman, since she said I was a good candidate for laser hair removal(lightskin+dark hair), I noticed that the hairs got burned---others were gone and some thicker hairs remained still, though kinky na sila this time. And she did it on the other side of the pits, and that’s it! the session was thru in about 15-20 minutes. She asked me to shave the remaning hairs after 3 days. And few days after the initial treatment, the hairs were still intact but I noticed that it was already loosen--meaning if I try to pull it matatanggal na agad, there's no resistance, so that's what the doctor said that the laser is working beneath our skin surface.

It's been a month now and I really noticed that the hairs have lessen, there are some tiny hairs growing but I swear lots of them are not growing back and it's been a month(she said it would take me 3-4 session to be able to remove almost all, it is really impossible daw to be totally hair-free)
My second session would be on Sept.21.

Just don't trust beauty centers or cosmetologists to do this treatment, moreso practitioners/trainees.
Try to consult a real Doctor of dermatology.

Melrose Girl: P80Thou just for the upperlip/chin area??…lol
I heard a lot of complaints from people who went to FCC before, btw, not with the prices but with their efficiency.

I can refer you to my doctor, she’s nice and very patient, I liked her ever since the time I had my consultation with her, she would entertain your questions and would elaborate everything, unlike other doctors na nagmamadali. She charges reasonable rates because she isn’t a "commercialized" doctor. She has a new clinic in St.Luke’s hospital, but I had my 1st session done at her private clinic in Ermita.

Just PM me if u'r interested…

dahil sobrang expensive.

Effective ba talaga for long-term hair removal ang light sheer diode laser? To those na nagpa-laser na, anong machine ginamit sa inyo?
