it's true that there's a lot of atenean traitors out there, but don't you think you're basing some of it on mere assumptions? i mean, it's public knowledge that all government officials are corrupt, but don't you think some of those officials you've mentioned are just trying to be professionals and only doing their jobs as it was intended? ( i am referring to Dong Puno. ) you can't expect people not to fulfil their duties just because they don't like the administration; instead, they'd have to work harder to give way to transition inside the administration. maybe that's what some of the officials were trying to do. but then again, maybe not.

"what looks clean can be also dirty". even a professional.
i know first hand knowledge of how dirty dong puno is. the puno family has dirtied its hands since the marcos era. his father being a tuta. his brother got into all sorts of contracts in the PNP from handcuffs, drug testing, guns, u name it, the "puno " name is tainted throughout.
dong himself was so dirty during his stint w/ pal, he wouldnt dare eat pal food , lest he may succumb to the anger of pal employees. look at pal now, its mired in debt. it was due to executives like him who plundered the company. it was a known fact at that time.
dont be fooled by "clean-looking" people. for they may actually be dirtier than the most ugly person in the world.

1. Rep. Agapito "Butz" Aquino - shame on you Butz; you and your sister Balato Queen Sen. Tessie Aquino-Oreta are a SHAME to all decent Filipinos ; hiyang-hiya siguro si Ninoy sa dalawang ito ; na-balatuan kasi ni ERAP.
2. Rep. Didagen Dilanggalen - Tuta ni ERAP ; another Atenean gone wrong ; magkano kaya ang pinabayad ni ERAP sa kanya?

Thats what the typical Atenean lacks - respect for other people.
NOBODY owns BJ - not even Ateneo. Each person is his own person and is entitled to his own decisions.
Ateneo High School superstar BJ Manalo CHOSE to transfer to De La Salle for his university studies & play for the Green Archers - and no amount of cry baby tactics, insults, unkind sour graping and boorish whinings from Ateneans can change this fact.
Right now BJ has THREE (3) UAAP Varsity Championship Rings with the Green Archers, his former High School teammates have NONE.
PS. La Sallians never subjected Brian Gottfried nor Brandon Sison to the same boorish and unkind treatment Ateneans subjected BJ to - when these High School La Sallians transferred to Ateneo for college & played for the Blue Eagles.
Therein lies the difference between TRUE La Sallians and Ateneans.
La Sallians respect people, Ateneans don't.
I hope Ateneans learn to respect this La Sallian's conviction.

And while we're talking about RESPECT, I'd have to say you're unworthy even of your own la sallite heritage. Your baseless act of dissing is, in fact, disrespect. And since we're talking about it, maybe you'd like to remember the following:
1. "TUITION NYO, BAON LANG NAMIN!" banners/placards during the la salle-ust UAAP championships
2. "F*CK YOU ATENEO" during your Animo party
3. The below-the-belt usage of la salle zobel's pep squad of an OFFICIAL Ateneo seal and jacket which were practically vandalized during a certain halftime cheer, much to the chagrin of the Atenean alumni. (This, by the way, is supposed to be against the rules for the pep squads, as well as the rules of ettiquette -- You can use the same colors, but never an official seal or paraphernalia.)
4. The persistent mockery of the likes of Joe Lipa, LA Tenorio (both for their noses), Rico Villanueva, Magnum Membrere (who was referred to as "batang yagit"), etc.
So la sallites respect other people eh?
And by the way -- BJ will never, ever lose his loyalty to the Ateneo. I guess I'd say the same thing about whatever allegiance he has to la salle.

Ria16,
You're absolutely right. It's BJ's personal decision as to where he matriculates and which team he plays for. But some things just don't sit right here. If it's opportunities after college or after basketball, I think Ateneo and LaSalle would offer about the same kind of great opportunities, whether in entrepeneurship, the corporate world, or any of the professions. BJ's taking Management at LaSalle I think, something Ateneo offers. The same big companies pay the same big money for Management graduates from both schools. So what DIDN'T Ateneo offer? BJ would've had the chance to play varsity ball with not only old team mates from high school, he would've played with friends he practically grew up with, friends he has shared victory, defeat, blood, sweat and tears with many times before, if he had gone on to the college. The LaSalle varsity, successful as the program has been all these years, couldn't possibly offer THAT. So what DID LaSalle offer BJ? I'm trying to rationalize things here only because I'm as stunned and shocked as a lot of other Atenistas that BJ Manalo, star guard and virtual heart and soul of the Ateneo Junior Varsity, went to LaSalle. Then there are those other allegations of UAAP seasons past about the recruitment for the LaSalle varsity. Even dyed-in-the-wool LaSallite cousins of mine wonder how a lot of former LaSalle varsity players ever passed their entrance exams since they were with them in a few classes. But the question remains: What did LaSalle offer BJ Manalo that Ateneo did not?

Money aside, if I was really serious about being an athlete, and if I had the talent to back up this ambition, I would choose La Salle. The fact is, La Salle's environment is more conjucive to the development of athletic talent than Ateneo's (read between the lines). I was once a member of an Ateneo UAAP team and even if our practices were just three times a week, I had a challenging time balancing studies w/ sports. There was a time when we almost had to pay for our own uniforms.
Also, besides the "conjucive environment", if you look at the support that La Salle gives to its athletes, it bests all other schools in the Philippines. Their sports programs run smack of a US NCAA athletic program like that of Kentucky or UNLV (read between the lines again=)). Even their chess and ping-pong teams get full financial and academic support such as scholarships, flexible class hours, and the likes.
They take sports very seriously in La Salle and it has institutionalized programs that would ensure the continued development of all their athletes, not just basketball players. And that is why over the long term, La Salle will always be seeded over Ateneo in any sport. This does not mean that Ateneo cannot beat La Salle, its just that the odds simply favor the school that has a sports program where you just can't lose.
And, in the end, if BJ was really sincere about his desire to pursue a professional basketball career, then his chances are better off with La Salle than with Ateneo.

ReyesAA,
I guess that's what happens when Ateneo decided right from the get-go that it would be a school first and foremost, with student-athletes and not athletes masquerading as students. Going back to the topic of Ateneo traitors, I'd say we'd have to include almost everybody who goes against the principles he supposedly learned at the School. Being a man for others is not the easiest thing in the world, especially since we are ever more being engrossed with material things especially in this hi-tech age. Think about how much Ignacio De Loyola gave up. He practically gave up the good life to which most of us have grown accustomed. I'd say any Atenista who hasn't even tried in the most barely minimal way to live this way is very much an Ateneo traitor.

All I think of it as fate for people to change and be branded traitors. We may never know 'coz only they know the answer why they changed sides.
It's kinda like the Star Wars formula: a jedi knight (anakin) wanted power, there were two powers: the good and the bad. he made his decision: the bad coz it's much easier to attain than the good. (if you saw episode 2 anakin was really impatient in becoming a powerful jedi knight)
I wish that someday these people change back to their once humble selves

I wish that someday these people change back to their once humble selves

sir flik! like your nick ha! suikoden fan ka rin?! love master shu!
btw, that's the real world. good and bad. to have entirely good or evil is not good. but of course it's still good to have the things we value because it's harder to attain.
