BAKIT walng BOARD EXAM ang COMPUTER ENGINEERING?????????
others say kaya daw *** is because parating me bago in the field of computers so mabilis masyado yung changes kaya mahirap i-regulate..actually malawak din kc ang field ng computer engineering and i guess it just a matter of choice kung san yung preferred mo na specialization either s software part or hardware.. ;)
but there was a rumor before na magkakaron na daw ng board exam ang comp engg, but apparently until now eh *** pa rin...:p
kaya most of the jobs 2day na suppose for comp eng dominated pa rin ng ECE & comp sci... :D

also, the examiners/prc are still having a hard time standardising computer engineering education in the philippines. which is most probably true, computer engineering varies from school to school.
the same problem goes for industrial engineering :)

because different schools have different curricula for computer engineering. some schools specialize on design of computer architecture, with microprocessors and controllers as their output. others specialize on databases and software engineering.
computer architecture is one diverse field and it would be rather difficult to set one standard set of exam for board.

sabi nila nilalakad na daw na magkaroon ng board ang comp eng.
balak nga nila na ipareho ang question sa ece.

there was this gossip running around three years ago that if computer engineering graduates decide to take the ECE board and pass, they will be given two licenses. guess all that talk just died a natural death... :D

FYI, two professional licenses are not allowed. Even the so-called CPA lawyers have to give up their CPA licenses once they pass the bar.

i dont think this would be possible because coe and ece are 2 very different field, though after graduation, coes and eces do overlap works. coe is more on computer architecture and design, while ece is more on communications. you cant use the questions from ece for coe board because i, being a coe, do not have much knowledge on radiowaves and filters and other ece topics. these 2 are different specializations.

Mahirap habulin ang technology ngayon, sobrang bilis talaga!

ganun din sa ee and ece. kaya lang kasi it's a requirement na kailangan may license sa construction industry (mostly for ee) and sa broadcasting (for ece) kaya siguro may board exam sila. noon yata, mas specific ang domain ng ee/ece. pag coe naman, expected na maraming fields pwede (like IE) kaya di na kailangan ng board exam.

Hmmm... now I realize it makes sense that Computer Eng'g doesn't have any board exams. Unless the board exam topics change every year, I would guess that the core topics would be the same as for ECE and even EE (electromagnetics, circuit theory, semiconductors, electronic circuits, logic theory).
