I was so happy that Ms. LT won! :blow: All the difficulties she had and the craft she poured into giving us Lorrea/Lorrinda were finally rewarded. Brava!

It would've been great had KTKH won Best Drama Series again--but I kinda figured that was too much, like asking for the moon. After all, na-sweep na niya all the awards last year (aside: I'm not even sure why/how it qualified for this year--far be it for me to find the method in PMPC's madness) and it was obvious that the whole fantaserye-pioneer Marina juggernaut thing was gonna be hard to beat. Oh well. But I maintain, objectively, that KTKH was the best soap among the nominees this year...actually it's probably still the best soap in the last five years (ever since soaps started being local showbiz's bread and butter...yes, I think it's even better than Pangako Sa'Yo, its closest competition, imo). Until now, almost a year after it ended, no soap so far has been able to top it in terms of quality. It set the bar pretty high. :handsdown:

(Hay. I miss this KTKH.)

But what would've made me ecstatic was if John Lloyd had won. It would've been cool to bookend the memory of KTKH with trophies for Best Actress and Best Actor; Yuri and Lorrea were the lead characters of the soap after all, its core.

(Oh wait, KTKH did win Best Actor...just for the wrong one. huhuhu.)

This is the injustice:
1) John Lloyd won Best Actor for Tabing Ilog, and lost twice for KTKH when the latter is unquestionably the better performance. By a mile.
2) This year, instead of having the consuelo de bobo of losing to veteran actors like Eddie Garcia, Christopher De Leon & Richard Gomez, or at least to Echo or Piolo who are young thesps like himself, he loses to a mediocre actor.
3) And the year before that, he lost to a plain bad one. Who, by virtue of being in the same soap and acting alongside him, made it so easy for everyone to see that his performance was a zillion miles away from John Lloyd acting-wise that no one in his/her right mind actually thought that he'd be competition, much less get nominated, much less win.

Ohgawd, I don't want to get an aneurysm thinking about a Star-freaking worthless-Award. Pero sad and bitter lang ako that one of the best drama performances--not by John Lloyd, but by any actor, male or female, ever, period--was not recognized.

John Lloyd is young, I'm sure he'll have lots more chances to get good roles, mature as an actor and rake in awards. I just wanted him to get one for this character. I was rooting for Yuri Orbida. I wanted Yuri to win.

i think ktkh was still included because the coverage for star awards 2004 included the last half of the last year and the first half of the awarding year. reliable naman yung source ko kaya lang malabo pa rin sa logic kasi ktkh started july 2002 and ended november 2003...so nung star awards 02 hindi na siya included. largely book one nung 03...hmm something seems amiss...deadma ;)

kaya siguro hindi nanalo si yuri kasi mas prominent yung role ni Boris nung book 1. ewan ko though bakit hindi hindi siya nanalo this year (if i was correct with the coverage thing) kasi unquestionably he was the star of book 2. oh well.

i'm so glad red butterfly won. much deserved! :)

melusine, I agree that KTKH is far the best soap in primetime television in the past 5 years...the best tlaga...I mean, these days, I'm liking Hiram, but not as much as I liked Kay Tagal...

Yup, JLC was brilliant in the show and he should have won din naman, but in my opinion lang po, Boris was also deserving because maganda yung character and in fairness to the actor, John Estrada, he gave justice to the role...before the soap started, a lot of people had a lot of doubts of him being a dramatic actor, but in fairness to him, he pulled it off and was able to hold his ground with acting greats like LT and Edu...not bad for someone we used to see as MTB host and comedian back in Palibhasa days, so I feel that he is deserving na lang...sana nga lang nag tie sila ni JLC....

Anyway, tama din naman yung comment na bata pa si JLc and a lot of opportunities for awards will come his way.... :) It's all in the right time, right? At least, he was one of the privileged ones to be part of the best soap in the country... :)

I think deserving naman na manalo c Boris (John Estrada) ng best actor award. From what I know, yung period kasi na jinudge c john and john lloyd, book 1 pa lang yung naging basis. And if i remember it right, mas marami ata exposure and mas challenging ata yung mga scenes ni boris nun kesa kay yuri. Yuri's story kc that time basically revolved around his love triangle with helena and kyla. On Boris part naman, i think that was the time when Lorinda supposedly died, it was also when lorrea was married to Henry, and when lorrea supposedly died din. So, marami talaga siyang acting highlights nun. And we have to admit na magaling siya dun sa mga scenes na yun. He showed an entirely different person from the ones we see on MTB and Palibhasa.

I agree na super galing din c john lloyd. But I guess, his acting highlights came in the soap's book2. super credible siya as a lawyer and super nakakatouch yung mga scenes nila ni Katrina and Lorrea. If you ask me, he should have won this year's best actor award kc yung book 2 ng KTKH yung naging basis ng awards this year.:)

hehehe feeling nostalgic...i was watching my old tapes of ktkh since monday and i jus love the soap...the thing na nagustuhan ko sa sa teleseryeng eto eh hindi sya nakafocus sa "loveteam"..kasi diba minsan kapag nakafocus lang sa loveteam medyo parang paikot ikot ang mundo but with ktkh ang main plot talaga eh yung mga different level of "relationships" and also lahat ng mga characters ay may saysay yung bang kasama talaga doon sa plot...and also i love tha pair ups..with yuri n kayla at first then talagang out of nowhere ang team up na jlc n bea..plus iba rin ang chemistry nina rica and bernard, then we got the young loveteam alwyn n shaina then we have lorrea here pero i was more of a dimitri and lorrea shipper can;t stand boris..basta yung pagkaexecute ng storya eh kakaiba sa lahat ng soap and yung plots talagang hindi gasgas linya na nanggaling sa ibang mga soaps..
basta ktkh is da best..i only wish na sana ganon ang nangyari sa it might be u..i like bea n jlc but sana man lang talagang pinlano ang it might be u like ktkh

Ang maganda sa soap na to.. di sya boring lahat ng casts dito may mga scenes aabangan mo talaga.. saka fair ang mga scenes nila... di tulad ng iba yung isang casts mas matagal ang scenes yung iba sandali lang.... ito fair talaga...mamahalin mo ang mga casts dito. today's epi pala..

the 2boys escaped for the mean man and went to manila...to Ivan's uncle but the uncle turned them in with sindicate who sends off children to beg..the boss treatened to cut Yuri's leg (very sad scene, I hated it) they were send off to beg again and decided to escape..told the police but police were ally with the sindicate..2 boys ran but Ivan was caught..and the boys were separated. Yuri went to church prayed outloud, collapse...a man found and carried him and took him to the hospital..then started walking in the hall of the hospital...

llorea on the other hand got very sick, she was also taken to the same hospital, she woke up and tried to escape..as she was trying to escaped she stumble to Yuri...both eyes met...(cliffhanging)

Yuri is now with tatay mirdo..tatay mirdo kept pushing him away but didn't want to leave..Yuri stayed right outside where tatay mirdo lives but didn't let him in the house...he played music with a leaf and tatay mirdo heard it and found him..Yuri smiled at him but tatay still didn't let him in..

The next morning tatay mirdo found Yuri sleeping outside. He touched Yuri and he felt hot. He then carried him inside and told him that he was going to buy some medicine and on the way back from the pharmacy a neighbor told him that Yuri asked her for some garlic to place under his arm so that he would be hot..and it worked but Mirdo was very much upset by now and when he got home he gave Yuri some spanking for lying to him.

Mirdo told him to go away as he was taking the bus to the province, and yuri just stayed on the side and cried. Mirdo then changed his mind and asked yuri to come with him to the province..Yuri was happy then.

Mirdo and Yuri are being shown happy together while they show llorea doing some aerobics and looked happy as well...
next scene Mirdo and Yuri having fun and Mirdo taking really good care of Yuri...Yuri thanks the Lord for tatay mirdo and Mirdo thanking the Lord for giving him Yuri before going to bed.(I love this scene) Llorrea shown holding on to Yuri's old toy..a rubber fish or whale(i think) and saying goodnight to it..with tears falling


a lady in red was shown going inside a room and hit on the head then fell down..a gun was placed on her hand then a dead body was shown..next scene..the lady were being escorted in the facility jail separated from others..she looked rich (her face is covered with a red scarf) as other jailer whispered among themselves..as the other jailer were doing excercises the lady in red comes by and stopped by llorea and seems to be looking at her....

next scene: a young lady running and yelling Yuri's name as Yuri(who is now Jlc) came up holding a bunch of coconut shell..asked her what was going on..apparently he had acquired an scholarship of somekind and very happy...Tatay Mirdo is happy...
Yuri and the young lady seem to be best of friend...

in a middle of a night llorea was fetched by the guard...she's requested to give the lady in red a massage..in her room as llorea entered..her veil was removed...it's her...she looks like her..(cliffhanging)

llorea and lorinda met confronted each other about bagay bagay. llorea mention that their nanay is dead.

yuri went to manila sa bording house..he met rica (ano ba yun name num?) iforgot na..sa school..she cut and yuri told her that the line were long and that she should wait like everybody else..rica looks snobby and rich also popular..she looks so young here..

si red is begging henry to get her out of jail pala..she thinks na his other lady partner set her up...brigitta ba yon..so he's doing what he can to get her out...yun pa lang ang mga scenes..

wala pa si katrina...matagal pa siguro..can't wait na nga eh..

Haleana saw Yuri at the school cafeteria and interupted his lunch..get this!! baon nya kanin..haha!! pinagtinginan tuloy sya pero inalok naman niya ang mga tao..hehe..neweiz, haleana came up to him and kind of teased him she even had a spoonful of his lunch

meanwhile red invited lorea again but she refused and told the guard that she wasnt feeling well..red of course was upset by that news and slam the door on the guard's face..hehe..

at the Argos mansion..showed father and daughter chasing each other playing around while haleana checking in her asleep little brother came out and saw katrina and dad playing...katrina looks so cute with her big glasses and a humongus antenna brace..well you can actually see a pretty face behind that...si bea talaga kahit ano gawin beauty pa rin..neweizz..dad sent katrina up to her room coz haleana mention about his kirida (red) and didn't like that..they talked about it and after a while siempre what can haleana do daddy loves red..henry were suppose to be going to hongkong the next day told haleana to write down what they want him to buy in hongkong...place it under the doorway for him..

red on the other was picked up by an old man and went to boris(john estrada) hmmm..something's fishy!!!

at boris place: red is obviously having an intimante relationship with boris, (I'm not used to seeing LT at this kind of scene,she's flirty and seductive)Henry (without knowing where red was) called and asked where she was..she said she's just getting some air..(yeah!! i can say that!!plenty of it perhaps)Brigitta is coming to see her and of course she was upset.

at the school cafeteria: a boy got up on the table and announced something(can't remember what it was)Yuri was sitting and tried to leave the room and caught by others...he was auctioned for a cause they said and heleana bought him a 1000.00 pesos..

in jail: brigitta applogizing to red but red knows better..red told her she better get out of jail or lagot sya kay henry, brigitta said hindi puedeng pabayaan ang wife of henry argos oh sorry hindi pala kayo kasal, how should i address you..red faced her and said (i like this part) mistress, lover,his better half, the one great love of henry argos..lahat ng pinangarap mong maging ikaw....she pause...then laugh..joke she said..pero mukhang hindi joke eh.

Yuri is supposed to do whatever heleana wants him to do. When the class were about to start Yuri was in a hurry so wouldn't be late but heleana stole his class schedule, he got to the class late, of course.

He entered the classroom and asked the prof if that was pol sci class and the prof said political science and yes it was and told yuri to leave the room. Yuri tried to reason with him but the prof didn't care, upon seeing that Heleana who was also in the same class already sitting seemed sorry for what she did. Yuri left the room..but only to get a chair and sat right outside the door(i like that!! hehe) and the prof just looked at him..heleana smiled at him. Class is over!!(funny the prof were the first to leave the room..wala lang..:) )heleana ran after Yuri and appologized and gave back his schedule..yuri looked upset.

in jail: llorea has a visitor...it was boris..end of epi.

llorea was surprise to see boris, boris informed her that red wants to help her out of jail and find her son.

at the argos mansion: in nikos room..heleana rubbing her brother's to sleep (is niko ever awake?) when katrina walked in looking sad..heleana asked wht was wrong...she said schoolmates call her names..heleana then started comforting her..(heleana is so nice to her family but so mean to Yuri :( )

in jail: red summoned llorea to her room and asked her how she felt when she saw boris and if she still loves boris then llorea denied that she ever loved boris. Llorea asked red who she really is and what did she do but red remained silent and asked llorea to leave her room and never to come during the day and never to call her lorinda again. Llorea then said not to ever call for her again

meanwhile Brigitta (she reminds me of Jessica Lange, Roger Rabbit's gf) forced and threatened someone to admit killing Quijano..

in jail: llorea remembering the past..with boris..the twin both had intimate relation with boris and boris didn't of them being twin..Llorea being shown being intimate with boris inside a shed..end of epi..

llorea visited her grave which was done by Frida (her jail friend) boris, thinking red was buried in that grave, started telling lorea about red before they knew henry argos then red was introduced to henry and liked her..she was trained her with the job and also learned to kill, how she became powerful with the sindicate...was the beginning of lorinda's new life as red butterfly...

llorea gave boris a butterfly pin that she wore when she switched place with red...flash back as she handed it to boris (whenever red wears it, it indicated that she loves boris) llorea assures boris that lorinda loved him so.

at the campus..Yuri posting flyers at campus..he types other students schoolworks for a fee...which enable him to pay part of his school fee..he met Jovan (i think) he asked him to tutor him and even dealt with other students to pay him more for xtra work..

there was some kind of bet for heleana to get Yuri to kiss her and the deal is that Yuri has to kiss heleana and not vise versa.

prof dimitra is screaming at his class..none of them knows the answer cept for Yuri.
Jus Soli and Jus Sanguni what is the difference..since no one else knows the answer the prof didn't have a choice but to call on Yuri.
Jus Soli=choice of citizenship..based on place of birth
Jus Sanguni= a person assumes a citizenship of his/her parents..answered by Yuri(gees i've never heard of those terms glad to learn something new)

Nakita ko ang first episode nito on PCTV by accident and I am now hooked. Alam ko na this was a big hit when shown in the Philippines so I'm looking forward to seeing how the serial develops.

Vsecretcrush: in last night's episode, Rica's character (di ko na matandaan ang pangalan!) lent Yuri the money to go home to the province. Kaso pagdating ni Yuri sa ospital mukhang patay na yung tatay niya.

Monday episode (highlights):
natuloy n yung nangyari kay red at henry...n notice ni henry yung butterfly tattoo ni red so nagtaka siya(meron b yung real red nun? didn't get it kc)...si boris nmn eh nagmo-moment...flashback scene nung tinuturuan nya pa si lorrea ng target shooting, when she saw lorrea wore a daring top, and when he first saw her in a red dress, he also remembered yung sinabi ni berting labra na hindi basta-basta ang gagawin ni lorrea (sleeping w/ a man she hardly know)...kayla ask yuri na mamasyal kaso sabi ni yuri na scheduled siya para magtutor kay helaena...yuri was at helaena's house na...helaena excused herself para mag-prepare ng snack...naiwan si yuri sa sala and he was playing w/ kat's piano...then he heard a noise...it was kat...she was hiding...when yuri turned around to see who it was...kat run up the stairs and yuri never saw her...natuloy yung paga-aral nila yuri at helaena...yuri was standing trying to figure some problem dun sa homework yata nila yun while helaena's sitting...then helaena stood and went toward yuri (back was turned)...yuri turned around and they ended up really close...had their moment...ended up kissing each other...sa lips...END!

naku papalapit na ang BOOK2 baka mga middle of april... sana... :D wwwaaaaaahhhhhhh... i missed ATTY. YURI ORVIDA!!! gustong gusto ko na makita si JLC ng naka ATTY. and si KATRINA na dalaga na rerecord ko ang mga unang scene ng BOOK2.

Last wk eppy ang naalala ko si IVAN nakabaril ng guard to protect Yuri nakatakas si IVAN sa mga police, pero alam ni YURI na si IVAN yun di ya sinabi sa mga police.
